I wanted to install brand new central heating. I had 4 different companies come and give estimates. Right from the beginning I can not tell you how impressed I was with Doke. He gave me a great price and answered all of my questions. They started work (as promised) in a few days and did an excellent job. His crew was really nice and did excellent work. They kept everything clean and worked really hard.
Do not look further. Doke is your plumbing/ heating guy. Very professional, great price and excellent work!

Class operation. I hired Dokes to install a new heating system at my house. When I came home during the work day his guys were hard at work. I was shocked at how professional they were. The guy in my house had his shoes off and filled me in on the progress with install. After they made sure I didn't have further questions it was back to work. All the work was completed at a high level. Really clean work. I have now hired Doke for my fire sprinklers. He prepared the plans and delivered to the Fire Dept.

First, I've got to say that Doke is a nice guy, a polite guy, a guy who inspires confidence. I wish I could say the same of his crew. We hired Doke's Plumbing to install a tankless water heater and to re-pipe our house. The first day on the job I was told by one of the guys working on our place that ""I""m the oldest guy here at 26"" and that ""this is the B team, the A team works on the really big jobs (read: more money)"". This is not what I wanted to hear. Also, not one of the guys working on our place was a licensed plumber. They were all master level journermen. Nothing against being in training, but that's not what we paid for (and it wasn't cheap, it wasn't even the cheapest bid) and we were never told that unlicensed folks would be working on our place. Holes were drilled where they weren't suppossed to be holes, asbestos was removed improperly, left on the ground for many hours and ground to dust (and we have pets and are next to a dayschool). The guys worked hard and aimed to go a good job (they stayed very late one night to make sure that we had hot water), but it was obvious that they needed supervision and it was not there. All in all, I think that maybe Dokes likes the big remodeling jobs and not the smaller home improvement jobs. I wouldn't recommend them if you don't have a contractor there to breathe down their neck. It was not a pleasant experience.

Everyone messes up from time to time, and I got Doke's on a series of days when they performed very poorly. After Doke himself first returned my phone message to say I should call back the following week to ask about an appt, I eventually talked to the administrative person who scheduled me for an early appt (my request)...10 days out. So, this is now more than two weeks after my first call. The appt comes, and Doke's is a no-show, no-call, no-answer at the office (at 9 am). That night, I get a vm from the plumber who said he could come the following morning! I think the value of Yelp is to access fair reviews from actual users, so I thought it was important to report that Doke's has bad days to go along with the 5-star days also reported here.

I'm a remodeling contractor in San Francisco and for the past four and a half years I've engaged Doke's Plumbing as our exclusive plumbing contractor. I would have to say there are three primary reasons we stay with Doke project after project:
1. Practical problem solving: Doke's ability to quickly understand problems and come up with succinct solutions that effectively meet all building codes is critical for us to stay on track with our jobs.
2. Staff: Doke's employees are primarily young, energetic, clean-cut guys who have a great deal of respect for the client and their home. For me, as a contractor, this means that I don't have to worry about his guys making a mess or upsetting my high-end clients.
3. Timing: Doke has a large enough staff (not a one man operation) that he can quickly respond to most of our immediate needs and can generally schedule us in a reasonably short amount of time.

Did plumbing for my whole house renovation including three baths, the kitchen, plus installed new furnace and HVAC, and ran a new gas line. These guys were incredibly good. They showed up on time, returned phone calls, were very neat and respectful of surroundings, hauled away their garbage. The work was high quality and passed inspection without any flags. Several months after the project was finished i had a minor issue with one of the garbage disposals and doke sent a plumber the very next day to fix it, no charge. I would and will hire them again for my next project. Thanks Doke.
