I hired Do Rite for plumbing issues originally.I had all of my plumbing redone which was fine....sort of.Then mentioned I wanted to remodel my bathrooms and have other rooms painted. Had guy come out to take pics of what all I wanted done. The remodeling project started in January, 2021. I was told it would all be done within 3-4 weeks to redo 2 bathrooms.Today is June 4th and finally got the last piece put in. Though there is a problem with it. They need to decide plumbing or remodeling. I had to remind the main guy, Demetrius, what to do most of the time. ie order parts, order glass for shower. Sometimes I would get an answer to any questions I had but most of the time not. SERIOUS lack of communication with this company! I was told they had already moved on to other projects even though they weren't done with ours like we don't matter anymore. The painters did a poor job cleaning up their messes like getting paint all over our floor and getting paint on a new rug. I know there will be hiccups along the way but this co left me feeling like we don't matter. It started off strong then halfway through communication was horrible through the end. We didn't know from one day to the next if anyone was showing up. Several times when someone did show up they would ask me what they were supposed to do. I didn't know! I sent several texts to Demetrius to get a lot of unanswered questions. I would use caution before having this co do any in your home! There was still one thing that needed to be fixed with plumbing and haven't heard a word back from them, I already paid for the work but job was never completed. They were also supposed to do other projects in our home, like the painting project and never heard a word back about it. Do Rite plumbing is completely unorganized! After all of that our toilet is doing the same thing it did at the start of all this. Turns out the line just needed to be vented. They know this and told they would fix it and nothing!

When my home warranty company referred my plumbing claim to this company I was nervous after reading these reviews. Well after the great experience I had, I decided to leave a good review for these guys. They kept me informed via call and text message the whole way through, showed up during the time they said they would and fixed my running toilet. The tech told me exactly what the issue was and fixed it without issue. No complaints here.

Giving one star is a stretch since this is the only option. I had a leak around my water heater. AHS- American Home Shield dispatched DoRite Plumbing. The first visit Demetrius and Phillip came out. Demetrius stayed in the van while Phillip stated he had to see the water leak, therefore I had to wait til it leaked again. It was a few days later I called and, Phillip came out and saw the leak. He stated it was the AC condensation drain. He stated he could unclog it but had to check with Demetrius who so happen to be on vacation in Jamaica, therefore they referred the issue to AC. AC came out and discredited the notion it was AC drain but a main line stoppage( plumbing issue). Do Rite came out again. Phillip and Demetrius tried to place it back on AC. They fast talked about gaining access to the line. Demetrius attempted to tell me the AHS policy to gain access and he gave the option of going through the sheet rock. He adamantly told me AHS can't authorize per their policy but he would call. He stepped out went to his van and sent Phillip back in to say they would be on hold for 30 minutes, so they would be heading to their next job and left. I received a call from AHS stated Demetrius told them the only way to access is through wooden platform which is not true. This is not someone or business operating in integrity.

We have used Do Rite sporadically over the last 7 years and they have always done an amazing job for us! Thanks Demetrius!!!

Unfortunately, American Home Shield needs to stop using this company. Guys came to look at my cracked toilet and proceeded to tell AHS that excessive force was used, therefore the replacement would not be covered. What?! Yes, my kids that weigh under 100lbs. and use the toilet every other week used excessive force and broke it. Please! These guys didn't want to be at my house and had no right to say something so ridiculous. AHS is crazy for working with them. Missed a day of work waiting on a less than 10 minute visit. Bad business. No stars! Only one given to be able to post this review.

DoRite Plumbing out of Arlington, TX
Is it possible to have a negative 5 Stars? I called AHS (American Home Shield) to have a plumber come and fix two simple leaks. The contractor was in a plumbing truck with some basic supplies.
#1 problem is a bad valve on the water supply line coming out of the wall to the base of the toilet. It is supposed to shut the water off to the toilet in case it keeps running and overflows, which mine did. In trying to turn it off, the valve appears to close but doesn't shut off. Mark proceeds to say the floor is dry so there is no leak so AHS won't cover the call or part. You can see where the water went over the floor into the living room by the mildew forming on the carpet. According to him (and this is where he gets rude & arrogant and he implied it wouldn't be covered by AHS but could be fixed by them.
Now we go to the second problem, which was the shower control valve that is leaking very badly. I told AHS when making the service call, what type valve and brand I had. They couldn't fix it right now due to no parts. When I asked if they could fix the valve on the toilet they said they didn't have that little valve (which is basically the same on every toilet in America).
They had a stack of orders to complete before the end of the day and they couldn't go get parts for all the service calls or that would put them behind. They would have to reschedule. It turns out that if they make the call, they get to charge AHS. They also try to say AHS won't pay for certain repairs but imply they could fix them and I would just pay them, after they come back.
What a racket...when I tried to complain, Mark started yelling at me and said I was not his customer, I was AHS. Mark was extremely arrogant, abusive...we did not part under good conditions.
Read the other reviews, I think there might be a pattern here. Let's say, NO ONE FROM THIS COMPANY WILL DARKEN MY DOOR AGAIN!,

Do Rite Plumbing and American Home Shield (AHS)
I have the AHS warranty that covers the work/replacement of a water heater. Ours was leaking so I put in a request to AHS and they sent out Do Rite Plumbing. Wow
They said the water heater needed replaced and that AHS would call if I had a shared cost. The warranty covers the new water heater, installation, disposal of the old unit and $250 to comply with code changes. When AHS called and said my share would be an additional $622 I was amazed that AHS would put a vendor that pads the invoice on the vendor list. The install is as easy as it gets....in the garage, no obstructions and sits on a code approved shelf above the floor.
The $622 was for a water modification and code compliance issue. There is no water modification other than what would take place in a normal installation. The code issue is a $15 plastic pan that needs to go under the heater and about a foot of PVC pipe.
In my opinion the mode of operation is to prey on unsuspecting customers and hope they just don't understand. I sold water heaters for 20 years and had hundreds of customers that installed them, and I know what the cost and labor should look like. Customer Beware.

The technician Eric is arrogant and rude. I had a service order for him to work on two toilets in my house and he only worked on one. He would not listen to me when I tried to
him both toilets we constantly backed up. He was at my home for 3 minutes and he only worked one toilet. I called the next day because I had trouble with the second toilet which he didn't work on the first time. I scheduled a second service and I requested a new technician. This ridiilcous company sent the same technician. When Eric called me to confirm he was on his way, again he was arrogant. I do not recommend this company for any plumbing issues. Stay away from this company.

AHS sent Do Rite Plumbing to replace my hot water heater. I have been a member of this warranty company since 2002 and I pay $54 per month. I thought all I was going to have to pay was a $100 service fee, but my out of pocket expenses turned out to be $912, which included the $100 service fee, $100 permit fee, $65 disposal fee, $122 for pan & drain, $175 for electrical modifications, $175 for water modifications, and $175 for T&P (or something like that). First of all, I have a problem with the $100 permit fee because the city of Grand Prairie where I live only charges $60 for the permit. At this time no one has filed for a permit at address. I also have a problem with the $122 charge for the pan and drain because a pan and a drain cost no more than $ 30, and that pan looks the technician bought is cheap looking. It seems that he did not purchase enough material to do the job correctly because the technician positioned the drain so that the water will run down the concrete into the front of my house if there is a leak. I do not like that. I plan on putting some type of flooring in the garage and I don't want the water to mess it up. Also, it is tacky looking. More than likely I will have to incur an expense to change it if I sell my house When I asked the technician to have the water drain out on the side of my house he got an attitude and wouldn't do because he did not purchase enough to drain on the side of the house . I called the company and I was told that his boss was going to call him. I supposed his boss did call him because the technician told me that his boss said if I wanted the water to drain out the side I would have pay an additional $350, bring my out of the pocket expense to $1250. Although I paid him him the $812 I still do not have hot water. He finished a t approximately 1:57 p.m. and it is now 6:23 p.m. and the water is not even warm. Earlier I called the company and was told that this technician will not be working tomorrow, but they will send another technician tomorrow between 10 and 2. This is the worse service I have ever received from anyone. Think twice before join AHS or Do Rite Plumbing. M. P. 2/23/18

Replaced my garbage disposal under home owners warranty. They were prompt, courteous and professional. They worked around there schedule to fit mine. They didn't ask for trade fee till they were completely finished. Would use them again.
