DO NOT USE Do It Right (DIR) Plumbers
READ ALL THE 1-STAR YELPS--This Company Needs to Be Out of Business!

We called DIR for a service call in early December 2024 to clear a simple clogged toilet. After a big sales job, DIR charged us $2,900 claiming the sewer line need ""descaling"" and a new flange. Long story short, it did not work; then DIR said we needed to re-pipe from the toilet to the main drain and put in a clean out for an additional $6,000 which we declined. At the end, DIR said ""we will give you a free power flush toilet because that is your real problem."" The Supervisor said, ""If you take the power flush toilet you will never see us again."" We accepted DIRs offer for the free toilet, even though it is so loud it sounds like a public restroom toilet. You guessed it--the free power flush did not work either and now we are stuck with it!

We gave up on DIR and ended up contacting Roto Rooter; they snaked the drain and resolved the problem at a fraction of the cost. Basic plumbing...

After multiple requests to honor their advertised ""100% Satisfaction or its 100% Free"" website guarantee, they finally honored the full refund when we were prepared to go to the California State Licensing Board (CSLB). They initially claimed the website guarantee was just a ""slogan"" and not intended to be a guarantee, we planned to allege fraud and false advertising. Once we were at the point of filing a formal complaint, they finally gave us a full refund. Their business plan is to quote services at a high price and then add on from there. CAUTION: Beware of Megan (""Customer Service Manager""), she will lie and make up false claims to muddy the waters and hope you give up and go away. The owner ""Edan B."" will never be seen or heard but nothing will happen unless you are filing a formal CSLB complaint. Edan B. has learned how to keep from getting cited by CSLB by only giving refunds just before formal complaints are filed against his company.

Make sure to do your research and avoid DIR Plumbing. There are several 1-Star Yelp reviews and for good reason! Good luck, hope you find a reputable company to do your work.

Horrible company that uses bait/switch tactics. Very dishonest. Do not waste your time with this company, they do their best effort to hide behind a cheap inspection fee and will up-charge to the moon. I'm a GC and know construction pricing and this outfit is a complete rip off.

This review is solely on the quote I received from them and not the quality of their work. I had to replace my water heater and Bo came out to give me an estimate. They wanted over $3200 which I thought was ridiculous. Then Bo said I should replace all the pipes in the house and gave me a quote for $16,600. My jaw dropped and I decided to get a few other quotes. Found a super nice Plummer and he replaced my water heater for $1600. Always get a few quotes and don't let companies like this take advantage of you.

Have used this company in the past. Called for a water leak outside my home. Technician dug the area before we signed anything or gave us a price. After doing this, he gave us 2 options. $1500 for this repair or he suggested changing out the whole supply line for en eye watering $6000.00. Checked with some Knowledgable plumbers who agreed this was over the top. After we said we did not want him to do the repair, he wanted to charge us $1200.00 for his ONE HOUR to dig. I refused to pay that and said please have a manager call. We never signed any work authorization or quote. I am willing to pay a reasonable $125-$200 per hour for a skilled tradesman. Last time they came out, they tried to get us to replace an entire mainline for a small root problem. We declined and had them jet the line which took care of the issue. They tried to scare us with their camera that goes down the mainline. It was slightly off-set but draining fine. These plumbers are on commission and looking out for themselves. Look elsewhere. I will not do business with this company again. Had I not interjected they would have taken complete advantage of my wife who is not as knowledgeable. Companies like this give many tradesmen a bad name when there are honest professionals out there. Should have checked other Yelp reviews. Pretty scathing and many others feel taken advantage of by this company. I guess they don't realize you build a more successful business leaving your customers happy feeling they got a decent deal and were treated respectfully. I spoke with Christina who said she is the manager. She did not have answers as to why Beau did not conduct business properly but offered to send a more qualified ""senior technician "" to our home. Why would they send a technician who is not fully qualified? He called in to his office twice while at our property. It was akin to a used car salesman going back to talk to his sales manager. When we refused to pay, he did not push back as he knew $1200 for a diagnosis (10 mins labor time) plus trip charge is not reasonable. Ask for a written pricing schedule as they claim they charge by the job or task and not by the hour. Buyer beware!

Made an automated appointment on Thursday evening for a drain clearance on my kitchen sink. Dispatch called Friday morning to set up appointment so I called work to be home for the appointment. The service window was set for 10am to 2pm. Waited all day without notice. At 4:39pm received a call that the tech was not going to make it and would have to reschedule for a Monday appointment. Unacceptable. Used them in the past from Angi and had a good experience. Not this time. While they apologized, the apology seemed unsympathetic and more ""it is what it is"". The response the first time was eager and competitive. I guess regular customer service are not the treated the same way. Just call Angi each time a service is needed. Do It Right apparently doesn't respond with the same energy if they don't think they're competing with 3-5 other plumbers competing for your business.

SCAM ALERT !! So these guy came out to do a basic mainline clean out. The wife was home and a little upset about the situation and just wanted it fixed .
The Tech that came out was ""BO"" . Well he took advantage of the situation and called in for the ""hydro jetter"" because he could not clear the line.
Clearly he's not a Plumber because the other company we called put the snake in 6 feet and cleared the line. He was gone within 15 mins.
So Bo you need more training and not by the snake oil salesman they sent with the Hydro-jetter.
6feet in ...you boys are sad for trying to take advantage of a frustrated lady that just wanted the line cleared . I wish I knew the big mouth snake oil sales they sent out with the hydro jetter... I asked him did you run the snake oil? Oh no my tech did.
Well next time don't be so lazy and see if you're actually a good plumber or a good salesman.. lazy ass

Very poor, they installed a water softner that worked for a couple of months. After three attempts to fix it they were not able to. Clearly it is a defective unit. After four months of waiting for a response from them and requesting it to be removed they refused. Note: I had to contact them before they finally returned my call. They did offer me a replacement unit I choose not to chance it again. If it happens once it could happen again. they have lost my trust to stand behind the products they sell. Clearly they do not honer their products. I have filled a complaint with the state contractors board let them deal with Do it right plumbers.
