I called and spoke to Summer yesterday. I was frantic because there was a leak and I had a $600.00 water bill (bi-monthly). She scheduled me for today, waived the fee, and sent out Christian the tech. He was polite and found the problem right away. Christian also told me that it was a simple fix that could be done by any amateur thus saving me money on plumbing fees. He didn't have to be that honest but he was and I am so grateful. For me, this says a lot about the company. I can't say enough good things about them.
Ray C.It's not that this company gives terrible service. However be prepared to face uncompetitive quotes that I'm finding are around 40% higher than some of the competition. That's huge. I would suggest people always get a second quote. I ended up having my handyman, (who's excellent), do the last two repairs they suggested for literally 40% cheaper than their quote. And, if you sign up for their ""membership"" which includes some regular water heater flushes, etc...they always seem to find something else to be fixed and present you will a quote to increase revenue. They never just do the maintenance and leave. It seems like a total scam to be a ""member.""
Chris was nice and responded fast with my quest. Very responsible and contained the issue effectively.
Short version: Do It Right tried to do me wrong.
Long version:
Our kitchen sink was backed up, and after trying for 2 weeks to get it fixed through our home warranty (useless), I yelped these guys and decided to give them a shot.
Day 1. A Do It Right plumber comes out and tries to snake the drain, but it won't give. He says he'll need to come back the next day with a hydro jet. They will need access to our downstairs neighbors' kitchen to try to locate the clog, so we are trying to coordinate that.
Day 2. Plumber comes back with a hydro jet and an apprentice. They work for a couple of hours and tell us they haven't been able to dislodge the clog and they're afraid to apply any more pressure for fear of the pipes bursting (ABS pipes). So the next step is to come back the following day and open up the wall on our neighbor's property, cut out the piece of the pipe where the clog is and replace it. And in the process they'll throw in a cleanout since we don't currently have one and it will make future maintenance easier. But this means that now our HOA needs to get involved since the wall will need to be opened on the outside. Oh and of course we'll need to find a contractor to patch and paint after. I'm frantically trying to get speedy HOA approvals, coordinate with neighbors, find a contractor... This is also when I receive an estimate from Do It Right, and between the work they've already done and what they are proposing to do next, we're looking at $3700. Which of course does not include someone coming to patch and paint later. The quote I got for that from a contractor is $1200. This whole operation is about to cost me almost $5K.
Day 3. While waiting for HOA to get back to me (and eventually tell me that all of this is owner responsibility), I decide to call a few more plumbers and see what their take is. I get through to someone who is able to provide his own estimate based on my description of the problem, and it's only $850! Problem is, he can't come out for another week. So my options at this point are: shell out to Do It Right and have a working kitchen the same day; OR pay a fraction of that and put some of what's left towards all the takeout I'm about to eat for the next several days as I wait for this other guy to come out; OR see if Do It Right can match his quote; OR continue shopping and who knows when I'll have a working kitchen again.
So I call Do It Right to see if they can match or at least give me something close to this new quote. Hours go by, no reply.
Day 4. I finally get a response from Do It Right about matching the other guy's quote: NO. They actually said ""it's probably that low because it's likely a small, one-person operation"". They basically admitted that I'm playing triple the price just to cover their overhead. I'm kind of speechless at this point so I decide I'm gonna keep looking for someone else to come out and see what they can do.
I finally get through to someone, another small company, and they said they can be there in an hour. When we described the situation and what we've been through with Do It Right, the new guy just laughed and said ""BS, I've heard this one before. They're just trying to upsell you, as bigger companies do. There's no way your pipes will burst from a hydro jet. And it's also unlikely that a snake wont work. Let me try snaking it."" We did, and an hour and $200 later we had a working sink. This guy just saved us $5K and a ton of time and headache. I asked Do It Right to explain themselves, but no comment from them.
Moral of the story: don't let Do It Right near your house unless you've exhausted all other options.
I really dont know how anyone writes a bad review on this place I had such a good experience from megan on the phone to damian that came to the house everyone was AMAZING !! I didnt wind up using them because my stupid A$$ landlord didnt want to pay for the work to be done and GUARANTEED !! he wound up sending some handy man to fix my valves and pipes .... but !! like these reviews that ppl leave about the price being different like HOW are they supposed to be able to diagnose your plumbing needs without starting it ... when I called they told me everything that it was going to be 49 for the visit and he would look and write me an estimate which he did he even called my landlord for me and left a message regarding what needed to be done ...which its not his fault that my landlord is a cheap dude and wants to go with someone else .. honestly if there was so much that needed to be done and that I had to involve my landlord I DEF would have used do it right plumbers !!! anyone that puts a bad review is just plain out being an A$$hole or a karen ... plain and simple ...
Karen G.Chris C. Was extremely helpful and answered all of our questions. Thank you for coming out on short notice.
Chris H.I requested a plumber for my apartment building and tried to use 'Do It Right Plumbing' Company. One of my tenants had a stopped up drain in the kitchen.
They scheduled me for the following day sometime in the morning. I notified my tenant who took that day off from work. I called twice and requested a time so I could notify my tenant and twice Do It Right Plumbers cancelled the job leaving my tenant with a backed up kitchen sink. That late afternoon they called and told me they could not make the appointed time and it would be the following day because they were just too busy.
I canceled my appointment job with Do It Right Plumbing and got another plumber !
May their success be their demise !
Completely horrible experience manager guaranteed to resolve the issue his employee created and then called back saying the owner decided NOT to honor that promise ! They said they would not honor their price though the estimate came with a 3day price lock guarantee once I was approved for financing at a higher amount. They said that I could not get what I requested as the location of my tankless was impossible to place and that the price has risen 7000+ dollars over the course of 3 days. When I was directed to the supervisor who guaranteed the price and asked about all the sudden changes and expenses he said the owner was now refusing the job and they would no longer be able to complete the project -- nor repair the issue they're own employee created! the day there were scheduled to install (a few days before I was to leave for a vacation) they ghosted me and then after informed me after I called a thousand time! They refused to give me it in writing so it was very difficult for me to prove to the bank they never completed service and it caused months worth of confusing credit issues because of it! Shady company overall! They blamed everything on their employee Dakota even calling him incompetent saying he made the mistake and ""the tooth paste is already out of the tube"" so they couldn't do anything for their mistake. I called another company Roto rooter and they came the very next day and completed the service literally it was done in one day by the other company no problems and passed inspection with ease.
Arlene B.Do it right plumbers has a very disgruntled employee named Francis who answers phones and does the scheduling. This week I called "" do it right plumbers ""
To place a service call. When speaking to Francis she was very abrasive and combative, she wasn't easy to work with and sadly sounded very bitter over the phone. She sounded like she didn't want to take the call or book the business for the company. But since I needed a plumber I booked the appointment anyway. While speaking to her exhaling my situation she kept interrupting me and cutting me off, literally not allowing me to speak. Finally I told her it sounded like she didn't want to take on a customer service call and maybe I should go to another pluming service company. She rudely cut me off again and set the appointment begrudgingly. About 2 hour later the customer service manager named Gladis told me they didn't want my business and I should go find another plumber, she called at the end of the day and I told her I had already planned to have them check out the plumbing the next morning. Gladys was very loud and very angry. This whole time I'm thinking wow, if only the owners of the company knew how bad this customer service team was they would be sadly disappointed. I asked Gladis why all of a sudden after already booking my appointment with Francis would she now call me to tell me they don't want my business? What changed ? What happened?? I thought to my self I bet Francis realized she was rude on the phone and probably was spooked when I told her that her demeanor and combative tone could possibly result in a poor yelp review. And sure enough that was it, I told Gladis I didn't understand. But ok. So I called another plumbing company who gladly took care of my plumbing need ( mind you this was supposed to be repeat business for them, I had already paid them $500 for a job that Was 1/2 baked 2 weeks ago) . Then I placed a one start yelp review on the "" do it right plumbing"" yelp page. Mind you I am a business owner and when I had spoken to Francis I gave her my business name and address as well as my first and last name. Out of Spite and revenge and bitterness Francis turns around and placed a one star ambiguous fake and false 1 star yelp review on my business yelp page. She made it totally obvious it was her placing a review. she used a fake name or had a friend or coworker or relative place the fake yelp review under the name "" Brittany"". In the review she was very ambitious and just said "" there is a lady there who is rude "" any one who has a ever owned a business knows that true and legit customer complaints placed on yelp are very descriptive, they describe what day and time they visited the business and they describe exactly what they didn't like. That's the whole point of the review. On top of that the we the owners aren't there physically, so we knew it was 100% a lie. Which proves her yelps review is false. She claimed to meet the owner which isn't possible again they just simply aren't there. That was the evidence. You can't say you met someone at a certain location when the person is never there. Period. Francis is a real crazy person. Because when she used the ""Brittany"" account she didn't remember that the first yelp review "" Brittany"" placed was a 5 star review for "" Do It Right Plumbing "" and raved and raved about Francis. Making it very obvious that was a fake review. Why ? Because Francis works for "" do it right plumbers. Francis had "" Brittany"" post a 5 star review about her. And ""Brittany"" also placed a negative review for Francis on our business yelp page. The fact is Francis never was a customer at our business and placed the fake yelp review out of spite anger bitterness is ludicrous . Francis was reading the replies sent to the "" Brittany S"" yelp account and then sends me a direct message saying "" I am not Brittany, I am Francis and I have my own google and yelp account . Right there Francis admitted she used ""Brittany's "" account and proved it was her behind the fake and false yelp review. How ridiculous. Then Brittany posted to our business account a copy of the direct messages. Still denying she was not Francis which is a bunch of lies. Why else would "" Brittany"" post those direct messages? If Brittany was not Francis then she wouldn't care about a perfect stranger right ?? Right. But she does care so she posted them. Here they are for you to see. The whole thing is sad and unfortunate. Yelps should be for paying customers, it should not be a place where fake yelp reviews are placed out of spite because YOU are mad YOU got a bad yelp review. And that is exactly what Francis and Gladis are doing. I hope the owners read this and realize how bad their customer service employees are, this is beyond bad customer service it is straight Libel. And a violation of the privacy act. Francis is a liability to the company.
I hired them to clear a slow draining kitchen sink the technician came out and talked my wife into doing a Hydro cleaning throughout the house the next day we use the washer in the garage and the water backed up and overflowed out of our secondary bathroom shower causing damage to all of our laminate flooring throughout the house. They contacted their insurance company that denied the claim stating we had an existing issue. If the Hydro cleaning would have been done correctly there would not have been an issue and they walked away from the project and charge me $1,800 to do the Hydro cleaning and the next day they fired the technician that did the work. I lost about $8,000 worth of laminate flooring throughout my hallway, bathroom, front entranceway, kitchen and dining area. Video camera showed some roots in the line and that is what they based their decision, but if Hydro cleaning would have been done correctly the roots would have also been cleared out along with all the debris that clogged the drain.
