BEWARE OF USING THIS COMPANY!! MUST READ!!

This is my first post, but the experience was so bad I feel obligated to let others know before it happens to them. I am not sure if they were taking advantage of me because I was deployed on military service or if this is their standard practice.

I called to have a standard residential basement shut off valve replace, ¼ or 1/2 inch not a main line, because of a leak in the valve. Tech arrived and quoted me over the phone $500, I felt that was a bit much and asked for options. I stated that I did not care if there was a shut off at that location, as I could use the main if there was an issue. He tells me he can ""stop the leak"" for 250, which I agree. My friend goes over 1 or 2 days later and there is no water to the bathroom, wash machine, or outside facets. I figured the tech forgot to turn the water on and called asking where he turned if off so we can turn it back on. Long story short, he cut the line and capped the line running to half the house, then wanted another $300 plus to come back out, which would have totaled 550-575 to change a valve. I guess the tech figured I would wash my clothes, brush my teeth, go the bathroom, and water the yard, all out of my kitchen sink. I called another certified plumber who did everything for 140.

Contacted with the management at DM Services. He called me in a timely manner, I explained the situation. We agreed there was miscommunication, but at the end of the day, I never requested water shut off to half my house, I was never told that was what the tech was doing, I felt the price was too high, and I wanted a refund. Once I mentioned I felt I was taken advantage of and got the work done for a fraction, he said there would be no refund and hung up on me.

To be fair, I filled a dispute with my credit card company and provided them the same information, which they agreed with. I will update this with their results to confirm this posting.

This company came out last year and fixed my toilet. They were prompt, courteous and reasonably priced. I highly recommend this company for all your plumbing and sewer needs.

We received a ""Money Mailer"" coupon for DM Services, Inc. for $60 for a drain cleaning with a one year guarantee. The coupon came at a great time, our kitchen sink seems to backs up every 18 months.

I looked up the name of the business on the Internet to see if there was anything negative, did not find anything, so we made an appointment.

The plumber shows up, on-time, and proceeds to tell us that because of the type of service we need (he had been in the house about 2 minutes) that it would cost $195. I said ""no thank you."" We reminded him that we had a coupon; he said he was going to go out to his truck to talk with his boss.

We got our kitchen sink rodded out for $60. I am sorry DM Services, you did the job, but with a scam attached. I would not recommend you. I do not believe we received any special service; the plumber came in with his rodding tool and kept rodding until the water stopped backing up in the sink.
