Rude technician - no help on the customer service side. Will not use them again for anything since they are only interested in charging an arm and leg whether any work was done or not

I don't ever write reviews but this one is warranted. I contacted Dixie Electric and Plumbing to fix a broke faucet valve. The technician, Dewayne, came out and wanted to charge $544 to replace a $7.99 valve. I have repaired these in the past and it would take a beginner DIYer 30 min to replace. The technician told my tenant that the piece had to be special ordered and that it would take a couple of days to come in. The part is sold at Lowes for $7.99. Not only did the technician lie to my tenant and try to get over on me; I compare what he was trying to do to me to attempted robbery. I would understand if the technician had to use specialty tool and deep plumbing knowledge, but the only required tools are a hex key, crescent wrench, and a phillips head screwdriver. Once I contacted Dixie and told them not to complete the work due to the extreme overcharge, it was escalated to Eddie and he waived all charges and offered to do the work for $169 (which is still extremely high for the amount of work). At least they made it right by waiving the $69 call out fee. Glad there are other plumbing companies in the River Region.

I am writing this review with a heavy heart and a sense of betrayal, as I recently experienced an extremely disheartening incident involving Jesse Bailey and his son Brxton Bailey, who visited my home in Montgomery, Alabama, to provide a service. I hired Jesse Bailey for a service, trusting that he and his son would conduct themselves with honesty and integrity. Unfortunately, my trust was shattered when I discovered that they had stolen valuable items from my home, including jewelry, a PS5, and a sound system. To make matters worse, when I attempted to address this issue with the company, I faced an additional layer of disappointment. It is profoundly distressing to realize that individuals you invite into your home for a service would take advantage of your trust and violate the sanctity of your personal space. For the sake of transparency and the safety of others, I feel compelled to share this experience with the Yelp community. Jesse Bailey's contact number is 334-425-1396. I implore anyone considering services from him or his company to exercise caution and, if possible, seek alternative service providers. I have reported the incident to the appropriate authorities, but I believe it is essential to warn others about the potential risks associated with hiring Jesse Bailey and Brxton Bailey. The violation of trust and the loss of personal belongings have left me deeply disappointed, and I hope that my review serves as a cautionary tale for others in the community. It's a shame that this company does not take responsability for this individuals actions. Jesse Bailey & Braxton Bailey (334) 425-1396 3347461531 I feel the company know about them and cover for them sin little to no help was offer by them. Thanks Eddie R. Manager .

The prices/estimates are outrageous. I thought I'd struck gold when I found someone to service my area. Turns out, they are GOLD. I had Dixie Plumbing come out for a clogged toilet. I paid $69 for them to come out and confirm it was indeed clogged. The estimate to unclog was almost $600.00, and this was with the discount for enrolling in a membership program. The technician said it was because they had to use a camera. I've been in my home for 12 years. This clogging issue has been a constant for me. Every couple years, I encounter this issue. I've had the pipes """"jetted"""" out several times. Never before has a plumber attempted to charge even half this amount. The highest I've ever paid was $250. I immediately called another plumber from another area and discussed this estimate. He agreed that this was absurd, regardless of a camera. I suggest you think twice before using Dixie Plumbing or enrolling in their program.

Total rip-off!!! I had a stoppage and was told quoted over the phone of a price of $169, but when I got the final bill for unstopping the line, which still didn't take out the bushes in the line, I was beyond mad. They charged me $600 to do this 15 minute or less job!!! Yes, $600!!!! Why rip people off? They wouldn't have tried a second time if I didn't ask. This is not caused for and should be stopped. I will tell every one I know to NOT use Dixie Electric!

sadly their residential door management is piss poor, rude, and I will not be using Dixie again for anything thanks to some guy Ronny. he had horrible attitude towards me and I heard him tell his tech he was going to charge me double since he thought I was a """"Karen"""". suggest calling elsewhere.

Excellent thank you for your help on our projects. We will call soon again I am sure.

Too busy to respond to our needs. Found another competitor who was willing to respond in less 6 hours.

I have no issues with the quality of work. The two guys from Home Pro (Dixie must have subcontracted them). They were professional and did a super job. It took them three hours to put in a dryer vent which vented on the roof. That is about the right time. Didn't have to remove cabinets or tear up unnecessary drywall. Super job. Her is my issue: $2200 hundred bucks for a three hour job. I get it that no one likes to do this type of small job, so a lot of contractors jack up the prices.

The two service techs were very professional. They identified the problem quickly and installed a GFCI outlet. They scored a 5 stars on promptness, professionalism, knowledge and service. The pricing seemed a little high though for the 30 minutes they spent. Because I was a first time customer, the $69.00 service fee was waived since work was done. That was enticing when I first called but later realized this was simply offset in the work fee. The work charge came out to $156.00 plus a TFS fee of $14.75 (no idea what a TFS fee is) for a total of $170.75. Assuming drive time of 30 minutes and onsite work of 30 minutes, that hour should have billed out at $75.00 to $100.00.
