I went to take a shower this morning and was hit with the power of a pressure washer! Admittedly it was kind of nice. That said, my toilets and sinks were dripping and screaming like banshees when I turned them on or flushed them. Obviously, I had an issue and called Discount Plumbing. Within 2 hours of my initial call, Abraham and Jaime arrived to check out my issue. It was quickly diagnosed and they set off to acquire the parts.

They returned within an half hour and began to replace my pressure reduction valve. This was done quickly and professionally and everything was explained to me along the way.

Although no one is ever happy with a surprise bill, I found Discount Plumbing affordable and straightforward.

Thank you Abraham and Jaime! I would happily work with this company again for my plumbing needs.

I tried to fix my toilet myself that was running non stop! I purchased the replacement parts and watched several videos. Alas, sadly l'm not a plumber!! i called San Diego Discount Plumbing for an estimate. I spoke to a bubbly gal named Tina who was extremely helpful and said she could get someone out today!! Their prices were very reasonable. The two plumbers were Joseph and Ernesto. They were very polite and nice! They fixed my toilet in less 10 minutes! I wanted to hug them both!!! I will be singing their praises and sending referrals their way!! Thank you all so much, you really made my day!

Service tech came out for a simple kitchen sink stoppage $289 I said go then he had to redo the new plumbing underneath and the total was over $650

The drain does not work, the plumbing underneath is not connected with a clean out - I ran and got him parts - TERRIBLE - BEWARE of the RIP OFF

I normally do not leave critical reviews. But I felt compelled on this one. I will keep it brief. We had a property with a clogged tub drain. First time calling this company. Asked for a quote over the phone. They said they do not give estimates over the phone (RED FLAG for just a simple clogged tub drain) and will give a quote once on-site.
The technician arrives and quotes $250! Absolutely ridiculous. Keep in mind this is during normal business hours.
At this point so much time had been wasted. There were many things that were not handled well in addition to this. I asked to speak with a supervisor to discuss. I never heard back from anyone.
However $250 to clean a tub drain, when your company name starts with ""Discount"" is comical to say the least. We have a lot of rentals and they blew it. Steer clear of any business that refuses to provide an estimate for a standard service.

Don't use them. Only thing they did right was come out right away.

Leak and clogged drain under the sink... which they could not fix. Even after taking the pipes off under the sink, mind you they lost the bolts to our garbage disposal, which in the end we ended up buying a new garbage disposal Bêc no one wanted to touch that and the maker of garbage disposal, does not sell the bolts. They snaked it and hydro jet and stated they couldn't get thru and water backed up and splashed out. So, the supervisor Jose came and they used a camera and stated that there is roots in the drain pipes. Hence, wanted to move forward to possibly solve the problem with tearing out a wall or break concrete to get to the pipes.

Being a responsible consumer we got a second opinion. The second plumber used a camera and found no roots and no blocking. (We called discount plumbing (jose) and told them we no longer need their service and he was not that friendly guy we first met.) But to be safe and prudent, the second plumber, recommends Drain Mob who would have better equipment to see and he highly recommended they would be the one to correct the issue since it's a drain problem and since they are old pipes. They can even possibly do chain clean old pipes and even put new ones in with no demolition.

Drainmob came, no roots, snaked it again, and hydrojet. All done no problem , no issue, no hydro jet water back splashing out. And guess what? It was cheaper than Discount plumber and job done in less than an hour.

Had Discount plumbing done their job correctly in the first place and Jose did not try so hard to upsell us? We would've had our sink running over a week ago and saved money having to hire others to do the right thing and buy another garbage disposal Bêc Discount Plumbing misplaced the bolts.

Don't use them!

It has been a few weeks since I posted this review.

The day or two after I posted this review, my boyfriend received a call from the owner(claimed to be and he stated that the conversation was being recorded). He did say, that they are a family owned business and that he read the review. Don't quote me on any of this, but in summary, he stated that he would refund us for the service. We have given them plenty of time to do this. To this day? We have not received a refund. I would've been much happier to give an update that stated they are in fact upstanding and tho mistakes may have been made? At least they are indeed practice good business and ethics. However, this is not the case.

Like from the beginning, we consider this as a great loss and lose trust to many others that we may deal moving forward. And will be more diligent in checking referrals next time with who we decide to work with.

We had a gas leak to our clothes dryer. We did not know we needed a plumber to service this issue but I requested a job thru Yelp and Discount Plumbing Rooter responded really fast which was great because I was able to set up an appointment the next day.

The technician that came out was Harrison. He was awesome! He was super friendly and professional. He fixed our leak by replacing our valve and installing a new gas line to the dryer. He let me watch so I could learn what our problem was. We had the wrong size valve for the gas line we had.

Before he left, he also tested for gas leaks to the dryer after the install and checked our gas connection for our kitchen stove. He also tested our water pressure. Everything is working great!

I regret hiring Discount Plumbing. They're not cheap; people should read the one-star reviews before doing business with them.

I hired Discount Plumbing to install an epoxy liner to replace my main sewer line; they asked for prices on other bids and said they would do it cheaper. We agreed on a price I was happy with, and everything was fine.

Halfway through the project, the main sewer line was cut and cleaned, but they wanted to trench and cut another end of the pipe because of potential issues, which is fine. I expected some possible problems, but they charged me $1,000 per foot to dig, which is absurd. Because of my situation, I had no choice but to finish the project. They took complete advantage of me. No one should do business with them.

WARNING!
This price gouging company is not professional! We.had them come out to clear a clogged pipe from the house to the main in July. Which we do as a yearly maintenance on this main. So we know the drill, how much it typically cost, how long the service lasts until the next maintenance call etc.
After the technician was on site he called his salesman who came out to quote me a price for descaling and hydro jet. Sounded like a plan to last longer perhaps before needing a clear out again. NOT!!! They both leave to gather the equipment needed to do the job. 2 hours later the technician arrives and proceeds to start the service. He's finished in no more than 30 minutes. $2,399.00 and 2 MONTHS later we have the same issue with the same pipe.
I called to get them out again, made the appointment for Saturday 10-12:00. No one showed. I called the office who said it was rescheduled for the next day and they tried to call me. LIES! No missed calls! & why not leave a message???
I honestly do not believe Discount Plumbing performed the service they said they did, (descaling and hydro jet) mentioned above.
I do not recommend this company for your plumbing needs.
Very disappointed.
