The friendly service person arrived promptly, masked, etc. for Covid which was reassuring. He tried to clear my drain but was not successful and suspected the clog was beyond the 50 feet his reemer could reach (I have VERY long drain pipe). He suggested that he return and pressure wash the pipe which would cost in total around $900 and then suggested that the pipe would need to be replaced (it's imbedded in the concrete floor) which would run about $11,000. None of this was high pressure sales talk - just options.

I phoned another company which came out with a 75 foot reemer and succeeded in clearing the drain pipe.

I also read up on replacing galvanized pipe in concrete flooring. It sounds like old pipe can simply be abandoned and new drain pipe put in behind a baseboard or somewhere hidden but not imbedded in the floor. MUCH LESS COSTLY.

Mark H did a great job on the clogged sewer pipe! Did not take very long and was kind and efficient at his job! Would recommend this company over Roto Rooter any day for the cost!

My first experience with Discount was good. It was so good that I called them again when we had a plumbing problem.
Today, my experience was terrible. We were quoted a high price, and it came with an attitude. I'll be looking elsewhere.

Would strongly discourage people from using this service! They arrived over an hour after the scheduled window and while they were here cleaning out our main drain, they damaged our carpet. The technician did not tell me this, I discovered it after they left. When I called to talk with someone, they basically said ""Too bad, you signed the contract so we aren't responsible"" and were very rude. After further reading of the fine print, they excuse themselves from any damage to person or property, and refuse to do any restoration, regardless of how/why the damage occured. I can understand warning customers that toilets/sinks/pipes may break as a result of doing plumbing work. But the carpet being ripped? Not related to the job at hand and just careless on the part of the technician. Very disappointed!

The discount word in their name means nothing. Don't get ripped off by their ""we bid by the job and not by the hour"" The guy came to fix pinhole leak on my property. The job was done in under 30 minutes and I would expect a service call charge and maybe $150/h charge but guess what. You get a $485 invoice. There was a valve that I thought would need replacement and the technician gave me another quote of the $485 for that in addition to pinhole fix charge of $485. It could have been done altogether. Now they will not get my business and told the technician to go. The technician called the office and pretty much lied to them that I'm refusing to pay whereas I asked to talk to the office to justify a $485 charge for 30 minutes of work. After finally talking to main office he reduced the price to $350. Still too expensive. Too bad that my tenant signed the paperwork. Otherwise, I wouldn't let them touch anything. Technician also continued repeating that they are cheaper than others. DON'T GET RIPPED OFF. THIS COMPANY IS COMPLETELY DISHONEST. BTW coupon they have on their site is not even a coupon. It is a waiver if you do the job they quoted to you. If you don't they will charge you $55.

Had Discount Rooter and Plumbing come to do a mainline rooting due to backup when heavy water use (like spinning out a load of laundry, or draining a bathtub). Tech couldn't get thru to the street with a 6"" blade, wouldn't step down to a smaller blade to try either. Said I should have a camera inspection but he didn't have a camera. Had them come back later in the week for a camera inspection which showed roots. They quoted me $6,000 to fix the area, or $12,000 to fix and run a liner or $15,000 if they had to dig at the street. I called ""Ron the Sewer Rat"" for a 2nd opinion and they came and ran a 6"" blade to the street in about 5 minutes, pulling back a nice wad of roots. He ran it two more times to the street and back clean. He detected no grit or sand (which might indicate a significant crack or break that is letting in dirt or sand). I think ""Discount Rooter and Plumbing"" just wanted to sell me a sewer line repair. I'm sure they will disagree, but they sure did a sloppy job and didn't have the adequate equipment to get this done in one call. Do yourself a favor and if you use ""Discount"" be sure to get a 2nd opinion if they want to do any additional work, or if they don't do what you hired them to do. Won't use them again...

We had a sewer line cleaning and camera done by Discount Plumbing in March 2020. They came in and did their job, but afterwards we noticed that we had a drip in the main water supply line which sits a few inches away from the sewer access point. The leak was not there before the sewer line cleaning. When I took a closer look at the source of the leak and touched the pipe, the pipe burst, and we had water flooding our basement without a way to turn it off (the pipe break was near the basement floor next to the sewer access and before our main water shut off valve). It was terrifying. It took 45 minutes for the city of Minneapolis to get to our house and shut off water from the street, but by then we had 5 inches of standing water in our basement. This ended up costing us many thousands of dollars to fix the broken plumbing and dry out our basement, not to mention the trauma of the water blasting out of the broken pipe and inconvenience of not having water for a few days. The company we hired to repair the main water line also believed it was highly likely that the pipe was damaged during the cleaning. Their sloppy work with the cleaning tools and camera cost us a lot of money and I absolutely will not be using Discount Plumbing in the future.

This company is highly rated and has competitive pricing compared to the other guys.

We had a couple of hiccups - which can happen with any company, and they were very fast to fix the issues and solve the plumbing issues I had.

I would recommend using this company for their competitive pricing and excellent work!

We had reached out to a different well known plumbing service in the TC area that had someone out to look at our bathtub drain clog. They told us they would need to replace the drum trap and some pipes and wanted to charge us almost $1,000 to fix our clogged drain. They still charged us $90 just to come out and look at it without even attempting to snake the drain.

So! We reached out to this company instead and they sent Grant out to fix it. He was so persistent at fixing a really tough clog, it took him several hours but they still charged the same price and he got the job done for a mere fraction of the other company. I'm so thankful we called these guys and only wish we had reached out to them first!

They were on time and did quality of work. Their Rooter pricing seems to be a good deal but the pricing for other plumber work is just normal pricing you can find anywhere. Their company name would better describe them if it was ""Discount Rooter and Regular Price Plumbing""
