Worse service, was scheduled after 5 PM on a Friday and absolutely no one showed up. Called several times to always get an excuse. Had to call the following morning because again late again for the appointment. Their technician finally came out and then broke my pipe and then left. I would avoid this company like it is the plague.

Had a mess backing up into our shower downstairs. Called them at 9pm and they had someone here within 2 hrs. Had it cleared in no time. Even took the time to rinse the shower stall out for me. Price was great, especially for a late night, after hrs call. Thanks so much!

I am once again forced to write a negative review, this time for Discount Drain Cleaning, a Flint, Michigan company that snakes basement drains.
I have had minor trouble with other employees in the past, but not enough to bother me. However, on September 19, 2022, the employee's actions went beyond anything remotely professional. On this occasion I was serviced by a guy who repeatedly told me he was the owner's son, Josiah, as though that was important. I had endured Josiah twice in the past and all 3 times he has been abrasive, arrogant and incompetent, but this time I wish I had him on video so I could take the matter to the courts.
On the 19th, the first thing Josiah did was blame me for the price of his service, as though I control his prices. I knew from his earlier visits that he was at least irrational, so I let it pass.
Josiah went down to the basement and refused to do the job I hired him for. Instead he did his version of the work, guaranteeing that it would fix the problem. Because of his failure, I discovered 3 days later that my basement was again flooded. When he returned on the 26th, purportedly to do the work he had failed to do on the 19th, he stood at the top of the basement staircase and refused to go down and see the flood, telling me over and over that he was the owner's son and that there was no flood. Instead, he would see to it that my money was returned. He lied. That never happened. His company still owes me for the work Josiah failed to do.
Further, Josiah used every swear word imaginable while he ranted--bizarrely--about harebrained political conspiracies that had nothing to do with the job. By this point he was out in my driveway yelling at me, and when I told him to get off of my property, he made a move toward me and I slammed the door, worried for my safety. (I'm an old guy.)
I don't like writing negative reviews so I tried to resolve the problem with the owner, ""Mike,"" and called him Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and he has yet to return my call as of today, Friday the 30th.
I respect Mike for standing with his son, no matter Josiah's failures and insanity, but I cannot condone the actions of any man who refuses to honor his own contract. At minimum I expect a full refund, but what I really want is the job completed--by another employee. Unfortunately, I paid with cash, so I've no hope of seeing that money again.
There is much more to this disappointing event than I've covered, but the bottom line is that if you use this company you have a good chance of being disappointed or worse, and if Josiah shows up, I urge you to not let him into your house.
There is zero chance he will ever again set foot in my house.
