DCP Plumbing was the 2nd plumber sent out by my homeowners warranty company First American. I needed my dinosaur of a water heater replaced and the first plumbing company jerked me around for a month without providing any service and tried blaming it on the warranty company. They even tried to charge me $2500 up front for modifications. And in the end they submitted a report to First American saying they couldn't do the modifications necessary. With zero communication to me. It was a horrible experience so I requested a 2nd opinion.
Mike at DCP came out on Monday, he immediately told me that he would easily be able to provide the service. He set the expectation that he would need to get approval and the water heater ordered through the warranty and that it might take a couple of days and by Thursday the technicians were installing my new water heater. Oh, and my out of pocket expense was only $110. HUGE DIFFERENCE. Everyone from the gal I made the appointment with, to the plumbers that came out, answered all my questions and were professional and efficient. They all did a great job and I'm so happy I asked for this second plumbing referral. Mike is fantastic! I would definitely recommend them and will be calling them for any future plumbing needs.

Direct Connection is the worst plumbing company Ive ever had dealings with. After the initial consultation visit it took 3 weeks to get them to return my numerous calls concerning my repairs. I had to complain to my home warranty company. Finally received a repair date 30 days later. On the date of repair, one hour prior to my appointment, they put my repair on hold unless I paid $400 out of my pocket but couldn't tell me why. Even my First American warranty company couldn't tell me. It's a $130 part that is screwed in with two bolts.

The experience with the FAHW contractor regarding the hot water heater failure has been nothing short of frustrating and disappointing. After the initial technician arrived, it quickly became evident that he was ill-prepared for a proper inspection. Rather than utilizing appropriate tools to diagnose the issue, he simply held his cell phone in one hand and took a photo, indicating a lack of professionalism and thoroughness. With no disassembly of the unit or meaningful assessment, the technician left within four minutes, failing to provide any diagnosis or insights into the problem. His only commitment seemed to be filling out the necessary paperwork for FAHW, leaving us in the dark about the future steps. To add insult to injury, we later reviewed the security camera footage which confirmed the lack of a proper evaluation.
After a frustrating ten-day wait through Thanksgiving without hot water, we were relieved when FAHW agreed to replace the heater, though it came at an additional cost of $800 for us. We hastily agreed to proceed, hopeful that the installation would rectify our predicament. However, the complications continued. On the scheduled day for the installation, DCP failed to arrive, only notifying us of a truck breakdown and promising to dispatch a technician the following day. Despite our efforts to confirm this next appointment, the day passed without any technician showing up, and our repeated phone calls were met with disconnected lines instead of assistance.
By day three, the situation remained dire--no response to our messages or calls, an alarming lack of communication from DCP, and FAHW merely offering vague apologies without actionable solutions. It raises serious questions about DCP's scheduling practices: how can a company arrange installations without securing the necessary product beforehand? The entire experience highlighted severe gaps in customer service and reliability, which are not indicative of a quality service provider. Through further research into DCP's credentials, we discovered that their license had expired along with their bonding, suggesting a concerning lack of accountability. Given this troubling episode, I strongly advise anyone engaging with FAHW or their subcontractors to verify their licenses and active bonds meticulously. Additionally, I recommend reaching out to state agencies for guidance on filing complaints, ensuring that you do not endure the same unfortunate experience we faced as we are on day 18 with no hot water.

Our tech was great. He gave us some tips and showed us what to do if we have the problem again.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Was given this from FAHW. I would stay far away from them too! Waste of money getting their home insurance to give you a contractor who reschedules you 3x and fails to show up. In the meantime you waste hundreds of dollars just waiting while the problem is still there for over a week. Absolutely horrible service and will be reporting.

The service was provided directly by FAHW; please try to avoid them. They have poor customer service. We left a few Voice Messages and never returned the call. Even though the insurance advisor tried to get more details from them, someone else was there. The project has been pending for almost a month.

This guy... my homeowners warranty sent this plumber out for a simple stoppage. He spent three minutes looking under the sink. I know this because I saw what time he showed up and then left on my ring camera. I also know that he showed up an hour and a half late even with a four hour window of arrival for leeway. Says he has to get approval from my insurance company to cut into the wall. Four days pass, not a peep. Call the insurance company and this guy says he completed the work. Ended up just getting a snake ourselves and fixed the problem in minutes. The plumber still cashed the 85 bucks I paid first three minutes if nothing though... that's one heck of an hourly wage...

This place is a complete SCAM, they miss diagnosed what was going on with my plumbing and replaced a pipe that didn't need replacing. These guys are complete CON-ARTIST & tried to charge me $1000 above my warranty coverage for nothing. When we called them back to tell them we were having the same problem we got no response and when my home warranty finally got ahold of someone they couldn't come for another 3 days later while I'm without any bathroom or showers. They took advantage of me & my family at a time when we simply wanted to get our plumbing fixed. Where are the honest people anymore? Of course I didn't read there reviews until after they left because I trusted my home warranty company (First American) would do there due diligence on contractors before sending them into peoples homes. If you have a service request open with your Home Warranty and they are sending these guys.... Cancel the request! & Demand they send you a different company. First American should be ashamed to have them on there list of contractors.

I am apart of home warranty, first American. I put in a request for a failed water heater. direct connecting plumbing was assigned. Nick the plumber came out to my residence in Murrieta. He took the cover off used his flashlight and in less than 5 minutes he accessed that the heater needed to be replaced. immediately call a person he knew from all American restoration. they came and said there were walls to be torn out and a resolution. At the out of pocket cost I would have been out of more than $1600 for a warranty heater. There was zero diagnosis done on the heater when there is a sticker that indicates the cause of failure. As a professional and at the very least that should have been first and tell what failed. sadly this company sent plumber Nick that left without at least cutting off the source of the problem, the water. $85 in advance for 5 minutes of uselessness nothings. the star should've been negative 2.

This place is horrible. Their plumbers have no idea what they are doing. Look at their reviews. Run from this place.
