We, previously known as Cooling For Less, has operated since 2010. Our services include reliable heating, cooling, and plumbing services in the local Phoenix area. Our time in the HVAC and plumbing fields has allowed us to evolve with our community and thrive at providing outstanding customer service. I was raised in New Jersey, where my father worked at General Motors. After that, we relocated to Nashville, TN. I studied at the University of Tennessee, where I earned a business degree in Marketing. My professional background in sales since my initial position at Dell Computers. On top of that, I have explored real estate and been employed at a mortgage company for several years before transitioning into HVAC. My journey began at an air conditioning company in Las Vegas, where my entry-level job was in Sales, and I over time became the general manager.

After our first A/C company flaked on us, we were without air for over 3 weeks, our home warranty sent out 1800 cooling. They were here promptly and within a week (long holiday weekend and getting approval from home warranty) our A/C was fixed by Jay! Quick response and communication. Jay was here ahead of scheduled time and we were always notified when he was on the way. Would highly recommend them!

We recently purchased a home with 2 21 yr old air conditioners. ( In fact we walked away from this home twice, before this issue was resolved.) Anyway I got 7 different estimates to replace said ac units & had pretty much decided on a company to handle job, I was looking on Facebook & there was an advertisement for 1-800 Cooling that grabbed my attention, so I called & made appointment for salesman to come out. Next day Jay showed up & did same thing the previous 6 companies did. When he was done he went over everything with me, and after some negotiations we had a deal. The following Monday AM, Grant & his team showed and jumped on the job. Approximately 8 hrs later we had 2 new split AC units up & running. A couple days after the installation was completed the Aero Seal people showed up & Checked entire HVAC system for leaks & sealed the system. All in all from my initial phone call too Jay, Grant & his team of installers the entire deal was handled smooth & we couldn't have asked for better experience.. We highly recommend 1-800 Cooling & their staff to handle all your cooling needs in these brutal AZ summers.

While things have not always gone perfectly, like any good company, they follow through and see that the job is completed and the customer is satisfied. They are friendly and good at communicating about follow up appointments and when the technician will arrive. I purchased a new A/C unit from Gerry at Cooling for Less for our rental property in February 2016, the experience was top notch. Gerry explained all the options and helped us select the right unit at a great price. We had a unit go out at our home July 2019 so of course I called Gerry again but the company name had changed to 800 Cooling and they sent a salesman out. I purchased a new Trane dual stage 16 SEER unit for just under 10K. The installation process was very poor. The person who installed the unit did a very unprofessional job, did not install the filter tray we had specifically ordered and left screws all over my garage floor. We called them back out to fix it, which they did but it was still not great. I had a second unit go out at my house just a couple weeks ago and told them I wanted to speak to Gerry before considering buying another unit from them. After not hearing from Gerry I decided to go with another company who installed the same unit and did an excellent job. While they were here we asked if they could look at our other unit, they did and discovered the second stage was not even hooked up and they installed a controller that wasn't even compatible with the unit they sold us! Unbelievable!! The new company fixed the unit they had installed and even cleaned up the installation job for us. I again called to speak to Gerry thinking he would want to know about this but it has been a week and still no call back.

The technician do good work and show up on the designated time. However, this company has changed dramatically over the 8 years that I've used them. They absolutely do not return calls or emails. Just this Monday they changed the motor on one of my AC units. I was promised an email receipt. I've contacted them every day since with no communication from them and no receipt. I am disputing the credit card charge tomorrow, Friday. One shouldn't have to deal with this type of business. I'd rather pay more and get not only quality service but reasonable business practices.

This company is AWESOME! Summer is definitely here and I had been shopping around for a decent price to clean the condenser coils on my rooftop unit. This is something people should get done in springtime before it gets hot. Checking for prices in Arizona summertime is not wise. In my opinion it brings out the price gouging in companies that can sense your desperation. I laughed at some quotes they were so ridiculous. Finally I called 1-800-Cooling and they quoted me a VERY reasonable price that worked with my budget and fit me into their schedule at my convenience. They sent me a reminder text the day before and forwarded me a link to track the driver's arrival time on the day of the job so I knew exactly when he would be at my house. Extra points for that! I don't like waiting and I don't like surprises. Freddie showed up right on time and got right to work. He was professional, efficient , and cleaned up all the debris left over from my A/C unit. He explained what he was doing and advised me on how to prevent future problems. I paid exactly what I was quoted and was not bs'd with ""extra"" issues. I would highly recommend these guys to anyone. Many people are so quick to complain about a business on yelp but can't find the time to commend one when a job is well done. Great job guys !!

Purchased a new unit from this company in 2014. Great price, great service no problems. Had service since with same result. BUT within the past year the company has completely changed. New manager Josh is aggressive, rude and confrontational. Instead of offering great value they now offer an ever priced experience. Scheduling service used to be a breeze, but not any longer. New customer service individual is also aggressive and a poor communicator. My unit is still under warranty. It needed a new part (part covered by Warranty, but not labor) the labor charge they quoted was outrageous. After long argument with Josh they finally adjusted it to something close to reasonable. Freddy was the service person and he was great. BUT management is bad. I used to recommend this company, but I will never use them again.

Nothing but problems and lack of communication in dealing with Freddy, Sharla and Steve. Having a new rooftop unit installed should not be new to these guys, yet the new unit blew hot air instead of cold. We also got a grossly overpriced first estimate, which we had to negotiate to a reasonable price. Felt like a used car transaction. Needless to say, you can save yourself time, money and frustration by using a professionally run organization and THIS ONE IS NOT.
