Recommended Customer Reviews
We had a leak in the sink of my basement and called DH Stevens as it was referred to my by a friend. They were able to arrange an appointment for me four days later and told me the estimated the price, which was less than I expected. I was fine with the wait since I could use the sink upstairs. When they came, they were very friendly and easy to communicate with. Initially, I just wanted to fix the leakage, but they recommended me replace the whole sink since it was already too worn out. It took them around three to four hours for them to replace the sink, and the ending results were great. The sink looked brand new and I was able to get $25 dollars off from the coupon from their website. Overall I highly recommend this plumbing service!
John B.How are these crooks getting positive reviews? And what kind of deal is is the $65.00 service charge plus $110+ hourly rate? In and out in under 5 minutes to unclog a toilet and I'm out $135.00. I know roto-rooter does this... but I expect it from them. And the SOB's supposedly have a relationship with our apartment building and the management company. They know they have people over a barrel and they choose to exploit it. The most I can do is complain here and to the property management for the shat referral. If I could do more I would.
Louis A.I had a problem with my toilet (it wasn't filling properly). I called DH Stevens and made an appointment, but unfortunately they weren't able to see me for three days. It was no big deal though because they came on time as scheduled and were able to fix my toilet within 15 minutes. I was even able to get a discount on the work that was done (I think they have a lot of clients in my building so I got a ""preferred rate.""). Overall, no complaints. I'd definitely use them again in the future and would recommend.
Jen Z.This company came recommended from my realtor. We had a non-emergent issue with the toilet continually running and also with a bathtub clog unable to be snaked. Overall, prompt and fast service. Charges are reasonable: $175/hour + materials +$75 trip charge.
Avoid! Steve (big guy with pony tail) came to look at my leaking shower. He tried to persuade me to avoid my insurance company, pointed his finger in my face several times, called me ""stupid"", tried to instigate an argument between me and my neighbor, insulted my girlfriend, refused to provide a formal estimate before beginning work, sought for me to admit all liabilities prior to work (and diagnosis), and was told by my management to leave the building due to his inappropriate behavior. His assistant gave me a ""ballpark"" estimate for the work, which was 3.5 times the amount my insurance company would authorize. I went to Jiffy plumbing, who did it for 1/4 the price, and they were nice.
Steven came out to my house early in the morning on a Saturday with pastries to assess my plumbing situation. He was extremely honest and presented me with my options, all of which unfortunately would require massive construction to the inside of my home. I ultimately decided not to pursue the project after consulting with Steven. I respect his candor & honesty, not to mention his warm & welcoming attitude. You can't go wrong with this company. You feel like you are dealing with a friend who has your back!
J K.If you wonder why the plumber has a pungent odor and why they can't go beyond basic problem solving to fix your toilet clog, that odor is probably weed.
Steven's Plumbing provides timely, honest services, at reasonable prices. It is hard in DC to find such quality in tradesmen, but Steven's is just that. They are efficient, practical, and don't try take advantage of you. I have had them out twice and both times I had a good experience. Super refreshing to find these folks.
I wouldn't say they are the best. Just called and they said they couldn't have service to my house for another week. Do they think someone is suppose to stay in a house with a clogged toilet for a week? I'll never call them back. 24Hr Emergency service my butt. That's false advertisement.
Aaron M.We had an issue with a leak that we tried but could not locate. We called these guys and they came out the next day. Alex spent about 20 minutes crawling around with a flashlight. He looked everywhere and found the location of the leak. He told us that it would take about an hour to fix and he had the parts in the truck. We had plumbing work done before so we had some idea what things like this cost. To our surprise, their price was lower than what we were prepared to pay so we readily accepted the estimate.
He started to pull parts out of his van and crawled back to the attic to fix the leak. True to his words, he was done in an hour. He proceeded to clean up the area and pack up his tools. Since we weren't sure if they take credit cards (they do), we had gone to the bank to make sure we had cash on hand. However, since they accept credit card, we now have a load of cash to spend elsewhere. lol
Overall a very pleasant experience.
