Ken is a very good plumber but if you're looking for someone who is reliable he is NOT your guy. He will tell you a time and then get stuck on another job and not show up, not call. This has happened to me at least two if not three times before I realized that staying home to meet a plumber who doesn't respect your time, isn't worth it. Find someone with the courtesy to call if they can't come, over and over again.
Emily F.The first time I hired Ken he fixed my faucet with no trouble, however when I tried to pay with a debit card he said he would charge just a few dollars extra to cover the transaction cost. Fine. But when I looked at my bank statement he had charged me $15 over what he had said the cost of repair would be. That doesn't seem like a fair extra charge to me.
Also, I had him in again to check out the faucet when it still wasn't working about a week later. He told me that my pipe to the kitchen sink had frozen without really checking into much. I then waited over a week for the pipes to ""unfreeze,"" and then called another plumber in to help who told me that the faucet needed to be replaced and that the pipes were fine! I had been trying to deal with a problem that didn't even need fixing.
On top of this, he constantly interrupted me and was not reliable in returning my calls.
Shabooboo R.I had a clogged sewer line causing water to back up into our basement.
I went on line and called first Roto Rooter and Zoom drain cleaning. Both of those services featured first on my Google search. Neither company would give me a price over the phone. They advised that they would send a technician out and only then could I get a price. To send someone out for the estimate is free. So I asked both to come out. Zoom got here first. They used a camera probe and located the blockage 11 feet from the trap. They wanted $340! I imagine most people say go ahead once they have the guy there and ready to go. I declined.
Next Roto Rooter shows up. They quote $420. No thanks!
I go back online and find an add for $95 drain cleaning. Call them, and for that price I would have to wait 2 days. For a higher fee, they would send someone out sometime after 8:00 pm.
I go back online and found DeVore's Plumbing. I got Ken, the owner on the phone. He gave me a price, $165, and was here in 30 minutes.
Needless to say. I'm very happy with this service. My problem was promptly solved and I would use them again.
