Two people came out to install ductwork in a basement room in August. The installation workmanship was very poor. I called them to let them know but declined to have them return as I figured if they were inept the first time, a return try probably wouldn't be any better.

I did extend an invitation to the owner to stop by and see the poor work for himself. He never came by

As the basement was cool during the remaining summer and early fall, we let matters be.

When heating season began, the room was cold. No heat came out of the newly installed register.

After numerous calls and missed appointments, a tech eventually came to look at the non-working duct. His assessment was that the room needed ANOTHER outlet. Yeah right!

Tonight I was in the room. It was cold. In disgust, I investigated the ductwork. The register wasn't fastened to the ductwork! What little air was coming out was going above the drop ceiling, not into the room!

I made a piecemeal connection, but it's not right. The wrong part was used in the beginning. It will need a different boot to connect correctly.

This outfit may do okay on furnace repair - but I would never have them do any ductwork!

Use at your own risk! Called the BBB and found out they were not a member. They also said they had complaints against them.He convinced me to put in new system and there would be a $ 700,00 rebate from midamerican energy and that they would handle the whole thing. Four months later my wife called to talk to Craig and surprise, surprise Craig was in court! Craig never called back. My wife again called back and the receptionist got angry when pushed as to wether she had filed the rebate papers and she was hung up on.when she called back she got the answering machine. We also got a bill for an A/C motor which they NEVER INSTALLED! When we called midamerican energy they told us the system needs to have a test done, to be performed by a certified installer to get the rebate. They also said he was not on their list of qualified installers. They also showed up a day later than promised and hours late with no call to let know what time they would be there. This was during one of the hottest times of July! We never have been contacted by Craig again. He must be in the witness protection program! They are the most unprofessional company I've ever dealt with. Please do your homework before you use service like I should have. I'f Craig does not handle this problem soon,I WILL SEE HIM IN COURT!

Last summer/2015/ our central air stopped working so I called this company. I talked to him about 3 o:clock that day and he said he would be there in the morning so I stayed home and waited for him. He never showed or called. Finally about 4: 30 that day I talked to him, he said that he was just to swamped and forgot. Shows up about 5. Proceeds to take off my capacitor and tells me to turn it on and let him know if it didn't work, it didn't. I text and call several times. Finally texts me back to tell me I need a new system. He never communicates with me again. My husband tells him we are not paying for the part if we don't need it, he tells my husband I am a f....ng liar. So anyway, We just had another company come and put on a new capacitor and the system came on and works just fine. Oh yeah, he actually just shows up one day about a month later on our property to take piece back off without calling or anything. I will never, ever call him for anything, nor will anyone else in my family.

DMH&C is not accredited by the BBB like their website claims.

Here is our experience...

Our 4 year old Lennox furnace quit heating overnight 02/24/2016
We called DMH&C 8AM 02/25 (falsely advertised to be a Lennox dealer)
Craig arrived 6PM 02/25, he blew in a hose to get the furnace working again
Craig ordered a pressure switch but told us we'd only be charged for the labor (due to Lennox warranty on our furnace)
The furnace quit heating again overnight 02/25
We called DMH&C 8AM 02/26 to let them know
John said he'd have the part by Friday (02/26)
We dug out space heaters to heat the rooms we were in
No calls from DMH&C, so we called again at 8AM on Monday (02/29)
John said that they are no longer a Lennox dealer (as advertised), so the pressure switch wasn't in their inventory (we have a very common furnace)
03/01 John called back (the only time that he did) and said that Lennox had mailed the part and he expected the receive it by 03/02 or 03/03 at the latest (we don't understand why it wasn't expedited)
We waited and waited and waited to hear back from DMH&C, but no calls or correspondence of any kind
So, we called DMH&C again at 8AM on 03/10
John said that he had ""just received the part that morning"" (at 8:06AM?) and that he was just about to call us
The furnace is finally working again at 2PM on 03/10 (yes, more than two weeks after our initial call)
It took five minutes to install the new pressure switch
They charged us $80 for the service call, plus a $40 ""warranty claim fee"" to order the warrantied part, plus tax

We won't be calling them again unless we have no other choice, would you?

I just received a false bill for a property and service I know nothing about. I have never used Des Moines Heating and Cooling before and have no idea how they got my name and address. I talked with Craig 2 days ago and he has not called or emailed me back like he said he would to explain why this is happening. He said he had a box of invoices stolen and has had fraudulent activity happening. I just want my name and info to be removed from anything happening with this company.
