Was the only option from American Home Shield. Paid for a tune up through AHS, Dempsey dispatched a technician. Was told a ""tune up"" was only a visual inspection the furnace worked. AHS document clearly states burner cleaning and electrical connection work is to be done. AHS never followed up and took three calls before they told me Dempsey oil reported there was a repair needed. The technician never told me this and I was there the whole time with him. Basically paid $100/ burner for someone to look that the flame turned on.

These guys are absolute crooks! They were assigned to us by AHS home warranty. They didn't repair anything and told AHS that we needed a complete replacement and then invoiced us $9000 for ""modifications"" which they know won't be covered by AHS. Basically we were left high n dry and now AHS won't cover the repairs because these guys were greedy. Further, for $9000 system, they would install a ""reconditioned"" system, not a new one and with only a 30 day warranty for the work and system.
Eventually we found another contractor who gave a brand new system for $7800 with a 10 year warranty. Avoid Dempsey at ALL COSTS if possible.

Literally just got yelled at by whoever answers the phones when you call this company, because I am unhappy that a tech who was supposed to be here between 10-12 will now be here at 4 pm (hopefully?) She threatened to cancel our work order through American Home Shield and said that we would receive a text when the tech is 30 min out ""which is more than enough time to do whatever we need to do so that it doesn't disrupt our day."" I imagine hers is not a very fulfilling job, but the degree to which she snapped on a customer for expressing a legitimate grievance was EXTREME. Based on our experience with American Home Shield thus far, it tracks that they have contracted with a hack company to save money. If you are not being forced to work with Dempsey Oil by American Home Shield, avoid them at all costs. And if it's not too late for you, avoid American Home Shield as well!!

Be careful with Dempsey Oil Inc. This company does not do real plumbing work instead abuses customers for trip charge and inflated bills. Once I had a clogged toilet, the company called me to authorize the work for a $99 trip charge plus around $60 of repair. The technician spent less than 10 min doing the work, using a manual toilet auger to crunk open the clog. He then asked me to sign on his tablet without showing the total amount. Assuming that the bill would be the same as what I was told, I signed the tablet without questioning him. The bill turned out to be $450. The company refused to issue any refund. My home warranty service had sent Dempsey Oil to do the same work before for $125 in total. There is no way that using a manual toilet auger for 10 minutes should cost $450.

Worst plumbing company ever. We got stuck with them twice through our AHS home warranty. First time the guy technically fixed our toilet, but he didn't screw the tank back on right so our bathroom flooded and we had to replace the floor. Second time we had an emergency leak on a Saturday and had to turn the house water off. Called for expedited service, spent all Sunday on the phone with Dempsey and AHS begging for help - ""we don't do AHS calls past 1pm on weekends."" Monday morning, ""we only just got this request"" (a lie) and ""the soonest we can make it is tomorrow morning."" We couldn't take another day entirely without water, so we found someone else. Never letting these people near my house again. Go with Trethewey Brothers instead - they were here in an hour, great service.
