In 1992, we launched as an oil delivery business, hiring family and friends with expertise in oil delivery and HVAC. After several years, the business was handed down to the next generation of Dempsey. This change created new opportunities, such as offering licensed refrigeration services to our clients. We have optimized our communication and focused our team on the most trustworthy and dependable individuals. Above all, we continuously assess ourselves to ensure we remain committed to our goal of delivering personal, quality, reliable, and affordable services. If we are lucky to have you as a customer, we will treat you with the respect you deserve...as a partner in caring for your property. We will partner with you to address your needs and specifications. We will persist in our efforts for you and do everything we can to cultivate this partnership.
The Dempsey Energy company started as a family venture between Mr. and Mrs. Dempsey, the current owner's parents, when Eric was just 18. They brought on friends and family with expertise in oil delivery and HVAC services, allowing Eric to work with them as he matured. He helped with his parents' business while attending school, acquiring practical experience and the technical training needed to advance his career. He looked up to his father, which motivates Eric to maintain the same service standards his parents upheld for years. Eric's family inspires him to strive for excellence, so his sons will look up to him as he did with his father, especially when they lead the next generation of Dempsey Energy. He also finds it rewarding to create a work environment that feels like family.

Water heater request on11/19/23 today is 12/01/23. Nothing has been done. Disorganized. Full of s...
one word- crooks. I so regret using this company to install a heat pump. We received faulty equipment or the technician didn't install properly. after approximately one+ year the heat isn't working and the quoted $4000 to replace the equipment which was under warranty so there is no cost. they do not provide an invoice so we have no idea why they are charging so much. do not use them. we are going to file a complaint with mass save, the state and national grid. beware!
deplorable. there website says HONEST but I can assure this is not true. $60 for a knock on the door. 30 minute ""brain knowledge"" they charged me an additional $170.00. Literally told the tech customer has to pay something for the house call. No tool was present. no work was done. I got professional walk through of everything I already knew. I told them on the phone the issues, I didn't need it relayed back to me. I need action, fixed. I was no better off than when I first woke up that morning except I am now out $230.00. Receipt has absolutely no repair costs, diagnoses or any other wording except the $60 and $170 charge with no explanation of why? I beg you to save your money. I actually teared up when 26 minutes later the technician came back to the front door to says ""that will be $170 please"" "" sign here"". I called the office within the hour to discuss the empty receipt. I was told they would get back to me, no one ever did. I urge you to call a ""hack"" before calling Dempsey, you will get more satisfaction. they should be ashamed of themselves. The BBB has also received this message.
Dean A.I was told $59 to schedule the appointment. Then I received a warning email stating that if I cancel the appointment with less than 24 hours notice I would be charge $99. I was also WARNED that I better be at the condo (investment property) within 30 minutes of receiving NOTICE that the plumber was dispatched. But that he could be there up to an hour after the notice. So, I rushed there 30 minutes after receiving the notice and waited an HOUR before I called. Nicole told me that Garrett Holmes Jr was in West Bridgewater, which is still at least 30 minutes from Quincy. I stated that I was upset about that because I was already waiting, per her WARNING, for an hour. She started getting really RUDE and stated that she is ""not a traffic man"" but that I ""should have KNOWN"" that it would take a long time for him to get there. She was YELLING and trying to get me angry. After the tech finished snaking a bathroom pipe for $350 (THREE HUNDRED AND FIFTY DOLLARS for 15 minutes work), I specifically told the tech to NOT charge my credit card on file because this is another person's property and I was just scheduling the work. Apparently, Nicole decided that she was going to VIOLATE the LAW and charge my account anyway. These people do NOT know how to do business. I manage and my family owns multiple condos and a house - it all could have been business for these scum, but this is the way they treat a NEW CUSTOMER! Stay AWAY! Overpriced and rude, psychotic employee - Nicole!
They charged my 82 year old mom $545 to replace the plastic flush and fill valve inside the toilet tank!!!
This is outrageous and when I called they said they can't breakdown the bill into parts and labor, it's the price for the job!!
Please do not do business with this company.
The parts cost around $30
I called, and they had someone here the same day, a week later my HVAC got installed and it is working beautifully. 3/10/2023
They did a final walk-around and totally cleaned up after themselves. Their estimate compared to other installers was lower than they were. - my system came in three parts one outside unit and two inside.
***UPDATE*** (2/23/23): Contacted ALL STATE PLUMBING in North Attleboro, MA. They performed the job in 30 minutes for $325.00. Still not ideal, but WAY more inexpensive than DEMPSEY. NEVER get a plumber that quotes by the ""JOB"", always get one that quotes by the hourly rate. They will almost always be cheaper, at least for the smaller jobs. REMEMBER...ALWAYS GET A WRITTEN OR EMAIL QUOTE FIRST!!!
Had a Granite company come to the house to re-attach the sink as the original mounts had loosened. They needed to disconnect the plumbing from the left side of the sink and remove the garbage disposal. They could not re-connect as they are not fully licensed for that. Now, I told you that story to tell you this story...
I called Dempsey Energy today (2/22/23) to have them reconnect the plumbing on the left side of the sink (with new strainer) and to re-connect the Garbage disposal. No wire running, no drilling, no new piping. Had all the parts except for the strainer on the left side of the sink. Already paid the $59.00 Dispatch fee. The price I was quoted for a 1-1.5hr job was...
wait for it...
$656.00!!!...Plumber told me that I was getting a discount because a NEW garbage disposal install would be more expensive!!! Luckily, I asked for a quote before the work began...needless to say...the answer was a resounding NO...
I believe that the model Dempsey Energy uses is similar to an Auto Repair Center. They either have a self-defined price or look up a specific project in the ""Book"" and that is the rate they charge (pre-defined hours/Project). If they finish early, you DON'T get the refund. They DO NOT charge jobs by a straight Labor rate. If they did, their hourly labor rate would be $437/Hour for my 1.5Hr job!!!!
Moral of the story...look elsewhere for you plumbing needs...I beg you...look elsewhere.
Beware!!! This company has an awful business model. Refusing to give quote unless you pay a non refundable upfront 59$ to get a tech out. Also, if they mess up, they won't refund your money. Good luck. Staff are nice, business is shitty and techs, well, hopefully they are more competent then the one they sent to our house twice (still didn't do the job they were paid to do)
Despite the pages and pages of negative reviews I decided to call them for an estimate. Low and behold they don't show up, just like everyone else says. This dude prides himself on being a veteran on his website but all the vets I know wouldn't conduct business this way.
Had Dempsey come out to fix our HVAC issue - they charged us $300 to diagnose the problem and did not fix anything. I called because I had not received an invoice and to see what was done while the tech was even here. The rep Nicole who I spoke with was not helpful, extremely rude to the point that she was talking over me and raising her voice. I've never had customer service hang up on me! Your job is literally to answer my questions as a customer. Worst customer service and would never use them or recommend them!!!
