Had a new Rheem hot water heater installed about 3 weeks ago From HomeDepot and their installer-Delta Mechanical- whose name is Louise. The city came to inspect the install, and there was a slight gas leak. Louise came and fixed the leak the next day. A few days after that, I discovered the water heaters' pressure valve was leaking, Rheem said this is normal and I needed a ""expansion tank"". Louise returned to install the ""expansion tank"". And now, I just discovered its leaking in 2 places!!!

Delta Mechanics installed our furnace in 2014, After contracting through HOME DEPOT.
A FRIEND OF OURS WHO WAS LIVING IN OUR HOME DIED IN 2018 she was bed ridden so she occupied the home 24/7 365 days a year.
We were not at home most of the other as we had another resident else where.
In 2023 unbeknown to us our furnace was not put in according to Colorado code and compliance. A lien was placed on our home until we were able to purchase a new furnace and Bring it up to code and compliance.we purchased a new furnace from HOME DEPOT.
Great mistake.
So we're wondering did possible exposure to carbon monoxide contributed to our friends death while she was staying in our home???
We paid $5000.00 for the original furnace and then had to turn around and pay other $5000 for a new furnace and order to get the lien off our home and bring HVAC to compliance.
HOME DEPOT HAS OFFERED US A IN STORE GIFT CARD FOR five hundred dollars for a reimbursement.
We paid $5000.00 not five hundred what an
Insult to injury.Delta Mechanics says they are no longer installing furnace so they are not to blame.
We are gonna sue Delta Mechanics and HOME DEPOT and ask for possible criminal charges of negligence homicide for an investigation to possible CO2 poisoning to our friend.
They call CO2 the(silent killer) so readers be aware over 50,000 period died each year from furnace leaking gas and you cannot know it's leaking all the time.
Are Delta Mechanics and Home Depot scamming us?

We went to Home Depot to get a new water heater and they advised we needed to call Delta Mechanical who installed all their water heaters. When we first called Delta Mechanical we spoke with Michael, the salesman who was okay but then things went from ok to poor. Micheal misled us and gave us a low quote. When the installer came by he confirmed the quote but when he came back to install the water heater, he removed our old one then began to advise us of additional costs for items they had already included. Later we found this is a regular issue with Delta Mechanical as the installer (not sure if he was a licensed plumber) gets a commission on any additional install costs they get. When your water heater has been removed you really don't have much of a choice but to accept these $100 plus upcharges.

During the install Delta Mechanical put in a new expansion tank but later we found out it was much smaller than the one we were told we would get by Michael at Delta Mechanical and what we had paid for. After many calls to Delta Mechanical and being treated poorly by Michael and little response from the owner and/or others, we finally spoke with a manager who said she would take care of the issues. Unfortunately, she went on maternity leave so we were to speak with the owner who never returned our calls. After several more calls we finally were told another installer and would come out and replace the expansion tank and check on the other issues we were charged extra for.

When the new installer came out, he agreed the expansion tank was too small and replaced it at no charge. He also agreed the few inches of added copper pipe we were charged for should have been included in the normal install. After some discussion he did replace one shut off valve with a new ball valve as it should have been done when the water heater was installed.

Michael had told us he takes care of the original warranty with Rheem and would file all necessary paperwork. Checking on the Rheem website, the information was inaccurate. Delta told us to contact Rheem directly since they don't do the warranty - which was untrue because they sent the inaccurate information. When we spoke to Rheem to discuss who we could have make any repairs if ever needed, they also corrected the warranty information. Michael also said he had submitted the paperwork for the extended warranty through Home Depot. When checking, there was no extended warranty. The main office said there was an issue and they had to refund and then recharge and then file the warranty which was done.

It appears these are fairly common issues with Delta Mechanical who appears to be a call center who sends out the service / install to local installers. If we had known what we know now, we would have gone with a local company as you can still get the extended warranty though Rheem. We were led to believe that we had to go through Delta Mechanical to get the warranty and for any warranty repairs. After talking to Rheem we found out this is not true. We can go to any authorized Rheem plumber for repairs and Rheem can give us those names/contacts.

Delta Mechanical is an out of state company and very difficult to deal with. They list a local office but it is an Arizona company. We hope this review helps others to avoid the issues we experienced. You can also see other reviews and the issues they encountered on Home Depot and other review sites.

On March 27, 2023, after replacing my old water heater, I request several days to send a 'technical report'. However, a man who's name is 'Shoter' he send me an email without any technical report. When I asked ""This is not a technical report, it is an email"", his reply was ""this is what I have"". My insurance company told me to submit a technical report. Finally, I am unable to submit because of ""Delta Mechanical"". As a homeowner my advice, don't go to Delta, find other company who are able to prepare the documents for insurance also. I am really disappointed and sorry to DON'T go to DELTA MECHANICAL. They are too much greedy.

This company does not hold a master plumbing license which is required to install water heaters. Also they do really horrible work without permits or inspections.

I made an appointment for a toilet installation on Dec. 30th. Delta service person was a NO SHOW. I took time off work for this appointment-and waited for 4 hours for the installer. I then rescheduled for Jan 3rd because Delta was closed on the 31st- guess what? Delta was a NO CALL- NO SHOW and I have had a toilet sitting in my living room for 5 days. If you are looking for reliable, dependable service, do not bother calling Delta Mechanical.

I had dealt with this company for almost 2 weeks on my Home Depot water heater install. Just had my inspection a month later. Had installed on a Thursday because old one was leaking. Everything seemed fine. Friday I planned to leave town and while in my basement I heard a faint alarm. It was the water alarm installed in the new drip pan that wasn't hooked into the drain line. It was barely auditable. well, the heater was leaking from the pressure valve onto my floor. Was barely making it into the drip pan. Called, got an appointment for Monday AFTERNOON! Well the tech was 2 hours out by 2 in a rural area. I have things to do so I got rescheduled to Tuesday am. Tech came out, installed a new pressure regulator on the line (left old leaking one on) and installed a expansion tank and strapped down the pressure valve line. Well, the good news is the alarm works now. Bad news is that I have a leaking old pressure regulator and the tank is still leaking quite a bit. Called to have someone out and was told 10am. Well, at 11 am I called and was told window is 10-2.... On a leaking water heater? There is no prioritization of emergencies or leaking installs over anyone else. Asked for a manager twice without a return call. Finally the third time was through the inspection manager and I received a call. I doubt they care so Im not sure the annoyance of speaking to anyone with matter. I would never use this company or Home Depot install services again on these types of items. Lesson learned.

I had my water heater replaced by Delta Mechanical. I am extremely satisfied with their services. This is an old house and the old water heater was 30 years old. There were several unexpected problems due to this issue. Chris Seward was the technician who completed the work. He explained everything clearly, he walked me through the process, explained the relevant codes and recommended appropriate resolutions. Chris kept me informed at each step and showed me the work as it progressed.

Amber in their Mesa office worked up the costs and explained that part completely and I understood it when the call was completed. She was extremely professional and courteous.

I highly recommend this company.
