I went into HD yesterday and purchased my water heater and arranged Delta to come out this morning. They were early, and called to let me know. They thought the job would take 2 hours but they did it in about one hour and 15 minutes. Did a very good job and the 2 men were very professional and nice. Reading other reviews it is hard to believe we dealt with the same company. I held back a star only because I haven't had the inspection yet but it appears there should be no problem. I can say I am very happy with the service and the way Home Depot handled it. This is the 3rd water heater (different locations) that I've purchased from HD and have never had a problem. I live in Carlsbad, so maybe I have a better HD here.

I too should have read the reviews first.
Having had other work done through Home Depot before, I pretty much trusted them and their contractors. When my 10+ year old water heater started leaking on Saturday I contacted HD for a replacement and arranged for their contractor, Delta, to come between 2 pm and 6 pm on Monday. They gave a ""lowest price for the next twelve months"" guarantee, so I figured I couldn't lose.
Silly me. At 5 pm I got a call from Delta's customer service department in Arizona informing me that the technicians had been delayed and would arrive by 7 pm instead. They said they were a couple of technicians short, which isn't really my problem, right?
To make a long story short, they never showed. I finally called HD at 8:15 and they got the tech to call me, but I wasn't going to have people working in my house that late at night. Early today (Tuesday) I got a better price from another company, who had a technician at my house by 1 pm. I did give Delta a piece of my mind; as a paying customer, I will not stand for being treated like that. $1,300 my not mean anything to them, but to a homeowner it's quite a big deal, eh?
Never again, and I recommend that Home Depot find a new contractor.

On August 18, 2016, we purchased an ADA toilet through Home Depot and paid for it in full with cash. Delta Mechanical sent a plumber out on the appointed day although he did not call to confirm the time. The toilet was installed and the technician packed up and left. My husband noticed water dripping onto the floor and upon closer inspection noted that the water tank had a huge crack in it from above the flush lever to the bottom of the tank. The plumber must have been blind not to have seen the crack even though he said he had been installing toilets for 41 years. My husband went to Home Depot and spoke with a manager, who fired off an e-mail to Delta immediately. He told us to call Delta and that Home Depot would have a replacement tank for them to pick up and install. My husband phoned the Delta phone line 7 times and was disconnected 5 of the times before even speaking to a warm body. When he finally got ahold of a ""customer service person"" she informed him that the company had tried to call us that morning and had come to our house but that no one was home. BIG LIE!!! We were there the whole time and the phone never rang. The ""customer service person"" inasmuch called him a liar and said that it was not their problem. Back to Home Depot--where the tank with our name on it was still waiting to be picked up. The matter is still in limbo, the tank is still in Will Call at Home Depot and the toilet is still unusable. In all of our dealings with service people Delta Mechanical is by far the rudest and most customer unfriendly company. Home Depot is jeopardizing their reputation by partnering with Delta Mechanical. As we understand it, this is a national contract, therefore its ruining the reputation of Home Depot nationally as well.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS FIRM.... I purchased a hot water heater from Home Depot which uses Delta Mechanical to install these heaters if the customer asks. The installation ""failed"" the required inspection by the city. I called and scheduled (I thought) someone from Mechanical to come and make the necessary corrections in order to pass the inspection. The repairman was a ""no-show"". I called Mechanical once again and was told that someone would contact me that evening or first thing the following morning. No one called..Once again, I called and was told that there had been an error on their part in scheduling the work and the earliest they could get someone was Friday 4-6 pm. I asked for something earlier and was informed that this was not an emergency and that was the earliest available. So new business has priority over correcting their unsatisfactory work. There are less expensive firms around that do good work. My mistake is I thought that if they were affiliated with home Depot they would d quality work and provide excellent customer service.I was wrong-my experience with them has been totally unsatisfactory.

Mitsubishi split system install. The install was done in a timely manner, the techs were competent and polite. Looks great feels great. I didn't like where the condenser was. I called Alex the manager, he came and said, we can fix it however you want"" ! That's good customer relations. Only thing was they didn't call when to inform they may be late. But once I mentioned this, it never happened again. Happy now.

Horrible company! Contracted through Home Depot. Took almost a month after purchasing high efficiency toilets for the company to schedule an install. Hours later one of the toilets began to leak. After mutiple calls to get the tech back to the house, we were given a window way later in the day and they never showed!

Pro tip: Don't be like me and read the bad reviews thinking ""But that won't happen to us!""
Our water heater died a horrible death and I looked up water heater installation through the Home Depot website. I spoke to a rep at Delta Mechanical just after 11:30am and made an appointment for a same-day installation between 4:00-6:00pm. I had an itemized list of what the installation included, a final price, and gave my credit card number and info. The rep was so friendly and helpful that even though I read the horrible reviews on here, I thought maybe they'd made some changes and things were better. Wrong doesn't even begin to describe it.
6:00pm rolled around and no one had showed up or called, so I gave it until 6:15pm and called. My call was received by an answering service, and she said she would have someone get in contact with me. When I still hadn't heard back at 6:35pm, I called again. This time I was told that my information was sent marked as urgent and someone would get back to me. Nothing. So, without a water heater and no plan for getting one installed, we went to Home Depot to buy one and do it ourselves. While we were there, two Home Depot employees who were helping us both mentioned that they contract with Delta Mechanical to do installations and that ""it's a great deal"" and I ""could have them do it tomorrow!"" When I explained our situation and the reason for our nighttime trip to Home Depot for a water heater, they encouraged me to chat with a customer service rep at the store that handles installation appointments.
He not only acknowledged how crappy the situation was, he said that these no-shows have been a trend with Delta and that he's had THREE customers recently experience the same thing! It took him well over 30 minutes on the phone to talk to an actual person, and because he was a Home Depot employee, the answering service for Delta was able to put him in contact with an actual customer service rep. He explained the situation and told them it was an emergency install because we had no water heater, and they assured him someone would be in contact with me that night.
In the end, we stayed up until 2:00am installing the water heater ourselves and never heard a peep from anyone at Delta Mechanical. However, I did just receive a call at 10:30am from someone at Delta Mechanical confirming my appointment for today (?). I explained to her that we do not have an appointment for today and will not be needing an appointment since we took care of it ourselves, and she said, ""Oh, I can see your messages from yesterday here. I guess the rep that looked at them this morning disregarded them because you were on the schedule for today."" I'm sorry, but WTF? If my appointment was scheduled for today, why would I be sending urgent and emergent messages last night?
I understand that clerical errors happen. I can understand that things get busy and our appointment could have been accidentally scheduled for today instead of yesterday. But I have no interest in working with a company so utterly lacking in customer service that they not only disregard urgent calls from both the customer and Home Depot, they continue to disregard them during their normal business hours the following day. Major fail all around.

We had mini split heating and AC installed by By Delta, an affiliate for Home Depot.
Couldnt be happier. Great follow up service by Serge Padrino. Serge took to the time to explain the system and made sure that everything was working properly.
Thank you Serge, Thank you Delta. Thank you Home Depot for the no interest loan.

I had a kitchen sink installation arranged through Home Depot. Jessie was on time and efficient. When sink clips were missing from the box, Delta Mechanical came back out to install them. Each time Jessie arrived when scheduled and thoroughly completed the work.

Worst company ever. I wish we had read the reviews before going through Home Depot for a water heater. Thankfully our water heater was only leaking, so we had time to get another company.
Our water heater was leaking, so we thought going through HD was a safe way to get the work done. We called the wed before New Years and asked for the work to be done on Monday. On Monday morning Delta called and said the tech called in sick, so they would not be doing the work till Tuesday. On Tuesday they show up and see that our water heater is under the house in a crawl space (the space is large enough to stand and walk around in). The tech immediately gets an attitude and says it's a 2 man job, and our response was we told HD that it might require 2 people. The tech then looks at the area and says there is no way drain the tank. He then goes outside and calls the office saying he can't do the job. The office calls and tells us they will not do the work. The tech then comes to the door and says he won't do the work, then says ""don't worry we won't charge you for the visit"" . My wife promptly slammed the door.
We then called Courtesy Plumbing who came out the next day and did the work. It one person 2 hours to drain and remove the old tank, and install the new one. This company is the WORST.
