Delaware Plumbing Professionals
Company Overview
Delaware Plumbing Professionals (DPP) is a family-owned plumbing and drain cleaning service. Jack Delara, the owner, is a licensed master plumber across Delaware, Pennsylvania, and Maryland. Bringing more than 20 years of expertise in home plumbing, I began my plumbing journey in 1994 as a drain cleaner for a large national firm. In 1998, I transitioned to a small, locally owned plumbing business. I spent 16 years with that company, moving from drain cleaner to licensed plumber. Ultimately, I took on the role of managing all plumbing services in Delaware, Maryland, and Pennsylvania.
While I was there, I saw the company evolve from a small, family-like business into the largest residential plumbing, drain cleaning, and HVAC firm in the vicinity. While I appreciated my experience with larger companies, I realized that as businesses scale, they frequently miss the personal interaction with customers and team members. In 2013, I decided to establish my own plumbing business, with the goal of bringing back that personal connection to a trade I love. This aspiration was the foundation for Delaware Plumbing Professionals.

They were hired by Homeserve.com ( warranty company) to deal with holes in a main sewer vent line. in the yard First the reports were not what we were informed was the diagnoses. Then they charged me $ 145 to get the report on there letterhead. It's been a month, no estimates yet, the office staff keeps on changing the appointments, and we have to give our tenant 48hr notice every time She got so tired of dealing with this company she gave us noice. 2 paid for visits and they want to be paid for another visit to go give an estimate on the work. In the meanwhile Fletchers Plumbing came by and they didn't even needed to be inside. Got an estimate the next day
They did call me to see if we were happy, she could not get of the phone fast enough when she realised we were not happy at all
This is being going on now for a month already , still no estimate, not even an appointment for an estimate. They hang up on you then claim you did it.
These guys are awesome! Gave me the best deal on a new kitchen line when it was cracked under foundation. And then my man found an even cheaper way to do it while he was working and saved me another $675. Cheers!
Johnie B.This business installed a broken water heater and refused to replace even though it was within the warranty period.
VERY overpriced! They claim they are better priced/better value than other companies because they give you the price up front (not charge by the hour) and you sign an agreement before they do the work. I was very naive, did not know pricing, so I signed - including for an upsell that they suggested which I didn't really need - and ended up paying $533 for an hour and a half's work (one kitchen sink faucet replaced, faucet provided by me - and two under-sink water valves replaced). When I talked to others in the know, they alerted me to the fact that I had greatly over-payed. I tried reasoning with the service manager after the fact, but he said that because I signed the agreement he's not going to waiver on the fee - other than refunding the $35 dispatch fee. So my recommendation IF you decide to go with this company is to have a knowledge of reasonable pricing for the work you are going to get done. Otherwise you may end up grossly overpaying.
By the way, the front office staff who make appointments etc... are very friendly and efficient. I was hoping the rest of my service experience would be equally good, but sadly not.
Mike was professional and extremely helpful. Fixed everything quickly and answered any and all questions we had. Cannot thank him enough.
Was very happy with this family owned plumbing company. Tyler came out on time answered all my questions & even told me a little about my house. Will definitely use them again. As a woman owned house..nice to be able to trust this company. Thank you Tyler for your honesty & knowledge.
480 to clean basement drain. Got other quotes for 150 -300 ~. Kind of expensive.
They did come out quickly, if you can wait call another plumber.
If you can't call them.
Jennifer F.We woke up to an issue with a backup and water leaking in our basement and within a few hours of calling Tyler was out and fixed the problem quickly. He was respectful of our home- putting covers on shoes/ cleaning up well- and very knowledgeable and professional. Thanks Tyler!
Michelle S.OMG they are fantastic!!! So my mom and I were having a problem getting out home warranty company to get someone out to fix a leak in my mom's home. I reached out to Delaware Plumbing Professionals and spoke with Nancy and she arranged same day service. Jack came out and was very knowledgeable and friendly. He took time to explain to her and myself what the problem was and fixed it with no problems. They did a fantastic job and definitely a reliable service. We will definitely use them in the future. If you're looking for a reputable plumbing company, definitely choose them, you won't be disappointed!!!!!
I called Delaware Professional Plumbers to get an estimate for replacing two cartridges in two different sinks and to have the inner workings of two toilets replaced. I've completed the jobs myself several times in the past but didn't want to go through the hassle again. I complained about the ridiculously high price the plumber quoted for the doing the work, so he slightly lowered his prices several times while trying to wow me with the advantages of having a professional plumber do the job. He was a bad salesman but an even worse plumber. He couldn't do the job that day. When returned to do the job, he couldn't replace either cartridge and had to replace the whole faucets at a greatly increased price. He broke the upstairs sink, and took most of the next afternoon to replace it. I thought he was almost done the first day when brought in a wet vacuum, but it was to clean up the flood he created in my bathroom. He left me with an unusable toilet. He came back the next day and told me the toilet had to be replaced because he was afraid he might break the toilet if he tightened down the conical washer. His supervisor was standing there listening to his spiel and he said nothing to refute the lame excuse. The conical washer was not even part of the job requested, but for some reason he took it off. He told me he could do the job for an outrageous price. I called another plumber. The new plumber fixed the toilet in ten minutes and I paid less the 30% of the Delaware Professional Plumbers price. He even improved the flushing on the second toilet at no cost. I advise customers stay away from Delaware Professional Plumbers because they are rip offs and incompetent.
