Delaware Plumbing Professionals
Company Overview
DPP is a locally operated plumbing and drain cleaning business. The owner, Jack Delara, is a certified master plumber in Delaware, Pennsylvania, and Maryland. Bringing more than 20 years of expertise in home plumbing, I launched my plumbing career in 1994 as a drain cleaner for a prominent national organization. In 1998, I moved to a small, community-based plumbing firm. I remained with that company for 16 years, progressing from a drain cleaner to a skilled plumber. Ultimately, I took on the role of managing all plumbing services in Delaware, Maryland, and Pennsylvania.
During my time there, I witnessed significant changes as the company expanded from a small, close-knit team to the largest residential plumbing, drain cleaning, and HVAC provider in the region. Even though I enjoyed my role in larger organizations, I realized that as businesses scale, they frequently miss the personal interaction with customers and team members. In 2013, I made the decision to start my own business, with the goal of bringing back that personal connection to a trade I love. This vision led to the creation of Delaware Plumbing Professionals.

We had a genuine plumbing emergency-no water. We contacted Deleware Plumbing Professionals, who responded promptly with two highly trained and capable plumbers, Ryan and Anthony. They diagnosed the issue, explained the steps necessary to restore our water and were honest about the price. There were no hidden charges and no high pressure up-sell of unnecessary products. The gentleman were friendly and professional. They took care to use drop cloths to ensure that our floors and carpets did not get wet or soiled.
I highly recommend Delaware Plumbing Professionals and will use them for any future plumbing needs. They provided us with a quality product, installed by professionals at a fair price.
Unfortunately Delaware Plumbing Professionals has a predatory estimating system. They quoted me a price of $2100 to replace a pump in the basement and when I declined the service, they came back with a new quote of $1500 for the same repair. This told me that they were willing to overcharge me by $600 with the initial quote. I did not hire them for the repair, but I find it upsetting that the price was dramatically reduced after I declined the estimate of $2100 and that they are willing to overcharge unsuspecting customers. I ended up hiring Zoom Drains who did the repair for less than $1000and were very professional
I have used this company for over 7 years to handle all of my plumbing problems and installation. In the past, I have thought their rates were okay for the level of service provided. That was until today when I paid $238 for them to spend less than 15 minutes snaking a blockage from the toilet. Definirely a lesson learned for future plumbing services.
Very tidy, respectable, knowledgeable and answers all questions professionally in record timing!
This company is dishonest. The office said to me that the initial fee is $65 for the technician for diagnosis and then gave me some options to consider. But the technician charged me $231.99 for "" Fee for technician to evaluate and write an invoice or report"".
This practice is actionable. i.e., it can be sued over. I have been too busy to do it for the time being.
Stay away from it.
* Well, to be fair. I called the office on Friday, 11/3/2023 and the technician came the next day, Saturday, 11/4/2023. The service was very prompt, but ....
Technician very respectful and polite. Only thing I did not like was the the company does not allow them to replace packing in shut off but required hin to replace shutoff, though I do like the one he recommended much better. He did a very best job in a very tight spot.
Gordon C.Toilet handle broke and shut off valve was leaking. Found toilet bowl also was cracked? So replaced the unit from ground up. Guys worked through the whole operation without issues and did a great job fixing the whole thing. Should be good for 20 years
Paid $727.96 for a replacement garbage disposal plus an hours labor on August 15.
The one half horsepower badger garbage disposal retails for around $146 at Lowes.
Buyer beware I should have checked the price before.
Sales manager very combative and rude when I mentioned how ridiculous their markup was.
Buyer beware as I should have checked the disposal price first. I wouldn't have hired these thieves.
I have used this company 3 times so far and they are great. They are timely, efficient, and they really take the time to explain to you the things they're doing and why. They never talk down to you or make you feel like any question is dumb. Marc Anthony did a great job today, and previous 2 technicians were also great. There are probably slightly cheaper services out there but I am willing to pay a little extra for the amazing and trustworthy service this group provides. I will continue using them for my plumbing needs.
Overpriced, charged me double, as the Tech said, ""this is a very good price!"". ha ha they prey on customers. Always get a second estimate. I did & it cost half the price!
