Bennie B.I've been using this company for quite some time, they have always been reliable, on-time competitive with their rates I had Stephen and the team do a great job couldn't recommend a better plumber
JoAnn C.Love this family owned company! They're efficient, fair and their prices and always pleasant!
Danielle G.We bought a home in August and over Labor Day weekend our air conditioning broke. Luckily, as part of our purchase, we had a home warranty. Del Tufo was selected through our warranty company and they were EXCELLENT. They came out within 48 hours of our initial call and immediately fixed the problem. The two guys who came to the house were so nice. I highly recommend using them. We will definitely use them in the future.
I'm a 12+ year customer of DelTufo Plumbing, used them many-many-times, and have always been, absolutely, 100% satisfied. I have a house in East Greenwich, RI; however, I live in Washington, D.C. and need to rely on trust as I'm rarely in the area. I have never been disappointed with their work as it is consistent with the very best in industry standards and products. An amazing business.
The worst imaginable experience with this company. Disrespectful, unreliable, highly unprofessional, and dishonest are just a few words to describe them. Having moved to a new house in East Greenwich, we needed a plumber to replace some old pipes. The plumber Mike cancelled on us several times without notice with no regard to our schedules and having a new baby at home. Mike did not follow proper protocol with using drop cloths and fecal matter and rust were spilled on our new basement carpet. While doing work throughout the house, Mike seemed completely rushed with no regard to exercising care or cleanliness in a new home with fresh paint and new floors. Upon trying to get this issue resolved in a amiable way, our phone calls were ignored and not returned. Every point of contact and communication with the entire company run family (mom, sister, etc.) was completely disrespectful and unprofessional to the point where I would not feel safe having them in my house with two small children. Dishonest and complete disregard for customer service. I would never want anyone to go through the added stress of having this situation arise along with the stress of new home buying and ownership. I would have paid ten times the price to have a respectful, reliable plumber and for my husband and I not to have had to go through this awful experience.
Steve O.Negative 5 Stars if possible.
My wife and I had a very unpleasant experience with Deltufo. They initially rescheduled us a couple of times so that was an inconvenience since we both work and needed to shuffle our schedules. They eventually removed a waste line out of our basement and didn't put a drop cloth down or any other protection on our 1 Day old, brand new carpet. This resulted in feces and rust stains on a carpet directly below the waste line and all along the carpeted stairs. We saw Mike scrubbing the carpet with soap with water and when I asked him what happened, he said ""It was dirt from the leaves outside."" This clearly was not the case so he was dishonest and not straight forward.
A day or 2 later, we got a call from the mother and owner of the company, looking for a lost power tool (Mike was in an obvious hurry and surely misplaced it) and said, ""you're carpenter must have stolen the grinder because he was also there working on the house.""
I ignored this wild accusation and I'm positive Mike has since found his power tool. Shortly after this phone call, my carpenter who was at the house, said that Mike didn't ring the doorbell (or call me for that matter), and barged into my home in a panic looking for his grinder.
This was unacceptable and extremely inappropriate behavior.
We replaced the carpet and deducted the total from the bill that was sent. We wanted nothing to do with Deltufo coming back to our home after all of this. I tried calling multiple times to explain that we replaced the carpet based on the fact that we weren't too happy about feces being spilled all over our BRAND NEW carpet, being accused of stealing, and having our home barged into. We couldn't trust that Deltufo wouldn't just inflate the bill to absorb the cost of replacing the carpet and the grinder that they now think we stole.
I tried to talk to them in person when they had the nerve to send us a bill (after they cashed my check for the balance) for the full amount of the work completed. Claire tried to ignore me and said she wasn't involved in this and no one was there to speak with me. She said their lawyer was handling it. Needless to say, our subsequent interactions with the Deltufo's (Mother and Daughter) have been nothing but unpleasant and extremely unprofessional. Mike hasn't once returned my calls to speak with me directly (and he is supposed to take over the business soon).
I can't say enough about how awful this whole experience has been. We just moved in to our new home and having to deal with this has been extremely stressful. Even though the mother and daughter have treated us extremely poorly, I feel they are put in the awful position of feeling like they have to defend their son and brother who has dug himself a hole in lie he feels he can't get out of. If Mike had nothing to hide and wasn't responsible for this (which is impossible) he would call me back and have a conversation with me. Everyone makes mistakes and all Mike had to do is take accountability for it from the beginning and we could've worked something out (although I would've still demanded they replace the carpet). He chose otherwise and continues to deny it. The pictures of the stains that show a trail of feces from the waste line to the top of the stairs and the fact that my wife and I both saw him trying to clean the carpet, prove otherwise. It is concerning that he was caught red handed but still feels like he has to deny it. It's clear he has some learning to do if he's going to run the family business. His sister, who is admirably and viciously defending her brother despite all evidence against him, has a lot to learn about separating family emotions and business if they want to continue to have a successful business.
Please think twice about hiring the Detufo's so you don't have to experience what we have gone through.
Ryan C.First off, I would like to say Michael with del Tufo is a very knowledgeable, polite, & and all around nice guy as well as a great plumber. With that being said, my company recently had an issue with a boiler going down in the basement of our apartment complex. I had paged the on-call tech after speaking with Claire. When the tech (Dave) finally returned my call, I immediately got the impression he just didn't feel like coming out for the call. He met me with every excuse possible, from ""I don't have any parts with me"", to ""I was out there three weeks ago, what do you want me to do"" (we ordered the parts they needed, contacted the office for an appointment, and never to be heard from again). Finally the tech told me ""too bad"" and hung up the phone on me.
This is not the first time I've had an issue with this company. I have never met a company with more excuses. I get it, its after hours and nobody wants to come out, but this is a 24hr emergency company. It's going down to negative degrees out and we have a downed boiler. If that is not an emergency what is. If I had ever talked to one of my residents that way I would have been fired on the spot.
If you have a choice to go elsewhere, then go! Definitely consider this could happen to you.
Great company to work with, nice family run atmosphere and the plumbers are super knowledgable. A++
I cannot say enough great things about Del Tufo Plumbing. I have used Del Tufo several times and have had excellent and prompt service every time. It is a family business, as the Mom answers the phone at the office and they ""boys"" are out performing the work. On two occasions our furnace would not turn on, so I called Del Tufo. On both occasions they were at my house immediately and were able to get the heat back on in short time. One of those days happened to be Christmas Eve morning so I appreciate their quick service. The main thing that sets Del Tufo apart is honesty. With no heat on a cold winter day, it would have been easy for them to tell a novice like myself that I needed a new control board or a new furnace, but instead they showed me it was a much simpler fix. In fact, they even showed me a few things to try on my own if it happened in the future.
It is hard to find honest people that do excellent work, but I am lucky that I was told about Del Tufo plumbing by my realtor when I purchased the home.
Work was ok, though they had to come back next day to fix a problem with one of the repairs. Crazy high labor rates though! Be VERY sure to get a full written quote up front, $130/hr is way beyond local market rates.
