Called Del-Air because AC unit was leaking and float valve was not working, my closet was flooded. I was told by Gena that my annual maintenance would that cost 79.95 and would cover the clogged condensation line. Also since I purchased an extended warranty when I had my AC installed the float would be covered by my extended warranty at no charge. However when their tech came out he informed me that it would cost me $90 for the part plus labor. I told him that Gena had told me their would be no charge for the float valve since I had an extended warranty. He still wanted to be paid for the valve so I did not have it fixed. Instead I called and spoke to a supervisor who told me that it was not covered and she did not know why Gena told me that it was except she was a new employee, less then 90 days. They had Gena call me and tell she was sorry for giving me misinformation. I feel that they should honor what they tell the customers not play a bait and switch game.

After a higher than expected estimate, they came back and found the issue for a fraction of the cost. I appreciate the second effort.

It's sad that we live in a world where companies will not stand behind their products or their customers. We have been dedicated Del-Air clients for many years, and have come to expect nothing but the best from them in customer service and A/C Maintenance. That being said, our most recent dealings with the company have been less than satisfactory. We bought a new Carrier unit 8 years ago, and have been through 4 compressors since then. Every time we have shelled out the money, and Del Air has not shown any concern for the frequency of these happenings. Our most recent compressor replacement came just 4 weeks after our scheduled maintenance. Why am I paying Del Air for maintenance if it is doing nothing to maintain the system. I can flush the line myself, I can replace the filter myself, is the maintenance not there to catch these sorts of issues before they become bigger problems? The latest compressor was replaced (another $1400 to Del Air), and we noticed that the temporary blue filter that we have received on all our other compressors was not there. They came out and did a line test, but it is hard to trust the results, how do I know you just don't want to admit you messed up. We have reached out to the parts department numerous times, and have not heard back from them. Del Air won't even try to help us when we reach out to the manufacturer of the compressor. No one will help us, and we are constantly forced to pay more money for a problem no one understands, no one wants to solve, and no one wants to take the blame for.

Absolutely horrible service, do not use them. My elderly father called them to service his air conditioner and they ended up blowing his transformer and termostat. He had to end up paying them for their faulty work since he could not get customer service. Impossible to believe anyone would give them a 5 star rating.

I have called and tried to reach their """"service"""" department numerous times this morning. Finally I called back in and spoke with an operator who said the service department is available but there's just an excessively long wait time because of the number of people on hold. I get it, growing pains. Expect 1 stars until you can appropriately staff your business. And for the record, I've never actually been able to do business with Del Air. Their sticker is on the inside unit/component of our second floor at our house. So, being as they originally installed the systems and put their stickers on them, I figured they would be the one to call for service or replacement. Guess not. It's 2017 Del Air, while we your customers are on hold we are also on google looking up someone else... Think an extra pair of hands to answer service calls is expensive? Try calculating the business you are losing. Good luck.

I called Del-Air to check out our A/C unit. Our house has three thermostats for three independent zones of our house and only one was not communicating to the A/C unit to cool the area of the house so it was obvious the A/C unit itself was not the issue. The issue was with either the thermostat or the computer that communicates to the A/C unit. I had a local HVAC professional from our neighborhood look at it and he provided a temporary fix but he recommended I call Del-Air if it happened again since it was their equipment. Two Del-Air employees, Eric Montelongo and Anthony Wilkinson arrived at my house but Anthony was not wearing a Del-Air uniform and instead, wearing very dirty clothes. I immediately explained what I had already done and what I wanted them to look at it but it was clear that there was a communication barrier because they would immediately start asking questions to answers I had just provided in my explanation. They would continue to ask similar questions that I had already answered throughout their check of the system. Due to their lack of listening to my explanation, they wasted time in looking at other areas of the house and unit that were not of a concern. After about 1.5 hours, the identified it was the computer in the thermostat, which I originally told them it was. They then proceeded to uninstall and do a hard reset of the thermostat, which proceeded to fix the problem. They also made me feel dumb because I had some vents closed in areas of the house that a not used and insisted that I open them. I asked for a bill and they left the house. I assumed they had left but about an hour later, while me wife and I are preparing dinner, they just walked into the house like they owned the place. We have two infants and two dogs that went crazy at the intruders. They said that they needed to prepare the bill and must have been in our driveway the whole time. The invoice was charging me for their $79 diagnostic fee along with $106 for a """"customer supplied thermostat"""". Essentially, they were charging me for the same thermostat that was in my house the whole time, as I did not have an extra thermostat to supply to them. I called customer service and escalated the invoice. They had a supervisor, Harold Summers, call me back the next day in which I explained the scenario again. He was also not listening to my concerns as he almost immediately resorted to threats to send the invoice to collections if I did not pay for the thermostat that was not provided. I asked him to escalate it sooner and he provided me with his supervisor's, Richard Fortin, number. He also heard my concerns but had a tone that I was a deadbeat just trying to get out of a bill and did little to empathize with my experience with his employees. I am still waiting on a resolution but regardless of the outcome, I could not recommend using a local, independent HVAC contractor enough. The diagnostic charge is fairly uniform and you are more likely to get a technician that will LISTEN to what you have to say and not treat you as a deadbeat or an idiot.

My moms ac was not draining and Dan came, spent almost 2 hours just trying everything to unclog it! He was awesome and they call right before they were coming to let me know! I didn't have to sit around and waste time which to me is important! Great customer service! And didn't rip us off with crazy charges after they came!

Very happy with the service my aging parents received from Del-Air today. I live out of state and fear that my parents will get ripped off easily by contractors they hire. When we visited them this past Easter we noticed water dripping from their A/C unit and encouraged them to call for service. My parents chose Del-Air, because of the familiarity with the company, knowing they have been in business for years in the Orlando area. When they called they were told about the $69 tune-up special and crossed their fingers that a tune-up would solve the problem. The tech that came out treated them wonderfully and did a thorough job cleaning out the system and stopping the water leak. Most importantly, he stuck with the price and did not try to sell them any other service. My parents were very happy and I am relieved!

I was quoted $1200.00 for a blower motor installed in the air handler, a motor readily available online for $125.00 to $250.00. After a little research I found the motor was fine and all I needed was a capacitor. $10.00 and 10 minutes it was fixed. That is just wrong!!!

Cool stuff Still being relatively new to Florida and usually just there in the winter, we didn't recognize how important air conditioners were. Not just for comfort but to keep nasty, funky, slimy and moldy things from growing and proliferating in the Floridian house. Because of the cool breezes off the water we don't even have an AC in our Rhode Island house so when our unit in Florida stopped working we asked friends for a recommendation and they came up with Del-Air. We called the company, talked briefly over the phone, and they sent over a service guy. Before the repair guy showed up I talked to several neighbors and was shocked at how expensive these central air conditioner things were. But then the units were huge and they cooled the entire house and not just one room. When the repair man showed up he poked around with the AC and announced that some kind of blower thing kicked the bucket. We considered ourselves lucky that the whole thing didn't need replacement and told him to fix the thing. He did some work and within a couple of hours the AC was working again. Since I knew virtually nothing about these types of ACs, I asked several Floridian folks that I knew about the pricing and they all thought it was fair. And the slimy, nasty, funky and moldy things retreated back into wherever foul darkness such things go. And the house and it's human and feline occupants were saved. We wouldn't hesitate to call these guys again.
