Well I cannot say enough how much I appreciated working with Darryl and Powell heating. I originally was using a different company and had a really bad experience. After lots of research Powell came highly recommended from a commercial company and lived up to my expectations. He came in at a lower price than the other companies and had the workmanship that you hope for. They were easy to get a hold of despite it being the busy season. Installed a new AC unit and made sure there were no leaks. Highly recommend Powell Heating!

I called Powell about my furnace problem. They gave me a reasonable quote. The technician called before he came that same day. After a short time, my furnace was working the best and quietest it ever has. I could not be happier with the service.

I was referred to this company by one of the local commercial HVAC companies. I scheduled them to look at a central humidifier and give an estimate for replacing or fixing it. During the phone conversation it was never mentioned that they would charge to provide an estimate. They showed up, spent about 20 minutes looking at the humidifier, told me it was broken and it would cost $1,000 to fix and charged me $80 for a ""service call"". Needless to say, I was very upset that I had to pay $80 to have someone tell me ""it's broken"" (well no sh*t). The technician had a really horrible attitude and so did the secretary when I called their home office. Both responded with ""well do you think we work for free"". I dont expect people to work for free, but providing estimates is pretty much a industry standard since people shop and compare prices. Estimates are not actually free since business include that in their operating expenses and their prices. I read Yelp review all the time but this is the first Yelp review i have ever written, that's how strongly I felt about my experience. Hope this helps someone steer clear of this company.

I had a problem with my York D90 furnace so called : short cycles""
I initially contacted another co. in Sparks, whose sticker was attached to the furnace, indicating
there were working on it in the past. Their technician correctly diagnosed the problem, but gave me astronomical price for the part-10X of what it is on Internet.
The tech from Powell not only replaced the control board for a reasonable price, but also indicated that wiring was wrong, which I suspect the guy from previous co. did to force me to come back to them.
it was fixed under 1 hour term and the owner- Darrel honored my senior discount, which certainly a nice gesture.

Monte is wonderful! He was here in the winter when our heater wouldn't run and did a great (quick!) job getting it running again. He was just here again when our A/C wasn't working and quickly replaced the broken part and we are happily cool again!

I contacted Powell for an A/C repair. The inside fan stopped running. Fortunately it was not really hot at the time this happened. They were able to accommodate me fairly quickly but asked for morning appointment as the furnace is in the attic and it can get rather hot working in there. I had no problem with this. The service man arrived promptly at the appointed time and went to work right away. Problem turned out to be burnt out relay on circuit board on a very poorly designed York unit. (As a side note, I would not purchase a York if I were in the market for a new unit or building a home). He performed a through inspection to ensure there was not an underlying reason which would cause this to happen. The price was reasonable compared to what the charges are these days. I am extremely confident with Powell's work and the service man was very professional and an asset to the company. I would call them again if service were needed.
