Recommended Customer Reviews
A W.I usually do not write reviews but felt compelled to in this case.
John DeGrace Plumbing is by far, the best contractor I have ever delt with!
John personally responds to every phone call the same day.
They provide an estimate which is less expensive than others while providing
superior & exceptional service. From beginning to end, the men are respectful, friendly & very knowledgeable. You can see they enjoy & care about what they are doing.
This is the second time I have used DeGrace Plumbing.
The first project was replacement of all the plumbing fixtures in my home with minor repairs & alterations to my plumbing system.
This past project was the replacement of my hot water heater.
Both project were 10+ stars & a job very well done!!
Thank you John DeGrace for being old school with a personal touch!
Trustworthy, Respectful & Master Plumber!
Dishonest plumber. That is one of first words this plumber told me. ""I am not a dishonest plumbing."" Then why say it if it isn't true especially upon a simple first inquiry of the bill. My elderly parents used John Degrace plumbing for a leak under their sink. It only leaked when they turned on the cold water. The hot water was fine. The technician oversold my dad who could be talked into anything due to his advanced age. They told him everything needed to be replaced. The faucet the hot and cold water valves, lines, faucet, drain pipe, basket all said and done it was about $1100. My mom called me about the bill before the work was completed. I tried to talk to the technician to see what they were being billed for but he would not talk to me. I called the company's main number to stop work to further discuss the work and got a call an hour later after the job was finished. The owner said they needed everything. He refused to give me an itemized bill at that time, rattled somethings items off, and demanded payment. He said he had pictures of what was broken and did not send those either when I asked for those as well. Their house is old in rough shape and my elderly mother still works to make ends meet. In short the house and the kitchen that really needs to be replaced did not warrant a new faucet and everything. It only needed a repair. The bill was more than her 2 weeks of her gross salary. They really probably needed a supply line. The same plain unilever faucet the owner said he sold my dad for $250, I found in Home Depot for $149. I even found a similar cheaper one for $89. They pretty much did the same thing as a prior review that I read after the fact. The technician would not speak to me and obviously called the owner who told him what sell based on the fact the owner said he had the pictures of what was broken. Again these pictures were not shared with me. There is a difference to ask for a repair and to replace the whole setup. The hot water never leaked so at least that part did not need to be replaced (at that time anyway) including the basket and basket (that is separate from the facet). I feel they took advantage of the situation. I did not get itemized bill. I asked for the old parts which were not left or returned. They do unnecessary work to add overpriced materials and labor that unnecessary pads the bill.
John DeGrace has been my plumber for many years. I trust him to tell me the
truth and to do the work at my home as it should be done. I know John takes
pride in his work and respects each and every one of his customers. John and his well-trained men have installed a completely new heating system in my home. The work was very complicated and done in a timely way so I was not without heat for too long. This new heating system has saved me thousands of dollars and works like a dream.
John and his team also installed a new beautiful bathroom as well at my home. John personally handled all of the many aspects of this project. His overseeing every detail of this project made my life so much easier. I had confidence in John as well as his team that whatever decisions were made
would be exactly what I wanted.
John DeGrace has very high standards and these standards are what his men exhibit as well They are professional, knowledgeable, polite and a pleasure to have working in your home. I know I can always depend on John to be there whenever I have a problem. He returns your call quickly, has his men there in time and there is a confidence that the work will always be done correctly, on time and always to their high standards. John and his team will always be the team I look to when I need an outstanding plumber.
This company was fantastic. They were very professional, friendly, wore masks, and were very knowledgeable of how to fix the problem in my home. They came the same day I called them and did the job in a timely manner. I highly recommend Degrace Plumbing and Heating.
Marinajohn C.The worst dishonest plumber in our State. Please chose anybody but him, will be an improvement. He tries to build up the bill and steal from you at any and all costs. His workers call him from outside and get directions from John behind your back to repair things that aren't broken. He tried to charge me $750 to replace a $10 wax seal on the toilet and replace the lead band which was not cracked or broken. He uses PVC everywhere as he can't work with pipes. They lied and said it was cracked and needed to be replaced. He could never work in New York City where PVC and Pex are illegal. Moreover, he could never deal with New Yorkers or New York City Consumer Protection.
Erica S.Thank you for the awesome furnace repair service!
My husband hired John Degrace plumbing this winter to fix our furnace which turned into a month long debacle being mismanaged by another plumbing business. I should name them here for what they put us through, but I'll leave that to my husband's discretion.
Suffice it to say, John Degrace's team showed up at our home and had zeroed in on the issue and fixed it within 3 hours. I can quote my husband as saying, ""from introduction to cleanup, these gentlemen were courteous, knowledgeable and professional.""
Thanks John Degrace and team. You came into our home and left it better off than when you arrived. We were grateful for your service and will definitely use you again for our plumbing needs. Ps, you blow your competition away with your excellent customer service. Please, keep up the good work.
We recently had a complete bathroom remodel by John Degrace Plumbing. They did a spectacular job. From start to finish his crew was professional and started on time every day. They kept the work area clean on a daily basis. Our house is very old and the walls and floors are far from being even and square. They made sure that everything was squared up and done correctly. I would recommend them for any of your plumbing needs. They also replaced our boiler a few years ago and did a great job on that as well.
Nate B.John DeGrace runs a top notch operation. His plumbers are on time, friendly, competent and (most importantly, in my case) problem-solvers. I am renovating a kitchen in my historic home and made the mistake of buying appliances and cabinets with no clear way how to plumb them all to the existing gas service - uh oh! They figured out how to reroute everything to save the project and keep me on-time and in-budget. I also signed up for their annual boiler service and I couldn't be happier.
Excellent service - they were the one hassle-free part of my entire renovation (including electricians, waste management and several other contractors).
Great plumbing service. Phone call was returned and appointment was giving. Plumber showed up on time, knew what to check and fixed my leak from the second floor shower. Friendly and clean. Price was fair and guaranteed work. Saves me from the stress of thinking about it. Will call them for al, plumbing issues.
I can't say enough great things about John Degrace Plumbing. I had had a bath tub leak for almost 2 years and spent way too much money on another plumber who tried to fix the problem 3 times without success. John answered my call immediately and I had an appointment set up for 2 days later. Two plumbers came out and were on time, incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and professional. One of them (John) looked around and spotted the problem, showed me the cracked ring that was causing the problem, fixed it and cleaned up in under an hour and the price was much lower than I expected. I have finally found my go-to plumber and will be using only them for any and all issues I have in the future!
