Made an appt. for sewer line cleaning. They cancelled it saying too busy that day. Rescheduled with an agreement for a discount for the visit. The tech. said he couldn't do the job alone and would have to get another helper. That more than doubled the original quote. Other services I dealt with in the past did the job with one tech. I declined. No discount was given for the service call as promised. My calls about not applying the discount were brushed off and emails disregarded.

Had an emergency call for a backed up floor drain and DC Annis sent someone over within a hour. Mitch was very professional and he spent the full time frame at our place to clear out a clog in our main line. He ran, from what I saw, the snake 3 times, 2 to clear and 1 to make sure it was cleared, each time with different cutters. Needless to say, we were a happy customer in the end.

Have used this company for past 10 plus years for routine maintenance and major clogs, have been satisfied with results, until today, called for routine main line cleaning, Adam showed up seemed a bit arrogant but who cares if you get the job done, so he brings a smaller auger in and proceeds to get it stuck in main, took some time to undo and tells me he pulled sand out and thinks line should be shot with a camera to see what's going on, I agreed to pay an extra $185.00 and another person showed up, ran the camera and did not see anything wrong, what Luke told us was Adam did not use a large enough auger and got it hung up on roots, well seems like I was scamed to pay for camera when Adam didn't use proper equipment to start with. I will find a new company for next year, beware some of these guys get paid extra for the additional services they get you to sign up for.i will ask more questions next time and won't be so gullible, although I thought I could trust them. Bad idea.

These guys suck! They came out to unclog the sink in the master bedroom. Said they didn't want to run a snake because it may end up in the neighbors sink. The town home next door. They left without doing anything and still charged a $90.00 service call. DO NOT CALL THESE GUYS!! RIP OFF!!

HORRIBLE ! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
This company was hired by the buyer in a real estate transaction to determine why a floor drain was slow. The buyer paid for a camera inspection only.
The employee determined the floor drain was clogged. He said the main sewer line was clogged with tree roots that took it from 4 inches to a mere 1 inch. He also said it looked like a hole was present in the sewer line.
When I questioned him where the hole was he came out with different numbers.
He claimed something was at 110 feet which would have been the middle of the street.(The city would be responsible),he offered to clean the floor drain at my cost, I told him no thanks.
I called my plumber. He was surprised the clean out where the camera would have been placed was not disturbed, Nothing moved in the area, paint cans surrounding the clean-out not touched.

We had Mpls//StPaul heating and plumbing come and clear the floor drain and camera inspection.
I had my plumber at the inspection.
NO tree roots, no hole in the sewer line, clay tiles looked like new. Flushed the toilet several times and free flowing water visible on inspection.

I called DC Annis on recommendation of my local plumber who does not clean main water lines.

I set up an appointment earlier in the week for today. The service window was between 2-5. No one showed up nor called. I called at 5:15. No one at the company was there to respond. A messaging company relayed my call to someone who eventually called.
When I told him it was okay that he was behind, but that a call would be nice to say he was late, he didn't apologize or care.

He said he would call within the the hour and be at my house. An hour and a half later, I called again.

No one called back for another hour.

I left a few messages with the answering service (they were very nice!). Eventually, I said I would start Facebooking and tweeting about how BAD this business is.

A technician called back and said he could not come to my house because the owner said I was trying to ""destroy his business.""

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!

BEWARE.1 star is too high of a rating. First issue, the technician had his work phone on speaker, and his co worker yelled F-you and the Tech yelled back shut Brian! The tech didn't know that I heard him, and I was too worried to say anything. Luckily, my 3 year old daughter didn't heard this. Second, the drain that was worked on started leaking. Before the tech came it didn't leak. He explained that is what the signature is for. A ptrap gets old and these things happened he explained. I was furious at this point. The dc guy left, with no advice to fix this issue. I called the office and was told I would get a call back by Bob. I never received a call. So I called roto rooter they fixed the ptrap for me and gave me a discount because of what had happened. I will never recommend DC Annis to anyone. Unprofessional employees and the owner doesn't care about issues you may have, which I thought wasnt the case with small local companies. Guess I was wrong. Don't make the same $119 mistake I made. Research and use well established companies.

PLEASE DON'T USE THIS COMPANY.

They did an incredible amount of damage to our home on a routine shower clog, forced us to take them to court, we won the judgment 100%, and they still will not pay.

My wife and I recently had DC Annis Sewer out to our house in South Minneapolis for a routine visit to unclog our shower drain. They sent out a super young kid on a Monday night who dragged in a old machine up our stairs and went to work on our shower. He was a 'bull in a china shop' and jammed the power snake into our drain with no apparent skill or finesse. He filled up the tub to show that the drain was unclogged and when he let the water out we heard it downstairs....he had blown through new pvc drain pipe and the water came through our ceiling destroying our new furniture, oriental rugs and hardwood floors.

The kid took no responsibility for it, still asked me to pay for the visit and told me to call his owner in the morning. The owner Bob Immerman was an arrogant businessman who took no responsibility and instead told me to take him to court because the contract they make you sign before they start any work releases them of any damage that they may do to your home.

My wife was 9 months pregnant at the time. We were left with no choice but to take them to court to get our money back for the damage. WE OF COURSE WON IN COURT as the judge confirmed it was negligent behavior and they were at fault 100% for the damage.

Now they wont pay the judgement. Wont return phone calls. I have to now go through the courts, get the sheriff involved to get a lien on their company.

It is too bad because all they have to do is accept that they made a mistake, take responsibility, and pay for the damages the court determined they should pay. But they still wont.

Please do not use them. We have told so many contractors throughout St Paul and South Minneapolis this story and everyone is going to recommend to never use DC Annis Sewer.

DC Annis Sewer came to my house to run a clear out on your sewer line (which was draining but starting to gurgle occasionally) and has a known low spot 40 ft out

they get their clearing tool stuck

it takes hours (during which time you attempt to help them), and a second tech with a camera to determine that the line has been broken and their tool is stuck 11 ft down a 100 ft line.

They take their tool out, reconnect the plumbing and leave a mess.

They claim the line was already broken (when a previous camera failed to see a hole here) and say that you should pay 170 for the line clear out and an additional 100 for the camera they put in the hole to find out how to get their line cleaner out.

Do you pay these people for exposing if not causing thousands of dollars of damage to your home?

If that is the case, plumbing is the best business in the world. You get paid whether you provide service or not...heck...you get paid even if you make things worse!

I could go to the grocery store, buy milk, drink the milk, get ecoli, and would have no recourse because the ecoli could have been in my glass rather than the milk.

I could take my car to get fixed, have them break the transmission, and pay them for breaking it with no recourse - even if the transmission was working when I drove it in.

The best part of this experience is a toss up - the financial hit this has provided me? or the joy of mopping up my basement with bleach last night...or the condescending lecture I just got from the plumbing manager who has been doing this for 25 yrs and can prove without a shadow of a doubt that this is my fault and how I am getting a 186.00 discount for this ""service"".

He is probably out 100-150 bucks in tech time for this issue that has costed me thousands of dollars and feels the need to hit me up for money for a failed service.

It's been a while since we needed Annis Sewer's service -- fortunately -- and it only now occurred to write a review. These emergencies are never convenient, right? Annis had a guy at our door within 35 minutes of our call (late night, IIRC) -- we live in Burnsville -- and he was knowledgeable, efficient, cleaned up after himself, and the price was very reasonable. I will not hesitate to hire Annis again if the need should arise. (knock wood)
