DB's Plumbing and Drain
Company Overview
For many years, DB's Plumbing and Drain® has been providing top-notch plumbing services to the homes and businesses of Northern Virginia. Our journey began as a modest drain cleaning company, and we have grown into a full-service plumbing contractor, proudly serving Woodbridge and its neighboring communities.
Our commitment to quality and honesty ensures that we will never upsell unnecessary services or overcharge for subpar work. We invest time in thorough evaluations to ensure we correctly identify the issue. Our goal is to resolve the problem correctly on the first visit, backed by an industry-leading guarantee.
Founded in 2008, we are a family-run and military-owned plumbing company. Our priority is to do what’s right for each job, not merely what benefits the business. Our motto, ""Done Right the First Time,"" reflects our low callback rate and the expertise we bring to every job.
With nearly ten years in the industry at a prominent company, David Buky leads DB's Plumbing and Drain. David saw that personal service was often overlooked in the industry and aimed to bring it back. In the wake of the 2008 economic downturn, he aimed to show clients that they deserve the best in their homes, not just a repair technician. You can count on David’s promise that every technician is drug tested, background checked, and trained to be courteous, providing a professional service. Ultimately, it’s your residence.

Traci C.We are so impressed with the quality of the service we received from DB's Plumbing and Drain. Everything from the first contact by phone to schedule, to the texts explaining who was coming (including photo), to the service call itself was seamless! Tommy arrived right on schedule and promptly took care of our issue, first explaining two options and sharing pricing for both. He also took time to answer my questions and offer solutions. Having had a not so positive experience with another local plumber years ago, we are happy to have found an honest, reasonably priced family owned business to support. Highly recommend!
I have Toto toilets that had begun to 'squeal' and leak. I checked out the reviews on Yelp and decided to send a message. I had a call-back very quickly. I didn't recognize the number so once I listened to the message from Rachel I call back. She indicated they had someone in the area (Old Town Alexandria) that afternoon and we set up an appointment between 5-7:00pm. Chris sent a text message (with a photo for security) indicating he was en route and would arrive soon. Was a great experience! Everything about the process was professional and I'll definitely contact DB's again if I have any further issues.
Anna C.Today we discovered our sewer line was backed up into our basement! OH, THE HORROR.
However, after recalling a friendly plumber experience at our business, we reached for the phone & called up ol' DB's Plumbing & Drain.
Within an hour a professional & knowledgeable member of DB's team greeted us at our door. WHEW. What a relief! Especially when there is sewage involved.
When you're dealing with this type of (literal) sh*t, it's hard to care how much something costs, because in the name of all that is holy you just want it to be fixed! But, even with that inflated-sense of bank account, we found the pricing to be TOTALLY REASONABLE.
So, if you want a company who is upfront, does it right, reasonably & with a smile on their face, this is the one.
J N.Just moved in and quickly realized our basement STINKS! We spent a couple thousand dollars trying to figure out where septic gas was coming in. Two other plumbers and a septic company came out, charged us, and left without being able to figure it out. These people all said they checked the pipes in our house and there were no leaks.
From the first couple minutes we noticed David had more knowledge and experience than the others. Within the hour he located 3 large holes in our pipes at various locations! At one spot there was a section of mostly-rusted-away rebar extending through both sides of the pipe- leaving 1"" holes. These we quickly and expertly repaired. Our basement smells great now- we are able to enjoy our family room!!
We will NEVER use another plumber!!
Dipak A.Not a good experience in my case! Price is very expensive. I asked to give me a quote when I made an appointment but they didn't give me one. They charged me just for tech to come out and take a look at the plumbing issue I had.
Charles G.I don't get Guy B's review, for a few reasons.
1) If the price wasn't worth it, then they didn't have to take the job
2) Gas work is dangerous as hell! It's a LIABILITY for a company bcuz if something goes wrong, the house can blow up. The cost of that just for liability alone, to even TOUCH the job, is worth the $400 alone.
As a scuba diver myself, I know that even with the most highly trained diver, sometimes equipment can malfunction or extenuating circumstances can occur that put the diver in a challenging or dangerous spot. And even the most professional trained cave divers sometimes do die (have an accident leading to drowning).
This doesn't mean the diver- OR in this case, a gas company- is ""unprofessional"", or ""not skilled"" etc. It just means that equipment can malfunction and even the best person may once in a blue moon, make a mistake.
I don't think ""Guy B""- in all his glory- would mess with a gas pipe that could blow up a house for just $100 bucks. If that's his thing, then hey, but I seriously doubt it.
Anyway, I don't think his review is reasonable whatsoever; I feel like he probably just doesn't understand or care to understand plumbing and gas, or respect the liability and seriousness of a job of that magnitude; so I wanted to give my 2c on it
I had this company fix a leaking pipe at our home and they did a good job finding the leak and stopping it within an hour. It was within the Insurance's companies expected cost so their pricing seems normal and fine. The service tech was friendly, helpful, and professional. I agree with DB's that some people just plain old fashioned hate blue collar people and think they don't deserve to earn a fair living like everyone else in this area. And that's a shame
Very quick response to my online inquiry. DB's Plumbing advised that they do not do the specific work that I was looking to have done (major bath remodel), but they offered to help with installation of items they do handle. I will contact them again for future plumbing needs.
Julia G.Would NOT recommend this company- we asked for repairs that were not completed. They did not fix the problem 700 dollars in charges then wanted an additional 350 to fix what should have been repaired on the first trip. Management not at all helpful to reconcile issue.
We had a problem with our kitchen sink pipe and David came out to hydrojet, the very next day after I called! I found the company because of the great reviews, and they certainly lived up to them. David and his team were fast and so thorough. They explained everything and when they were done gave us tips in how to maintain our pipes. We were really impressed and I highly recommend them!!
Alana J.After reading the bad reviews and not letting the positive ones cloud my judgment, I do think the cost/quotes at this company is a bit suspect. Seems like the main concern, based on the few negative comments, is the cost of service. I felt the same way regarding pricing. I knew I overpaid because Ive had the work done before by a another well known company and their price wasnt as high. Other than the price, I do think they know what they are doing and are very professional when they are doing the work. The tech was nice and helpful. Overall, I would say if you are desparate to get the work done fast and done right and you dont mind paying the extra money, even if you can through another reputable company, this place should be ok. But definitely get more than one quote if you can if you have time to do it.
