The Day Worker Center of Mountain View is a non-profit organization that connects day laborers with employers in a safe and reliable environment. Created by local business owners, community members, and church leaders to deliver job-matching services for many local homeowners and businesses each year, we aid employers in discovering dependable, skilled, and friendly workers while empowering workers to improve their socio-economic status through education, advocacy, and job training.
All workers and employers are registered with the Center, and many have a long-standing history of dependable and courteous service. The Center asks for input from all employers and keeps track of each worker's performance. Both parties gain from a structured hiring process, clear payment expectations, and a bilingual staff to aid communication.
The Center charges no fees to workers or employers.
We look forward to fulfilling your requirements!
María Marroquín, our Executive Director, has been awarded Woman of the Year and has received various honors for her efforts at the Day Worker Center of Mountain View.

Linda S.This is a great pace, I want to speak on behalf of these people because they are good people. Everyone deserves a decent livng wage these Workers have to pay very high rents to live in your area. I pay as much and sometmes more for a job well done in Tracy. Pease consider giving these hard working people a chance. Their prices are so fair and they are screened and qualified. I would give anything to have a place like this nearby inTracy for my home improvement and gardening projects. I work in Mountain View and I do stop by the Center to make donations when I can. I believe in these people and I admire their strong work eithic, please consider giving them a chance for all your handyman and yard projets.
Bradley Q.I used the day worker center last year to help move us out of our home. i got great support from a dayworker who spoke english well enough to understand our needs and help us move in. With a pregnant wife and little planning for this move, the day worker center provided us with just the help we needed. No complaints.
Needed a car wash really badly, and some friendly, eager workers cleaned my car in less than 10 minutes. They even offered me water while I waited.
Kathy P.Heavy lifting and large yard jobs are the worst! Whenever we need anything bigger than what we can handle around the house or yard at my grandmothers house, we call the Day Worker Center. They always have someone who can get to her house and do the job.
We have never had a problem AND we have gone in on last minute notice and got help - it's great!
It's way better than going over to home depot and dealing with those guys, at least I know the Day Worker Center has legal workers.
Oh, btw, I like the new place!
We've hired people from the Day Worker Center for moving our stuff from home to storage to new home several times and absolutely loved them. They work insanely hard, and are thoughtful and competent. We generally provide lunch and something above the standard rate, plus a tip because we know what a great deal we are getting. These aren't your standard commercial movers who just want to get your crap on the truck and get moving - these are caring people who want to take your treasured possessions and treat them like their own. Oh, and we don't speak a word of Spanish, so don't think that's a barrier. Because they are thinking about what needs to be done and not just standing around waiting for orders, communication isn't a problem. In fact, it's kind of fun. The only regret I have is that we don't have more work to send the way of these excellent people.
I have used Day Workers from the Mountain Center for a number of years and have never been disappointed. I have used the workers mainly for yard work but also for housekeeping. It is a wonderful organization and the workers work very hard and do very good work. I highly recommend them
Nancy N.My husband and I have hired many, many day workers for the Day Worker Center over a period of 8 years to mostly do yard work including laying a sprinkler system, taking out tree roots, digging trenches, weeding, planting, etc. While the quality of work ranges we have had really hard working people. We have recommended the DWC to many of our friends and will continue to do that. Just last weekend my husband surprised me by getting my vegetable garden planter boxes ready with the help of one day worker!
Brooke B.I have had the good fortune of working with the wonderful folks here at the Day Worker Center on multiple occasions and I am always so pleased and appreciate their efforts. These guys are eager to do the job and do it well. They aren't afraid of hard work, dirty work, or even detail work. Over the months these guys helped me to load multiple dumpsters, empty a house, clean up the yard ( a MAJOR undertaking) and paint-each with the necessary skill set. They are so good at what they do, not afraid of work, and fun to boot. I am always laughing with the crew as we bust our butts making it happen. I LOVE this resource and hope to have access to these folks for the years to come.
We needed someone to help us with light landscaping and gardening and were totally happy with the worker they provided. Oscar was great-friendly, eager to help, careful, and a good eye for what looks natural in a garden. We had to remind him to take breaks now and then! We would certainly recommend the Worker Center and especially Oscar for gardening work
Sanket K.Moving sucks. Moving companies can suck and can be expensive too! We were moving just a few miles down the road and already did much of the packing ourselves. What to do?
Off a recommendation for this place, we hired two workers to help us move and we were very pleased with their work. They worked hard, were careful with our stuff, courteous and nice! We paid them $15/hr for their hard work, provided lunch and gave a tip at the end.
They have day laborers that can do many things and when we need help, we will reach out to the Day Worker Center for that help.
