The Day Worker Center of Mountain View is a non-profit organization that connects day laborers with employers in a safe and reliable environment. Established by local entrepreneurs, community members, and church leaders to provide job-matching services for hundreds of local homeowners and businesses annually, we help employers locate reliable, skilled, and friendly workers while empowering workers to elevate their socio-economic conditions through education, advocacy, and job skills training.
All workers and employers are registered with the Center, and many have a long-standing history of dependable and courteous service. The Center asks for input from all employers and keeps track of each worker's performance. Both sides benefit from an organized hiring system, transparent pay expectations, and a bilingual team to facilitate communication.
The Center imposes no fees on workers or those who hire them.
We look forward to fulfilling your requirements!

We used them to move houses and they were professional, courteous and very reasonable. I would highly recommend them

we have many little projects in the house that needed done quickly and couldn't find any handyman that can come help us immediately. the Day Worker Center of Mountain View came to rescue and we were lucky to have Joseph G. finished all of them in 2 and 1/2 days.
Joseph was prompt, courteous and very respectful to our property. his work surpassed our expectations, and his attention to details was a bonus. one can tell that he takes pride in his work. we were very grateful.

We needed to move a whole lot of stuff from our upstairs bonus room into a storage facility on our property so we can do a remodel of the upstairs. Anna and Maria from the office assigned Timothy and Fabian to take on the project. I was SURE they would need at least 3-4 hours to do the project. They were done in just over 2 hours!!!!!
The workers were polite, cooperative and efficient. Worth every penny we paid them.

I had over 30 boxes from old equipment stored in my garage, I know it was a big job to break down all the boxes, seperate the paper/plastic and foam. I decided to try the Day worker center. I went down, they assigned me a worker his name was Juan form Chile. He broke down all the boxes, seperated all the paper, plastic and foam, bagged the foam and put all the recyclable items into the recycle container. I would definately use them again.

They are polite, courteous, efficient. They consistently supply polite and hardworking men and women for household chores. They call you afterwards to make sure that you have a good experience and, presumably so they can weed out the less than good workers.

I contacted Robin and other staff at Day Worker Center of Mountain View for a big yard work. I needed a team of 4 who can used multiple types of pruning equipments, for a variety of trees. Robin and staff provided me with a great team who worked diligently and easy to communicate with. We started at 9am, and ended at 6pm. That was a very productive day. I definitely will come back for further assistance in the future.

I hired a gentleman to help plant some azaleas. Our garden looked lovely after he was done with it. He was polite and professional. He understood a little English and I speak a little Spanish so we got by just fine.

I have used this center twice (or once rather and the 2nd time the guy who had signed up, never showed up). I have found that they significantly up sell the skills of the workers. I am happy to help day workers with earning some money, but just because they are a non-profit does not preclude them from being honest and professional. The first time I picked up someone, I was told he was very proficient in the task only to find he had little to no experience. The second time, the guy wanted to work on Sunday - I drove 20 mins to the center and waited there for another 20 mins and he never showed up. I left a message at the center about this and no one bothered to call me back to apologize or explain. I think that firstly, the Center needs to be honest about their workers' skill level. From what I have seen, they can mostly do tasks that don't require training or experience. Second, they need to follow up on each appointment with the customer. This will give them a better idea of the skill/ quality of each person that they send out. Otherwise, this will simply remain a concept that looks good on paper and not work in reality. They have a pretty home and yard that they seem to have built with corporate donations and/or tax payer money. Its time they earn their keep.

Today I employed men frim the Day Worker Center for the second time--both times for small moving jobs. Both times the men were friendly, cheerful, and courteous, and, maybe more important, quick and efficient--reallr good experiences.
Today, I needed help on fairly short notice, and the office was very responsive and helped me get help even though I called late in the morning. I appreciated the way the office kept in touch and set my expectations realistically without over-promising--another good experience.
I'm really glad to have this great resource with terrific workers and terrific coordination so conveniently located in Mountain View.

This place is awesome! We reserved two workers to help us with moving. They were the nicest, most hard working people ever. They know how to handle each piece and arrange them in the truck to save space. They work fast and efficient! We just love them! Please respect their hard work and tip them nicely, they deserve it! And this center should get a national reward or something like that. Thank you, MV day worker center!
