With a 1967 GMC truck and a passion for HVAC, I founded Michael Davis Heating and Air Conditioning in September 1972. Since then, my one-man operation has evolved into Davis Services, Inc., one of South Carolina's leading heating and cooling service providers.

they are a complete ripoff they charged me 460 dollars to install 60 dollars parts. check prices with others who can usually do it for half price before you sign on dotted line.

I called them to come fix my AC unit and they charged me $364 to clean my coils and add freon and did not even bother to look at the capacitor. My unit never blew cold like it should have after their fix and it went out again totally on Saturday. I tried to contact them Saturday and their answering service never picked up. I called Sunday, got a response and was basically talked over rudely and condescended. I was contacted by the """"supervisor"""" who tried to blame it on a storm and basically called me stupid, talked down to me and was an all around arrogant jerk who thinks he knows all. Little did he know I have a BS in Electrical Engineering and what he tried to blame it on is absolutely ignorant and beyond what is possible from a physics stand point. When called out on his ignorance, he responded with snarky, one word responses because he knew he could not bully me into going away. I have seen many reviews of people who they have done this to in the past. Their service of equipment and customer service is woefully terrible once you get past the people who set up appointments. I feel sorry they have to work with the like of the techs and that """"supervisor"""" Billy. Avoid them like the plague.

Our air condition did not work. A technician came and charged us $ 89 to inform us that our air condition did not work! He then recommended to have this checked for $ 240 and that checked for another couple of hundred dollars. He had no idea what was wrong and did not make an effort to find out for the $ 89. Why we had to pay the fee for nothing is beyond me. Never again Davies.

Very dissatisfied.Sent a technician out to my house due to my unit being froze up. The technician immediately blamed it on being low on freon. I told him that I had just had a service guy at my house the day before and he said the freon was fine, but he insisted that I call Davis Services because of warranty issues. I told the tech from Davis Services what the previous serviceman said it might be and he went with that( without ever checking).To make a long story short I did not need the very expensive part that was not under warranty. My air handler evaporator coils were dirty and stopped up. If I had listened to him I would have spent a ridiculous amount of money fixing something that was not broke. If the tech from Davis Services would have done his job he would have known this. I feel like he was trying to take advantage of me being a woman. My unit is working just fine after being cleaned no thanks to Davis Services.

We were very disappointed. The work was so so. The tech tracked mud through the living room and they aren't taking responsibility for it. i was very upset that they were were so callous.

Had a slow leak according to Spartanburg Water. Decided to try Davis Services since we had good experience with them in the past for HVAC. Receptionist very helpful and got us scheduled for service the next day. She called back and said they could come out same day because of a cancellation. The technician Woodrow was knowledgeable, professional and courteous. Excellent communication, work not rushed. His advice was solid. Price reasonable with no added or hidden charges. I will definitely use Davis for plumbing again.

This company does not treat customers well. They look for any chance to charge for a service call and diagnostic fee. We had to call them 3 times in 3 weeks and the last tech they had was the icing on top. Bruce came to check the thermostat out which we had just replaced and knew worked for the home for several years, and he says the thermostat is the problem. He suggests that we buy a $50 retail thermostat from him for $200 and we would be A ok. We asked if we could just buy the thermostat retail and put it in ourselves and he said no, you will blow a fuse. I asked if there was a reason that this would be wired poorly to make a new thermostat not work, but he insisted that we were incapable of doing it. When discussing pricing options I had my wife on the line and he laughed at her whenever she was trying to discuss pricing options or what was happening with the system. He then states that he has other customers to see and we can't be wasting anymore of his time. I guess we aren't customers huh? Thanks for your stellar service Bruce. Never use this company if you would like it fixed the first time.

our toilet stopped flushing and after calling several other companies, I contacted Davis plumbing again. they did some insurance work a few months prior with good results. we also had an issue where it sounded like air was coming out of the sink faucets that we needed checked. the plumber arrived at approximately 120 pm. he checked the toilet and then it seemed like 30 minutes later, he gave us a quote for 342.00 to replace the flushing device. we asked for our military discount and even with a calculator could not figure ten percent of 342.00 which is 34.20 leaving is 307.80. I had to tell him that. he went back to the bathroom and started working and then came down and told us he did not have a part for the American standard toilet and it might be cheaper just to buy a new toilet. after a while, he left and went to Lowe's for the part and disappeared for close to 90 minuyes. Lowe's is 10 minutes from our house. he installed it and then told us the sinks needed new faucets but we had time as it was not an issue at this time. three days later, we went back to trying to use the master bath sinks again. one had no issues, whereas the cold water was turned off in one, my husband went and was going to turn it on but water was now leaking into the cabinet. called Davis to report this and their response was why did it take you three days to use that sink again and nothing else but we can come out and replace the faucets, and of course charge you big time. they did not believe their tech would turn off the water and not turn it back on nor not tell us it was leaking. we have bowls under the sink catching the water now until a new person we hired could come out next week,

It s sad when a previously reputable company becomes the worst. Service call for non working AC. Tech comes out who has a bad attitude and misdiagnoses the problem. Says the condensation line is clogged. Says he fixed it. $188. Two weeks later and the problem is back. Sends what they call a senior tech out who once again tells us it is the outside condensation line. Then tells us we need to spend $2400 for him to pull out the coil and clean it and install a new condensation line. But, my husband has been in the attic and looked and the drip pan is dry. Husband knows that the clog is between the unit and the drip pan. Tells the 'senior' tech and you can see his face realize he was wrong as well as the first tech. Goes up and cleans that and now we have to pay again. We cancel our Advantage plan and my husband tried repeatedly to call the service manager to let him know of the incompetence of his personnel. Can only get an answering machine and never gets called back because they no longer care about the customer. Run from this company. When they say to feel the Davis difference it is ANGER.

Very good work, but VERY PRICEY. I recommend getting 2nd opinion. we used them because they were available and we wanted work completed before Christmas.
