When the property manager started using Davila's Plumbing, repairs were actually made, not fumbled. Luis is so eager to please in scheduling that he'll offer to come later at night than I feel comfortable requesting, when it's a non-emergency item. Luis says that the PM contract gives him a lot of work and keeps them very busy--and I'm thinking that the gist of most of these reviews is that he's going to have to hire more staff!

Our just-fixed problem is our tub/shower: very slow drain (in spite of hair removal from the drain itself as well as the drain cover, and several applications of drain cleaner) to the point where one showers in standing water, and there is never a funnel in the water outside the drain. Lots of sludge from soap left behind, as well; and the spigots & diverter were very difficult to turn off. Imagine, it takes both wet hands to turn each knob. Same for dry hands.

Sergio found a definite obstruction a few bends down, and did what he could to clear it. It is so lovely to have shower water that drains properly! He even cleaned up some of the scum.

We ourselves hired Davila for what we thought was a leak in the washing machine, but he discovered that it was something more properly handled by the property management, and let them know.

We wouldn't hesitate to hire him again. All his staff are pleasant, willing to explain as much as you want to know about your particular reason for calling them. It's my belief, from seeing several of his staff, that everyone is bilingual Spanish/English--so are the staff at my ophthalmologist--which is very valuable. The truck has a message about beating other estimates up to 15%, so if you think you're being taken by other plumbers, call Luis.

Now if only the PM could find a replacement for the current ""maintenance & repair"" firm, on the order of Davila Plumbing, I would be overjoyed.

We have worked with Luis Davila and his operation for some years now and always been satisfied - they have been out at our place for multiple things. Including a new kitchen faucet install, multiple shower cartridge replacements (I finished one, but the two others were really stuck due to corrosion), blocked drain clearing outside the house, etc..

Luis is honest, explains things thoroughly and he and his guys do good work. One time, we had a newer person from them, but it turned out to be more difficult than we expected (I had tried to remove the shower cartridge myself first and knew it might be a difficult thing to avoid braking the pipe behind the wall). i am glad the guy said that he was uncomfortable continuing and they sent a more experienced person later - I think it was Abel

Anyway, I have recommended Davila Plumbing to others, and they have also had good experiences. Luis has personally come out to help me with a blocked drain outside our house and gotten things working again - the first person I called wanted a few thousand dollars to dig our driveway up to get to the back-flow valve that needed replacement!

I called Davila back in early January because my toilet and tub were suddenly backing up, and I had two pre-existing clog issues with the kitchen and bathroom sinks that I finally wanted to get rid of. Luis is a real nice guy, he's a calm rockabilly dude who listens and explains things in detail and offers various scenarios. First, a guy named Josh (I think that was his name, sorry Josh!) came in the afternoon, and tried snaking the drains, but it wouldn't budge. The next day, Josh came back with ""Pickle"" (lol, his little brother), and Luis and ran the cam as far as they could. They found a few trouble spots, which in the end we agreed to fix as minimal as possible (for now), including digging up pipe and replacing a damaged section. Oh, and they installed a riser with a plastic cap also. They ran water for a good while to check for any more stoppages or leaks, and then ran the cam again and it looked good! Got a DVR movie of my sewer line with Luis's remarks on it, as they go down. I still have an issue that needs to be addressed, but could be put off for awhile. I'll be giving them a call once I am ready to have it fixed! Thank you guys! :)

First, I want to start by saying that am a person who typically doesn't do Yelp reviews, but in this case I made an exception. I am usually very skeptical when it comes to some plumbing companies. I have had bad experiences with many- from jacking up their quote/estimate because they can, to not showing up on time.

So, I was relieved when a family member recommended Davila Plumbing Company. Right away, I could tell this was a different kind of business. When I called and spoke to Luis, the owner, I could immediately tell that he is someone who loves his work with a passion and a pride that is rare. He scheduled me in, and even walked me through a temporary fix over the phone.

When the van pulled up, it was right on time. Wow! Right away, they were able to locate the problem and walked me through the process for repair. The rest of my pipes were throughly inspected and thankfully, another small leaking area was found before more mess and water.

Typically, in the past, I have always been nervous at this point because this is when most companies will prey on your desperation and move the prices up. Not with Davila Plumbing. I got a very fair and reasonable price, and I even decided that this might be a good point to have a couple other things fixed around the house that were bugging me.

My headaches are gone. I no longer have to stress when it comes to plumbing issues around the house. These guys are straight -shooters and I appreciate their timeliness and value. If you are a person who values honesty, integrity, and good old school fair business practices, then these ares the guys for you. If you are a person who values solid, clean work from people who love what they do, then this is the company for you.

Not only were they prompt in setting up our appointment, they gave us discounts we hadn't even known to ask for, snaked our kitchen drain, and replaced our garbage disposal, which has run for six months straight, no clogging, noise-making, or anything! I would not consider hiring this company again. My clogged bathroom sink was snaked a few weeks ago. I was assured that the problem was corrected. Few days later my bathroom AND kitchen were backed up. I was given numerous excuses as to why this may have occurred. To my surprise my drain seemed to have ""cleared"" within a couple of days although puzzled as to occurrence. My kitchen sink is AGAIN clogged. Cannot determine if related to ""corrected"" sink problem as I have not received a return call. Can only wonder if related or caused by previous job as all occurred within few weeks of each other Was also promised 12% discount. Never made good on his word. Very disappointing experience with Davila Plumbing as lacking response and integrity.

Able was awesome - bailed me out of my own incompetence in trying to replace a shower faucet. Noticed that my outside water shutoff was rusted out and had the time to fix a frozen sink shutoff valve after fixing a complicated broken pipes in the wall for shower.

If you are looking for an honest business that prides itself on integrity, then choose Davila Plumbing.
I got multiple quotes to install my City of San Jose ""approved"" wye clean-out due to root infiltration of my main sewer line. Davila's quote came right in the middle. The reason I chose them was because Luis took the extra time to explain exactly the issue was and how he would address them. After talking with him, I was completely at ease becasue he knew exactly how to fix the problem. The fact that as the owner, he stood by the quality his work 100% was really the reason why I felt I could trust him and not go with the lowest bid. During the work, Luis ensured that the job was done professionally in every aspect: The grass over the dig zone was carefully preserved, tarps covered the surrounding grass to protect it, he took extra care upon clean-up to return the work site original as best as possible. I was always updated on the progress of the project and given prompt timelines of when to expect him to arrive or work to be completed.
Although not directly associated with the job but important none the less was his tools, equipment, and van. Upon casual inspection of his van, it was very evident that every item had it's proper place and everything was neat and clean. The fact that Luis kept his van organized, though not directly visible to the public, only reaffirmed to me the care and professionalism I could expect from his actual work.

In short, this is my first Yelp review (although I frequent often) and I would not hesitate to recommend Davila Plumbing to anyone who asks. Words that I would use to describe this company are: Professional, organized, thorough, quality, competence, punctual and most importantly integrity.
