David Gray started the business in 1983 out of the back of a Plymouth Duster sedan (the Duster was a car, not a utility vehicle). Initial phone calls would be answered by employees at his in-law's furniture store. The firm grew to the point where an office with a staff was required.
The firm is genuinely a family enterprise. At various times, David's wife, dad, father-in-law, brother-in-law, son, daughter(s), and niece have all contributed to the business. David's son and brother-in-law are now engaged in operating the company with him and are partners.
The business has evolved from that initial vehicle to in excess of thirty-five work crews and in excess of 70 staff members. David Gray established David Gray Plumbing, Inc. in 1980. My landlord had this company come out to find out why we lost power to a whole room and to out side lights. First technician came out and after testing outlets and looking in attic (which I lent my tactical flashlight and they kept) he informed my daughter, not me that due to him having kids he was refusing to service the call. There was some ferret feces near the outlet , the litter boxes hadn't been scooped yet. So they rescheduled for another call next day no problem. We insured next day there wasn't an issue, next day two techs come out different do same thing as ones day before check outlets, check panel box, and check attic. Except they explain how adjuster needs to come out to give estimate due to fact more than likely wire has been chewed in attic. Also tell us how prior tech is germaphobe and has had issues with others before. So I call my land lord to let him know what they told us, help texts me a little later informing me they had no record on their dispatch log of anyone coming out at all. Now being a disabled combat veteran with one of my disabilities being severe PTSD this didn't go over too well. My landlord said he'd try to find out early morning if maybe they just didn't update their dispatch log, WTH those guys came at 10 am not late afternoon. Late afternoon my landlord is finally informed by this so called reputable company that they still refuse to do service until he can assure them it is up to par. Well little does this company know my landlord lives two houses down from me has not only come by unannounced before and was told to so after 1st visit, but video was taken and sent to him and posted for comments and NO ONE understands WTH this company is talking about. Maybe they should state what is their issue while actually here. Or actually that the real reason is they don't want to crawl in this Itty bitty attic to fix the issue because it is an old house or they just don't know. Not lie and slander someone. My PTSD and blood pressure were through the roof because of the unscrupulous practices of this company. Will never use or recommend ever.

I asked this company to install an outside light. Two electricians came out and could not figure out how to make the light work. They even blamed the electrician who previously worked on it. Without installing my light, they charged $275. Ridiculous. I called Crawford Electric. The electrician fixed the issue with the wiring, which he explained was very simple. It took him around 15 minutes to install the light. He charged $225 for the light work and for a side task. The guys at David Gray wanted to drill holes in my wall! I recommend Crawford for honest and dependable work.

We are new to Jacksonville and recently purchased a home built in the mid '80's. A few days ago we noticed what turned out to be a slab leak. We called David Gray and they were out the same day. We were impressed with the Professionalism, accuracy of their diagnosis and speedy repairs. There is no doubt we have found our """"Go to"""" plumbers. I highly recommend them!

Very professional business. Called for non-emergency plumbing repair and was given an appointment for the next day. I had a choice of morning or afternoon timeframe and was told the repairmen would contact me 30 minutes prior to arrival and would provide a link to follow his location to further inform me of his arrival. The repairman arrived and promptly went to work and completed the necessary repair. He was personable and courteous. I called David Gray upon the recommendation of a neighbor who had used them for some plumbing problems that they had. I did not call any others as my neighbor was very satisfied with their service; accordingly I am unable to compare them for cost comparison. I

Outstanding!! They showed up on time and did an excellent job replacing my hose faucet. Plus, the $104 charge was much less than the $250-$400 quotes from others I called. They even gave me a phone book discount that I wasn't aware of. I will definitely use David Gray in the future!!

On 7/31/24, Employee, Corey Carter provided good quality service in a few electrical kitchen repairs on the wall outlet and light fixtures to the roof. Corey was punctual and polite throughout the process and I also noticed that he integrated his knowledge skill sets and professionalism into his practice, effortlessly. I called Wednesday around 10AM and someone was at my house by 1245PM! He quickly fixed the problem and was extremely knowledgable and helpful. I would definitely use them again.

worst service ever , I called at 7:30 was told I was 4 th in line someone would be out . not a problem I'm up late at 11:00 still no call , no show !! I called to see where I was in line maybe a job before mine took a while . oh no , I was told I wasn't on the list , gave a diff number that no one answered. so I called back . was advised that they have 24:7 service but that is just cause they have someone answering the phones 24.7 not a technician 24:7 you have to wait till business hours . well I called during business hours and you they dropped the ball. I will never use David grey or recommend them !!
