The girls in the office are extremely rude. They will not listen to the costumer . One of the worst companies in dealing with their costumers. Strongly advise to avoid them. Very annoying to deal with them . They do not care.

We scheduled this company to come out and start-up our sprinkler system and do the backflow test. I mistakenly also scheduled a different company to come out a couple of weeks before our appointment with David Frey and admittedly forgot about this appointment completely. Instead of calling to confirm they sent someone out to our house and just went ahead and did the backflow test without notifying us or calling ahead. We came home and had an invoice in our mailbox so I contacted the company to discuss this. I spoke with Lindsey who needs a lesson or two in how to speak properly and respectfully to customers (see other reviews as well). I explained to her my mistake and did admit that I forgot to cancel, eventually I did agree to pay their invoice but only after being literally yelled at by Lindsey for over five minutes. She is impossible to talk to and has no business whatsoever dealing in anything related to customer service. Considering this was our mistake, I take full responsibility for not cancelling, however I will add that it would be nice if they called ahead (like almost ALL reputable companies do) to confirm the day before, thus avoiding this issue altogether and not wasting anyone's time. Since there are several other options for plumbing and sprinkler services in the area I don't see any need whatsoever to use a company that does not talk respectfully to their customers, we will take our business elsewhere.

Hired them for a leak we found. Instead of checking the closest water source first, the dishwasher, they checked everything else in the house and cut holes in our walls and ceiling. Guess what, turns out it was the dishwasher. Eight dollar valve cost us $1100. When we contacted the owner, David frey, as to why this happened he threatened us with lawsuits and vulgar language. Even had his daughter Lindsey call to let us know it will be bad if we try to fight it. We ended up in court, where the judge sided with them because they are ""professional"" plumbers and must know what they're doing. I figured it out on YouTube in five minutes and fixed it myself. That's right, they even left our house without actually fixing the leak. If you enjoy being bullied David Frey is the guy to call in Avon Lake

We hired David Frey Plumbing for a leak in our basement. The plumber assured us ALL water sources had been checked and that he would need to check the sewer return pipe by opening up our wall. He made 4 holes in our dining room wall and one in the ceiling. He had no clue as it was still leaking but no water running into the sewer pipe. After being there 2.5 hours and destroying our dining room, he said for ""sh!ts and giggles"" he would check the dishwasher, which was the closest water source to the leak, and ""would be so mad if that was the cause."" He pulled out the dishwasher and found a puddle of water. He took a piece off the dishwasher, told us we would need to buy a new dishwasher, said to put a pan under the leak, that he STILL hadn't fixed, charged us $385 and left. A call was placed to David Frey, who was rude, dismissive and only concerned about his payment, which we stopped. Never offered to come and fix the leak that we STILL had (for 2 days since it was Easter weekend.) We bought a $9 part to fix the leak and a $17 part to fix the dishwasher. He sued, we countersued. Unfortunately, common sense isn't a defense. Everyone with plumbing experience said Plumbing 101: check the water sources closest to the leak!! The judge said he had to rule in their favor because we had the burden of proof and we did not get documentation from another plumber stating that a mistake was made. We had to pay $700 to get our dining room properly fixed. Save yourself the time, money and the headache and call another plumber!!!!!!!!!

Mr. Frey does good work, personally. Have had not so good work with people that work for him. His receptionist, who also happens to be family has been rude, disrespectful and dismissive. Really unfortunate because having heard this from several other people having the same experience, she is the reason customers are leaving. I had a conversation with Mr. Frey about her, so we will see if she changes or he releases her from being the voice of the business.

UPDATE: Needed work to be done and the ""receptionist"" called me today to schedule something and then said an I quote ""Oh wait, my dad is looking into your review about my rudeness and I am not like that and he is talking to his lawyer."" I asked her why she called me then and she proceeded to say ""that a friend of hers who is a friend of mine ..blah blah blah"" and I stopped her and said why did you call me? You cannot call and harass people and yes we are allow to give truthful reviews. And asked if she had read them and said thank you good bye. Other posts stated that they threaten with a defamation suit ...Well the thing is you have these things called reviews and we are being honest about the services provided. Most often it is customer service why businesses lose people. Unfortunately it is happen to Frey Plumbing. Mr. Frey ..do the right thing. Your receptionist is not good for business

Read your contract very carefully if they don't say they're doing it they won't do it ask them lots of questions about how your home and property will be left because a mess is how you may find it

Great referral from a friend. Super fast service. The tech was very considerate about entering the house and making sure not to make a mess. In and out, expert. Highly recommend.

Local and prompt . The girls in the office are very informative to get to the bottom of issues so you can troubleshoot before they send someone out. You usually know what your up against before Dave even gets to your house

I have dealt with them on four different occasions. They are without question a five-star company. I would highly recommend using them. We have used them for our backflow test, irrigation start up and winterization and a kitchen faucet repair.

After reading other positive-sounding reviews, we decided to give David Frey Plumbing a try when our hot water tank stopped working on a Saturday morning. We were quoted $180 for the drive to us plus up to half an hour of work from their tech because it was ""emergency hours"" (weekend). Since we firmly believed that our tank was going to need either a major repair or replacement, we felt this was acceptable, especially since it would go towards the price of a new tank. The tech arrived within 10 minutes of our call since we live so close to Avon (Westlake), but after getting into our basement, he simply pressed a reset button and the pilot lit just fine. Apparently, there was nothing actually wrong with the tank. The entire episode lasted 5 minutes. Now, we are a new family with a 6 month old child and a new house, so we already have expenses up to our eyeballs. Although the service we received had value, we felt that 5 minutes and a press of a button wasn't worth $180, but we paid it anyway and let the tech know we would talk to management to see if they would be at least willing to charge us their standard non-emergency rate of $90 due to the nature of the issue and speed at which it was resolved. We were not looking for a full refund. If not, then a polite decline would have also been acceptable. Instead, David's daughter became NASTY with my wife on the phone, saying that was the ""cost of doing business"" & claimed that the $180 was what the company had to pay the technician for his 5 minutes. A follow-up call from David himself led to MORE NASTINESS because we said we would like to let others know through reviews how horribly we were treated when we contacted them after the service was performed. A little common courtesy and respect goes a long way in our book, and David Frey Plumbing proved that they do not care about their customers. We will not be giving them any more of our business, and urge you to do the same!
