David finished high school at Southwest High School in Fort Worth, Texas, in 2001. Before finishing high school, David developed an interest in plumbing and began an apprenticeship with Ryan's Plumbing. David obtained his Journeyman Plumber License from the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners in March 2007, right before he was called to serve in Iraq during Operation Enduring Freedom. Upon his return from Iraq, David continued his plumbing career and earned his Master Plumber License in May 2009.
