I found Dave to be very knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient. He's a great communicator and an honest contractor. His prices were fair and his attention to detail was above and beyond. In addition to completing the job I called him for, he went around and checked everything little thing around the house, gave advice on stuff that needed attention, and fixed a few small issues right there on the spot for the same price he was already charging me. You can tell Dave cares and enjoys what he does. He is now my go-to person for anything plumbing related. Would highly recommend.

Dave and his son came out and expertly fixed a broken drain pipe from under my house. He was in and out in less than 30 minutes. He stuck to his estimate range and even tutored me through two other projects he said I could easily do myself. What big name, overly advertised plumbing company will do that for you? I'll never know because I will be calling on Dave's Drains for any future plumbing needs. You should too!

Hello Everyone,

First I'd like to let everyone know we are from Chicago, so a good plumber, an honest plumber was something I had never met before. This morning we woke to find very icky waste in our shower basin and tub. I called around (hunting on Nextdoor) and everyone was overbooked. I worked my way to Dave, I left a message. Dave called back 20 minutes later, asked for my address (texted back to him) and while he was driving he gave me several instructions to troubleshoot while heading here. While in transit he figured out what was wrong. He pulled up ready to fix it and got it done! While here he gave me several useful hacks to keep it from repeating. Dave's charming, well-mannered, professional, and respectful. I gladly paid him like 15-20% of what a Chicago plumber would have scammed me out of.

Dave - you're a hero and should get a cape.

I don't know how he is as a plumber but he's not good at paying someone who has done work for him. He has owed me money for two years, has told me on occasions that he will drop it off. He refuses to just put a stamp on an envelope and mail it to me and he doesn't return my phone calls.

Called at 8:30am, tech was at my place at 9:30am to fix my disposal. Walked me through how to do the fix myself next time, explained how things work in layman's terms. Price was fair. This is our second time using Dave's drain and I really see them being our go-to for all plumbing needs for the duration of our time in Boise.

If you want a fancy wrapped truck to show up and two technicians to pop out ready to work - have at it, you'll pay the price. But if you want an honest, quick and affordable service use Dave's.

So one fine winter evening in my domicile in Eagle, Idaho I hear a noise coming from the living room. It was one of those noises that makes you stop and listen, as not only is it foreign, but you're not certain whether or not it's coming from inside or outside. After a few moments of listening, I begin to turn blue from holding my breath. Into the living room I bound. What I find there is a scene of utter chaos. A large puddle of an unknown liquid, presumably beer, has collected on the floor in front of the fireplace. Having been to college, I was able to narrow down the source of the presumed beer by looking up. The culprit, a can light, was dripping small, yet steady, drops of presumed beer onto the floor. What was really upsetting was that I knew for a FACT the can light in question was not designed to serve liquids, including beer, which was the most upsetting part. I would need to further investigate.

Further investigation revealed a shower, located directly above the culprit non-liquid serving can light, was in use. Having been to college, I did some analytical geometry which concluded that this likely had something to do with it. I quickly evacuated the shower but found no signs of beer in there, either (I checked). Shortly after doing this, the unknown liquid (later found to be water) stopped flowing from the non-liquid serving can light.

Yelp was consulted for a plumber the next day. After a phone call or two with Dave, he shows up at my door. Being a drain detective for several decades, he immediately got to work with a combination of interrogation and physical evidence inspection. This led him back into the shower where a small bead of caulking was laid behind the flange of the shower knob.

Dave said this was 99% likely to be the problem, and a bead of caulk was a lot cheaper than tearing a ceiling apart. After REFUSING TO TAKE ANY PAYMENT, I was instructed to call him the next day if the problem was not fixed and we'd figure something out. Well, the problem was fixed. Thank you again, Dave. I will figure a way to get him paid and if I ever have the need for his services again, I'll offer him a beer, too.

As new homeowners, my husband and I are rookies when it comes to plumbing and all the fun projects that come with an older home. We got our washer and dryer installed but there was a leak and other issues that arose. We found Dave and he was able to come out to the house on the same day that we needed him. It's great to find someone who is knowledgeable, easy going, and offers sound advice. Dave has years of experience and we really appreciated his help! Will turn to him for any future plumbing needs!

I don't normally write reviews, but Dave's service was outstanding. We got lots of quotes to install a new water heater to replace our 22yr old unit in our old, downtown basement. Dave's quote was the most fair, and included the best product. He was able to come out in a week, rather than a month or two later like other companies.

Dave answered his phone right away and scheduled an appointment. When he came to install, he and his assistant were very professional, explained the process and while he waited for the old water heater to drain, he fixed a few little plumbing annoyances we had been dealing with around the house at no charge.

He recommended ideas to prevent any future issues and overall was extremely knowledgeable and helpful.

I had to call Dave back two weeks later because we had a small sewage backup (unrelated to the water heater install - it didn't cause any damage, but made me concerned)! He came out the next day, snaked our clean outs with a camera and found some rooting in our main line. He took care of the problem quickly, showing me all that he found with his camera, and made sure everything was working properly!

The price was very reasonable, he always stands by his quotes. Dave is trustworthy and comes with solid experience, even working with old homes like ours! I expect we won't have to call Dave again for a while, but if we needed any other plumbing fixes, we will definitely call him again and recommend him to anyone!
