Melissa M.stay away far away!!!!!! he never shows up returns calls .has had 4 plus mos to complete project and has not. had my 60 plus mother write him checks in 3 days totaling 8000. no receipts .left his tools all over house. never cleanes up after self .very rude to my son when he questioned how things where around also when asked for a eta on finishing i got 3 days to 3 weeks. wjen i jad other contractors come in to look ans price out finishing job .i had several laugh and say not finish start over. stay far away !!!!i would not give a star but yelp is making me .
STAY AWAY! He has done work for us for years and it was entirely satisfactory and at a good price. I contracted with him to replace a hot water heater. With my past good experiences with him I paid him in advance. After three months and five no shows and numerous phone calls he showed up and installed an inferior heater, left a mess, and was supposed to rectify the problems within a week. Never heard from him again. There is pending NYS Attorney General actions against him. I would not hire him to change a light bulb.
Dave Williams Stole $2600 from us. He cashed a check made out to him- that was for a furnace that he had supposedly ordered for us. He drove 2 hours to our hometown bank so that he could cash it, as opposed to deposit it in He then did NOT buy the materials and did NOT ever show his face at our house to do ANY of the work. After talking to locals it seems that we are not the only ones that he has done this to. We plan to take legal action..
Bob M.Stay away from Dave Williams Plumbing! We are trying to bring him to small claims court and both the regular and certified letter from the court came back as undeliverable.
mr williams came as soon as i called which is a blessing when your heat is out! i was impressed with his knowledge and thoroughness. he did a very good cleaning of my boiler, much more thorough than the previous people i had used for the last 3 years.
he also added insulation and did adjustments that would increase the furnace efficiency, and gave advice regarding future needs i had questions on.
i was very happy with the service i received, it's not cheap but that's because he does a really good job and knows what hes doing. he saved me money in the long run and i'm very pleased.
Dave has been my Plumber for several years now. He's quick, his prices are good, and I have never had any issues with his work!
I called dave to come replace a water heater at my house. It was a simple, effortless process. Dave came out, inspected the area and water heater needing replacement, and after a deposit, came back with a fresh unit to install. A couple hours later the water heater was in, and Dave was out.
As a side service, he also adjusted some loose fittings near the bathroom that had been leaking, free of charge.
A small company, but got what i needed done.

We called on this company b/c of the Post Star review. The day Dave was scheduled to come he called to say he couldn't make it. We rescheduled to the next day and he was 20 mins late. He told my husband we had a leak in our AC Unit and that it needed to be filled. $300 later he said the leak was sealed and the unit was full...we should be good.
The next day I told my husband it wasn't working so he called Dave back. Dave arrived 1 hr late the next day to tell us we had a major leak and we would have to buy another unit. By the way our unit is only a little over 2 yrs old. He was only here 5 mins before coming to this conclusion. He told me if we wanted to buy another unit it would be around $2000-$3000 and handed me a bill of $70! So we paid $370 for the same result we started with. They should be ashamed of them selves! What ever happened to customer service? We are going to get a 2nd opinion and if Dave was taking advantage of us we will be calling the better business bureau. Do Not Call This Company! Horrible Service and Outrageously Priced!

I'm not sure what the rating scale is, but I can assure you that the only thing Number 1 about this company is the expensive service.
I asked the company to repair a furnace in our summer home- about 30 minutes from Glens Falls. When I engaged the owner, I told him the problem, the make of the furnace and its age- as well as what it was specifically doing. When speaking to him, his manner seemed ""gruff"" but he also seemed competent- and what with newspaper's recommendation, I thought it'd be ok.
Dave said that the next day he'd do the work and call me to let me know it's done. He also mentioned that he'd be charging for travel time.
What he didn't tell me was that he charges his full hourly rate BOTH WAYS- so we got to pay for all his travel as if it was professional work time- something I am not accustomed to. (I am used to paying ONE WAY- but NOT BOTH WAYS- TWICE!).
The next day: no phone call. So, had to call to see what was up. He told me he had to order the part. No problem, I thought. It'll be done by the weekend.
Later the next day he called to say the igniter had failed and that it's a $94.00 part. AND THAT THE LABOR WAS $325.00!!!
TOTAL CHARGE: $478.49 for the furnace igniter.
When I gulped and said that seems like a lot- that's when the real unpleasantness started. Mr. Williams got more than a little aggressive and started barking about how he hadn't hidden anything and demanding to be paid.
Well, we did go to the house- it's our secod home- and we inspected the work and saw that it worked well. And, we went on line and sent out the check today- 24 hours after the inspection.
I guess the topping on the cake- the part that really made me want express my concern about his service- is that I just got another call DEMANDING to know where the check is- as if he KNEW that the bill was outrageous and therefore a little aggressive collection is in order to make sure he gets his money.
I did tell him that we had paid the bill today- and also explained that I still was pretty upset about the bill. I can't tell you how rude the man was to interrupt AND raise his voice on the phone with me. He argues that he was upfront in the two way travel charges (NOT)- which, by the way, included HIM GOING TO GET THE PART AND DELIVERING IT THERE.
I completely understand why he's not busy during the day and focused on calling to collect his money: it's because he really is quite rude- and his charges are outrageous: $450 for a very simple repair on a new furnace.
DON'T GO TO THIS COMPANY- IF YOU DO, YOU WON'T WANT HIM BACK.
