Called Dave for a bid on sink and faucet repair. He quoted & provided advice on how best/most economical way to proceed with the repair since we were planning on selling the property. Showed up promptly on the day of the appointment and took care of fix for a fair price. Will definitely use again!

I just want to thank Dave for doing an awesome job on a leak in my condo. Dave has done some plumbing work for me in the past so I contacted him when a leak appeared on my ceiling. He was extremely busy and went out of his way to not only come to my house and look at the problem but to go ahead and fix it right then and there. I have always known Dave to be very honest, do great work and be very reasonably priced. He doesn't nickel and dime his customers, he comes in, gets the job done, and takes care of his customers. Thank you Dave!

We've had several good experiences with Dave Taylor Plumbing! We have used him both at home and at our office. He has always been honest and reliable. We had trouble with the toilet he installed and he found our warranty and did all necessary repairs at no cost to us. He is always very busy and you can expect to get in line, but you can count on Dave to stand behind everything he does.

I've been using Dave for almost ten years and he's always responsive and honest. He offers clear advice and options before he starts the work, and most importantly once he does the job you don't need to worry about calling him back because something was neglected. He's someone you can trust.

tl;dr: Great plumber, all around, as long as nothing goes wrong with his work. Then, he may dodge your calls.

Dave used to be 5 stars in my book. As others have noted, he's friendly, answers questions, is prompt and punctual. I enjoyed ""shoulder-surfing"" his work, as I like learning about DIY kinds of things. You can tell by watching him that he's very experienced, and his rates are very fair. He bills by the hour, and he doesn't sit around. He moves quickly and efficiently through his work.

Soo.....why is he no longer 5 stars in my book? Well, we had a leak at the water main heading into the house, so we brought him. During the course of that work, and a subsequent job to replace our pressure regulator and add some cut-off valves, he had disconnected the pipe attached directly to the water meter, curb-side. When he was done, everything seemed to be fine!... until after the rains stopped.

I discovered that there was a slow leak around one of the cut-off valves he installed. I gave him a call and he said he'd swing by the following day to inspect. He did, and said that it wasn't his solder joint that was leaking, but there was a problem w/ the valve. He said he'd repair/replace it at no charge when he gets a chance, and put our property on his list for follow-up work. This was the last I ever heard from Dave...

I would be fine waiting a while for Dave to fix that slight leak, because it was so small. I *was not* willing to wait when I discovered that the cavity where the water meter is was flooding. I called him last Monday night and left him a voicemail. Come end-of-workday Tuesday, no call back from him. That was unusual. So, I got on my grubbies and baled out the water and inspected. Yep, it was a fast leak where he had disconnected the line. Called him again and left a voicemail asking him for advice (implying, in my mind, ""Hey..uh...could you come over here and fix this?""). I spent my entire evening getting a tool to turn on/off the water on the water company side of the meter and trying to find somewhere to get a replacement gasket. Turns out that the part isn't standard, and I'd have to try a specialty plumbing shop... Sigh...

I was loathe to put the same worn gasket back in, as I figured it would leak, but thankfully, it hasn't leaked one bit after re-assembly.

Up to now, one week later, I still haven't heard from Dave. It seems like he might have fixed the slow-leak on the valve, but he was not there when I needed him for the fast leak that it seems he may have introduced. I'm disappointed, at this point. I'm hoping he's just otherwise disposed, and/or on vacation or something. Before this experience, I would have recommended Dave, hands-down. Not sure if he checks Yelp, but I am not sure I can recommend him, otherwise.

Summary (tl;dr):
A great plumber for large and small projects alike. Great sense of humor, welcoming personality, 100% real and no-salesman B.S.

Punctuality:
He's responded to a plumbing emergency same day and on a second occasion gave me a 2-hour arrival window - he was right on time.

Response:
EVERY phone call I made, be it with a question or with an appointment request or with a confirmation, was returned within 1 business day. I never felt out of contact with him. I know what it's like to be an in-home service person. You get lots of calls and texts all day. He still made it a point to make me feel like I was his only appointment for the day.

Personality:
He's no-nonsense, witty, and determined. If you're the kind of person that wants him to just work and get out... yeah he can do that with little conversation. But if you're like me and enjoy banter without talking his ear off, you'll really enjoy his presence. He makes tasteful jokes, is sarcastic, and fills the space with a welcoming atmosphere. It can be stressful letting someone in your home, let alone calling them back to do it again and again. With Dave, I know that I will feel comfortable throughout the appointment.

Work Quality:
Personality matters a lot, but it means much less without a proper expectation of workmanship. In short, he does awesome work. He has repaired a faulty water valve and installed a new sink setup for me. In both cases he was extremely fast as well as extremely focused. Not only can he converse, answer questions, and make you laugh, but he'll do it while zipping along with the job to do. He brought up each roadblock as they came, he was transparent with every step, and the final product looked more professional than I had expected.

Price:
This is extremely subjective. I will say that I'm not the richest guy around... but his prices are fantastic even for my limited budget. His estimates were spot-on, and he kept me informed every step of the way. That being said, his traits and workmanship were of such a high level I truly feel that he could charge a lot more without anyone complaining. He's super fair - to a point that he makes other in-home service-people look bad.

Conclusion:
Expect a punctual, professional, friendly, and fair plumber. He's 10/10 in my book, and has set the bar for all future visits from other professions. My recommendation? Hire Dave Taylor now. We need more high-quality local plumbers with this level of work ethic. I WILL be calling him again for future needs. I cannot recommend him highly enough.
