We bought a kitchen faucet and thought we'd be able to install it ourselves, but obstacles presented themselves and I was quick to check Yelp in Big Bear.
I called 2 plumbers and only one called me back-Dave Essex. And the good news was he was able to come straight over, on a Saturday! He quoted us a price over the phone and was true to his price. He did a great job. Highly recommend Dave!

We needed to replace our water heater at our vacation cabin so I called around and luckily found Dave Essex Plumbing. I left him a message on a Friday evening after hours, and he called me back the first thing Saturday morning and scheduled a time to come by that same day to check out my old water heater to make sure the problem wasn't something he couldn't fix instead of replacing it. He quickly figured out the problem, and made arrangements for the local plumbing supply house to order the correct replacement water heater for me. He then kept in communication with me to let me know when the supply house would receive the water heater, when he could pick it up, and then when he could install it. He arrived on time and installed the water heater with absolutely no issues, and was very professional. His prices are very reasonable and fair. Plus he is a great guy to talk to. If you are looking for a plumber in the Big Bear area, look no further. Dave Essex is your guy! I come from a long line of plumbers in my family, and I know how hard of work plumbing can be. I cannot recommend Dave enough. He is no my go-to plumber in Big Bear. Thanks, Dave! You're the best.

Our pipes burst a couple weeks ago so we called for emergency help. Dave showed up 15 mins later to help. He fixed the pipe quickly and did not charge an arm and a leg.

This is the second time we have used Dave Essex Plumbing and have had Dave assist with our plumbing needs at our cabin in Big Bear Lake, this time we weren't even there. Dave, called us back immediately and got to our place within hours even though he was at a job, he gave us an estimate and explained everything thoroughly before getting a go ahead to do the job. We have a cabin in Fawnskin (North Shore of Big Bear Lake), built about 70 years ago. We have had several emergency plumbing issues arise. We have called Dave Essex, and each time he shows up quickly and fixes things, for a reasonable price. It is a great relief. Having old plumbing is a bit nerve-wracking, but Dave fixes it quickly and fixes it well.

I've used Dave Essex Plumbing 3 times now. This review is past due. Dave has replaced 2 of my faucets when they started leaking due to old age. He was timely, efficient and reasonable. On his 3rd visit, Dave saved the day when he came to the rescue on very short notice. My refrigerator died a and a new one was being delivered. The delivery team would not hook up the new ice maker as they were originally supposed to, citing the old water line did not have a shut off valve. They literally left the new fridge in the middle of my kitchen plugged in and that was it. I called Dave and he was there with what was needed to set up the new fridges water/ice-maker and shut off valve within half an hour. In addition to setting up the new fridge properly, he then helped me place it where it needed to go and made sure it was working properly. This was no easy task as we removed baseboards and moved the stove over to get it to fit properly. I could not have done it without him.

So we bought a ski cabin in Fawnskin hoping to move here permanently, and we had numerous plumbing issues in both the kitchen and bathroom right from the start. We contacted several of the other plumbers in the area, and nobody ever showed up. Dave Essex was the third one we contacted, and we couldn't be more pleased. Essex came out the next day, gave us a fair quote and completed everything within budget before we left to go back east. And he left no mess behind. I wish our other Big Bear contractors were as good.
