Do not use Dave. They over charge after giving you a song and dance about how much work is needed to do whatever job you need. I am always willing to give a mom and pop type company a chance and give them some business, but if someone is going to take advantage, like Dave Bischof Plumbing did here, DO NOT GIVE him your BUSINESS! I
had a slow draining master bath sink, and after he told me how much work was needed to remove the pipes to further diagnose the issue, he told me what it would cost and that I would have to agree it before he could start the work. Once I agreed to him doing the work, and signed the paper work, which he never filled anything out, I filled out what the problem was, he did not write down what he said he needed to do, should have been my first indication that he could not be trusted.
After I signed the paper work, all he did was snake my sink, and not any of the other removing of the pipes that he initially said he would have to. Dave is a flat out liar and cheat. He obviously does not care about repeat business. It's upsetting to even have to give him a star rating, but to post this review, so others wont be defrauded!

This was probably our worst experience ever .. we had a problem with our sink .. not draining .. we should have went with a and b plumbing ..so they came upstairs .. and gave us a price .. they refused to give us pricing over the phone . .. to see where they were ..so they show up today .. and before they began their work .., they tell us we start off at 325 .. They ripped us off .. just because we live in Beverly Hills .. he said it would be a hard job .. I watched him ! Don't fall for his shit ! It took less then one minute .. it took more time to get the snake out of the car .. than to walk upstairs .... he said this job .. would be time consuming ...I am very upset .. and want to be refunded for half of the job .. .. the guy who worked for him was really sweet ! The main guy .. the one who did all the talking! Was a snake ! It does not cost 325 to snake a sink .. we could have said no .. but it wasn't worth us paying eighty dollars .. for them to show up and not do anything :-// .. if I could get away with giving no stars! I would ..

Unfortunately, I was too busy and stressed to check the reviews first.
Dave Bischof is indeed a dishonest scam artist. An object became lodged in my pipes and I somehow came across his number. He told me he would run a camera down the pipe and attempt to dislodge the item for $685.00
When he arrived, he 1st did a rooter and removed a small amount of debris. It was still not draining properly, so he then sent his 1980's looking camera down the pipe. Then he says his camera was not working. After 10 minutes of trying to fix the camera, I asked how much he wanted for the ""rooting"" since the camera was not working and he told me he wanted the entire $685.00!
I walked away for a few minutes and then I heard that he now had the camera working. He went about 100 feet out and found the object but he refused to dislodge it, saying it would make it worse and pointed to some root growth in the pipe. He then tried to talk me in to paying $2700.00 for a clean out valve to remove the object and excessive root growth. He is a real fast talker and tries to distract you by saying how other companies will try to rip you off.
A friend of mine recommended ""Root Kill"" and we have not had any problem for over a month.
You have been warned.

Dave Bischof duped my elderly aunt into waiving her three day right to cancel. She thought she was signing an estimate, but it was actually a waiver for ""emergency"" services. When she called the next day to cancel, he threatened to sue her for breech of contract and filed a lien on her house the next day, even though he had done no work. After doing research, I have found that this plumber has 73 outstanding liens on former customer's properties. He frequently files a lawsuit for breech of contract during the 90 day lien period. He has only 4 times removed expired liens, the rest just sit there, expired, until the owner tries to sell the house. If you get served with a lien after using this plumber, hire an attorney immediately. Those who do generally get the cases dismissed. Those who don't have to deal with this for years as it drags on in court. Use NETRonline to look up liens. Use LAcourt to look up cases.

I hired Dave Bischoff of Dave Bischoff Plumbing to replace a bath tub surround in a rental. Once he took the job he somehow persuaded me that a plastic surround would not work and that the walls should be tiled. This was a small second bathroom in an older house. He converted the entire project into a bathroom remodel and charged me $15000; or even better ripped me off that amount. I do not live close to the rental. He took advantage of that fact. He used white older style small tiles to maximize his profit. I never had a say in what type of tiles he was going to use. The $15000 that he ripped off me did not even include painting, replacement of bathroom vanity and tub doors or a toilet. He deliberately broke the lid to the toilet tank so I would be forced to replace it with his toilet which he quoted at $795. He was in my empty house for longer than a month. Each time he was asked when the project would be finished he would respond saying an average bathroom remodel would take two and a half months. Bear in mind this was a 10ft by 15 ft bathroom. He had his tools spread all over my house. All the bedrooms had his tools on the carpet. When my son was over at the house he also heard Mr. Bischoff talk to prospective tenants In negative terms about the house and about me. It was to his interest not to have the house rented so he could be there as long as it took. He also told me that the pipes in the house will need to be changed. The plumber that I replaced him with said NO that was not needed. I ended up firing Dave Bischoff, unfortunately a bit too late and after he took $15000 of my money. I brought in another plumber who completed the job , replaced a new toilet hooked up the vanity faucet. I also hired a handyman who painted the bathroom. Mr. Bischoff also caused me loss of rent. As soon as he was fired and I completed the project the house was rented. Some of the work that he had done was so poor in quality that it had to be redone. Mr. Bischoff is also a very nosy person. He asked me personal questions as to how much I was renting the property for, how long was I renting the property, what was the current and past monthly rent amounts. He might come across very knowledgeable by the way he talks and he can talk, but under no circumstances be impressed by that. One word of caution ; Mr. Bischoff has several lines to bring the business into him. My advice is if you hear the word Bischoff plumbing or Dave Bischoff run away. Anyone will be better than him.

Do not use this Plumber... Dave is a very fast talker and a crook. I wish I read the reviews before I made the call. His work is terrible and left without finishing the job.

Overpriced by far and as soon as he has your money, he's gone. Won't return calls or emails and never provided us with a copy of the contract he had us sign despite the fact that i told him our insurance company needed it for our claim. Apparently he doesn't care about repeat business, just a quick buck. He's not a bad plumber, but is a truly terrible businessman.

Not a new review, just an update.
The next day I went to Home Depot and bought a small $25 hand rooter. I fixed the problem with my sink in about 15 minutes. time myself.

If I could give zero stars I would. He charged 49.50 for a five minute consultation. Quoted 4800 for a new mainline with a city permit; when I asked him to work with me on the price, he said I could pull my own permit or not he didn't care and he would take $200 off the price. I asked for a receipt and he refused write one. Very unprofessional and the fact that he even suggested not pulling permits makes me glad I didn't hire him. Extremely dodgy individual.

Dave Bischof is a crook, an extortionist, and a larcenous operator. AVOID HIM LIKE THE PLAGUE! I needed a Toto toilet installed. He quoted me $875. I thought it was high but went ahead. He spent two hours ripping open a wall then told me the job would cost $5,500 PLUS the $875!!! He then disappeared for a week while he ordered ""special parts."" At this point, I called a contractor friend of mine who was alarmed on my behalf. He sent a plumber over and the job was done in 3 hours with parts off the truck! Bischof came back and I told him the job was done and he was fired. An hour later he put a lien on my home.
This is an evil scam artist.
