Raymond C. Dauenhauer Sr. founded Dauenhauer Plumbing in 1958. Starting in the Louisville, Kentucky region, Ray Dauenhauer Jr. joined the company in 1964. He created the name Dauenhauer and Son Plumbing and Piping, Inc.. The company is now under the local ownership of Chris LeBoeuf, CEO. His son, Jason LeBoeuf, holds the position of President.

I was told I could get a free estimate but ended up having to pay $366 for them to walk around for an hour. The man didn't even stay for a whole hour it was about 25-30 minutes. I was supposed to get an email saying what all is wrong and what I need to do to fix it. This all happened February 7th. I called 3 times to either get my estimates or my money back because I feel like I've been scammed. They also never told me why the ""quantity"" is at ""2"". It's currently May 21st and I still don't have the estimates or my money back. If it was $20 I wouldn't care but we're talking $366! I still don't fully know what's wrong with my plumbing because they've failed to communicate with me and I'm down almost $400. Very ridiculous.

Daunhauer plumbing/HVAC/and Electric. In April of 2024 we purchased a new HVAC system and had it installed by this company. They came out and installed it. A 2 day install since we decided to pipe it to another room in our downstairs meaning we would now heat and cool our bathroom and laundry room. This new system cost us a grand total of 15k. After this system went in the very next week we had to have them back out because it wasn't cooling. They fixed it. Forward to June. Our AC completely quits working. They come out and say the board on the air handler has failed. They don't have the board to replace it and will have to order it. On a brand new unit. This takes all week. To cool our house during this time someone has to stand over the air handler in the living room and Bluetooth connect to it to make the fan kick on to cool the house every 12 minutes. They call me and say they have the board but they have no one available so they will be out in 2 days to fix it. After losing my temper they decided it was best to fix it the day they got the board. So they replace it. 1 week later the house isn't cooling so they come back out and adjust some things so now it works again. August rolls around and that month goes okay. October hits. They come out and do an inspection on the system to be prepared for fall. They give us a clean bill of health! 2 weeks later at the beginning of November when it got cold..... the heat quits in the middle of the night. Now this is where the bullshit starts. They come out and say the board is doing some crazy stuff. They reset it. Heat works. 2 weeks later the heat works but the fan never shuts off. They come out do the same thing. I keep saying this board isn't right. They don't listen. Close to Christmas hits, no heat. They come out reset it and it heats. Between then and now I have had to go outside and kill the power to the entire system and let the board shut down then turn it back on to make it heat. Now it does nothing. NOTHING. Thursday of last week they come out with some engineer. He says the same shit I have been saying since November. The board is no count and needs replaced. Wait for it.............. they don't have it and have to order it. Shooketh. Here it is Tuesday night. Can't get any calls back from this company and our heat doesn't work at all. We are heating our house with space heaters. Our electric bills are through the roof. The entire winter the system hasn't even kicked on the heat pump because of the faulty board it has only been using emergency heat. Here we sit with space heaters running in the most important rooms and letting the other rooms be ice boxes. Can't get any answer from anyone at Daunhauer. I will be posting this everywhere. If anyone needs a company to do some work for any type of HVAC, plumbing, or electric, do not EVER call this company. They will not stand by their work and they will ghost you every chance they get when something goes wrong. Pathetic. Some of my dates since this is off memory may be a day or 2 off but don't worry I have a screenshot of EVERY email they sent me before they came out.
David G.Brooke reached out and corrected the issues. I would recommend them based on the work that they did and that they were responsive when they saw that there was a problem. One other comment that I would make it that they are available. If you need a certain date or time they try to accommodate.

These people charged an arm and a leg to replace a water heater. They demanded full payment the same day. They had to make three trips. Shop around and find another plumber!
Looking Out For The City ..So far so good. Placed a call at 7:00 a.m. (when they open on Saturdays) and a technician got back to me at 9:00 a.m.; even though, I was set for a 10 p.m. to 12 p.m. time slot.
The technician's name is Travis. Let's see how he goes up diagnosing this garbage disposal issue. From past experience, my first one, with this house, has lasted 8 years 2009-2017. This last one they installed worked from 2017 to now (review is also below this for this experience).
Amazing guy. That is all I have to say, AMAZING GUY. TOTALLY RECOMMEND!

This business harms itself with aggressive calls, emails, and texts wanting feedback. Should that not be up to the customer to give at their own pace? NO! I am not answering my phone, email, or texts. If I had a good or bad experience, you will see about it (like the above review).
I normally don't take advantage of discounted system checks, however, I did take advantage of Dauenhauer's $45 system check in early April. Technician left saying system ran fine. However, the first time I turned the a/c on it failed to work and now I am looking at a major repair. I contacted Dauenhauer about the fact that I had their advertised system check and tune-up and was surprised that after doing that, the first time I turned the a/c on the system did not work. They responded that they would come to look at the problem but would charge me full fees to do so. They don't back up their work. Very coincidental! Buyer beware of who looks at your systems! Poor customer service!

Dauenhauer Plumbing cost Much More than their competitors in the area. They charged me $600 for a toilet installation! After this work was completed, I got a quote from another plumber and their installation cost was $180. Dauenhauer did include what appeared to be about a $130 toilet, so their total install price was $470 compared to $180, a $290 difference.
It seems that the plumbers (salesmen) work on commission and found several items that needed fixing. Originally, they came out due to a leak in my shower, that leaked through the ceiling. By the time they were done with installing a new water valve, bath spout, shower control gasket it was $1,504.50, including the VIP discount!
When they were done, they said I have a blockage in my line, and they could send someone out tomorrow to unblock it for $450! The plumbers did not have the equipment with them to do this themselves. I got a quote from another company, and they said it would only be $235 to clear a line. FYI, I replaced the bathtub overflow plate which had become corroded and gunky, and my flow problem went away. $8.97 on Amazon.
While I had other concerns about them, these were the top ones. I would not use them again; their prices are very high, and they are focused more on increasing their bill than meeting the needs of the customer. While their work was fine, there are many other customer focused plumbing companies out there that are better.
Leaking main sewer line in my home. Almost a month of their dropping the ball, showing up late (""pulled into the office for a report "", ""we got real backed up"" etc.) and finally showing up for what was supposed to be a trenching estimate with their trencher, with their camera crew instead, which they said they had already done two weeks previous and then their dispatcher arguing with me on the phone about it.
