Joshua D.Laughably expensive. Received a quote for $25,000 on a SEV $25,000 home. Couple hundred for the first inspection. Do yourself a favor and use Someone else!
First they sent out an inexperienced technician. His paperwork stated he did the job he was suppose to do and got paid $1400 but in reality he did a $200 job. So about a month later we had the same problem again. When we called them back out about the same problem it when we found out what the first technician did and the damage was worse. And secondly, there was a problem with scheduling them to come back out. I kept getting rescheduled and one day I was told a tech would be out by 7pm and never showed up, not even a call saying he couldn't make it. The owner did try to smooth things over but my mind was already made up to NEVER use them again!
Diana I.We needed to upgrade a few outlets in a home we just purchased and called Dan Wood Company. Brad J and Adam T took the time to go over what needed to be done today and also at our request provide and estimate of work we plan to do in the future. Once they started replaceing outlets they hit some challenges (as is to be expected in a 50 years old house with that has it's fair share of DIY fixes and bandaids projects.) and worked through each one until it was properly fixed and working. And this extra work added not one penny to our bill! Once they left you would have never guessed we had repairs done. Everything was put back in it's place and each area was cleaned of all traces of their of labor. They were friendly, funny and a real pleasure to have working in our home.
Christopher M.Tried to Contact the day after Christmas 2016 because supposedly they offer 24/7 emergency service. My wife and I tried repeatedly to contact them for service and never got any response. Just kept getting automated phone service that led nowhere. The real bad part is we were sold they're Furnace/AC plan so we were supposed to be regular return customers. Spent almost the entire next day trying to get them to service our Furnace even after we told them it went out 4 days ago they didn't seem to care. Looking for a new Furnace/AC service. Don't use them.
I called Dan Wood because our neighbors use them, and our regular plumbing company was not available in a timely manner. Chris from Dan Wood did come out in a couple of days; HOWEVER, I was extremely displeased that my need for two (2) dripping faucets be fixed turned into over an hour sales pitch for them to replace our kitchen and master bath fixtures, buy a water softener, and reroute our copper piping in the basement with PVC lines so they could install the water softener. Additionally, I was quoted three (3) sets of prices to do the work a) repair the faucet leaks; b) we buy new faucets and they install, and c) they furnish the fixtures and install. The rates were for option a) $601; option b) $1060; and option c) $1553; plus the $69 ""trip charge"" that they requested a credit card for to ""guarantee the appointment"" before they would even come out. Our regular plumber did the same kitchen faucet repair three (3) years ago for $179.
I felt like he was trying to take advantage of the fact that I'm a woman, and over 50; I felt like I was being scammed.
I would NEVER recommend Dan Wood to do any kind of repair or installation!!!
Quick, fast and professional, Charles W. did a great job, gave me plenty of options for the repairs I needed, and worked within my budget. Will continue to call Dan Wood for the home repairs I need from them.
My well kept running today so I called Dan Wood Company a company I have dealt with before and had been extremely satisfied with. The company sent out an excellent well tech took a look at the problem and said we needed to pull the well pump because there could be a hole in the pipe. Sure enough pulled the hole pipe and there was a hole in it. He replaced the pipe and the 37 year old pump and it is running better than ever. Great job. Great well tech that was a good person to work with. Could not have asked for a better person to work on the well.
Gray K.Do not choose this company. They charge you 69 dollars just to come look at the problem. That is so they can charge much more to fix it and yet you feel obligated to use them or lose your money. Also do you need a permit? If so be careful to have them specifically mention it in the quote or they will force you to pay more later. It cost me a thousand dollars to get two lighting outlets and an electrical outlet installed. Call anyone else and I guarantee you'll get a better price.
Total rip off: this company runs around giving ridiculous quotes hoping to find a unsophisticated customer that will agree to a inflated price. My wife called them to come out to repair a shower faucet. Should have been about $200. Job. The plumber Justin came out looked at the faucet and proceeded to write an estimate for $961.00 !! I thought he was joking. He apologized over and over then said I owed $69.00 for his time. I have never written a review on a company before but these guys have to be stopped. They are ripping off people! Can't believe this still goes on these days with all the information people have at there fingertips. Beware don't call these guys! Best case scenario you'll owe $69.00 and nothing will get fixed.
Steve C.I needed my basement drain cleared. I've had it done in the past, and it ranged in price from $95-$175. Dan Wood chargers you $69 to come out, and diagnose. When I asked the person on the phone how much this would cost, she said the techs would tell me on site. That seems to have been a lie, because the tech told me it was a $288 flat fee for a drain cleaning, regardless of how long it took. So, $288 + 69 = $357. What a rip-off! I'll never use this company again.
