The week of May 10, 2021 Dan the Gutterman LLC began work on installing new gutters. I paid a $1660 deposit (half of the contract estimate). I paid the deposit with my credit card.
My estimate was to install new 6"" gutters and downspouts and repair the drain lines that were broken in 3 locations around my house.
Day 1: DTG team arrived there were 4 men. About half way through they told me they would not finish because the office manager did the GIS takeoff for the wrong house and they did not have enough material to complete the job and they would return the next day. That did not make much sense because 2 men came out to the house and actually did the measurement for the estimate. But I understand mistakes happen, no big deal.
- 2 men began measuring my garage. They were about 5'6"" tall and could not reach the gutters from the ground. One climbed up on my fence and attached the tape to the end of the fascia while the other stood at the end of my house and held his arm up and was ""eyeballing"" the distance and doing a guesstimate of the total length of the side of my house where the garage and walk up is located.
- As I walked around the house to inspect the work that was completed I saw numerous issues. Gaps at the end of the gutters that didn't go to the end of the roof line. Down spouts were not installed against the house but stuck out in an angle. I assuming this was because they didn't have enough material to do it correctly and downspouts that were not installed improperly, outside of the next piece rather than inside.
- The person that seemed to be in charge, told me to make notes and they would fix it the next day. I will note that this person acted like a clown all day. Constantly goofing around, to the point where he feel off of a ladder and the only thing that saved him from falling to the ground was his foot got stuck between the rungs on the ladder.
- I took the man's advice and I walked the perimeter of my home checking out the work. As I saw numerous issues I began taking pictures. Then I realized the gutters did not look like they were 6 inches wide. I measured them and the gutters were only 5 inch gutters.
Day 2: When team DTG arrived on day 2 to finish the job I told them that they installed the wrong sized gutters. That my contract called for 6"" gutters not 5"". 2 people immediately pulled out phones and started making calls. Suzanne called me and tried to get me to accept the 5"" gutters at a reduced price. I told her I wanted 6"" gutters and everyone packed up and left. Stating they would return the next day.
Day 3: DTG arrives with a continuous gutter company and began removing the 5"" gutters and installing the 6"" gutters.
- As they were nearing the end I noticed the mistakes were not corrected from the prior install, gutters did not run to the end of the house and the gutters on the sides of the garage were now about 2 inches too long on one side and about 6"" too long on the other side of the garage. While the other areas of the house are not long enough. The down spouts were never properly installed and they did not repair the drain lines.
- I called the office and again spoke to Suzanne. She asked me to text her pictures of my issues. I did and she said the only way to correct that was to install gutter damns.
- After the damns were installed it looked worse than ever. I could have had my 16 year old son to do what they did. I called Suzanne again and said this was not acceptable and she said they could remove them if I wanted. I repeated that I wanted a supervisor or manager to come to my house and bring me pictures of any other home that has downspouts and gutters installed the way they installed the ones on my house. Again she asked me to text her pictures of my concerns. I never heard back from her and again I called her and she said that the 2 employees that were there had never made or installed gutter damns before and repeated that she could have them removed if I didn't like the way they looked. I repeated that I wanted a manager to come out to my house to discuss my concerns and fix the problems. She said she would have Dan come out the next day.
- At the end of the day the only 2 employees left did not speak English. When I asked them about repairing the drain lines they explained as best that they could that they did not have any material to fix them and they would be back tomorrow.
Day 4: I sent Suzann a text and asked what was going on she replied that Dan or an estimator would come out to take a look.
Day 5: Called and left a message on VM
Day 6 Called and left a message on VM
June 1, 2021 I called and spoke to a person I did not get her name, I asked to speak to Dan. She said Dan hasn't worked there for a very long time. I asked for Suzanne and she hesitated and then said she wasn't available. She asked if she could help me so I explained the situation. She asked if I had sent pictures to Suzanne and I said yes. I told her I wanted to know when they were going to finish
Jude H.Long story short:
Thursday - went to the wrong house but said they would be out in the afternoon. Did not show up
Friday - said they'd be out to clean the gutters. Did not show up but said they'd be out on Saturday
Saturday - no show again for the 3rd time
Don't waste your time
Not a fun situation when a tree branch damage your gutter. However, Dan the Gutterman team came quickly to fix it by not only replacing the gutter, but adjusting it to get a better water flow. The replacement is seamless. Very professional. I would recommend them anytime.

Jim W.We have only had wonderful experiences with Dan the Gutterman. We have used them multiple times at our personal residence and now have also had them clean the gutters at our family business. The service technician called before his arrival to verify it was a good time and was extremely polite. They worked quickly and efficiently and even had taken before and after photos for my review (no way I wasn't getting on the roof!). They cleaned up after themselves and let me know when they were complete. We will definitely use them again!
Called the company in November and they said they would call before coming out. Month and a half went by and they called us yesterday and said they would come today sometime. The crew of two showed up when we weren't home but on our nest camera it showed us when they arrived and they were here for a total of 13 minutes. Two story house and detached garage in 13 minutes? Including taking the ladder off and putting it back on the truck. I know for sure they did not do the gutters in the front because we have cameras in the front and I have no idea If they did everything the back. We called the company and they said they would get back to us.
Wish I would have seen these reviews prior to hiring them.
Received quote in mid-August for a drain line repair.
I had to call them multiple times over the next two months just to get them out to the house to do the work. They would tell me they were planning on coming and then no show.
Once there (October), they said they didn't receive good enough info from the office about the job and therefore didn't have the right tools do the work...actually asked me if I had tools on hand they could borrow...
They leave and tell me someone will call me to reschedule. No call.
Another month passes with calls from me and false claims by them that they would be coming out.
I called again in mid-November and now they tell me that they underestimated the work by nearly 500% (!!!), but were willing to do the work for 150% more than the original estimate...
The work was completed two days ago and there was zero attempt to restore the area they worked in.
This company is a joke. I will never use them again and advise others against employing them as well.
They rescheduled the work several times, but did not inform me until I called to ask where is the crew. On multiple occasions, they did not show up when they said they would. I recommend finding a different provider.
My experience was not what I expected. I had used this company about 25 years ago and received excellent service. This time I called them because I had a leak in the back bedroom ceiling and when the insurance company representative went in the roof he found it was not the roof but one of the gutters needed to be turned a different way. I called Dan the Gutterman in January and was told they couldn't accept new clients for 4 to 6 weeks. Okay. So I keep in touch with them. I even forwarded the report from the guy who was on my roof telling them exactly what needed to be done. So in May I had knee replacement surgery and was away from my home for almost 3 weeks. During that time they called and said they had been out and determined how much it would cost. This was left on my home phone answering service. I called as soon as I returned home and the lady who answered said she would set up an appointment. In June the appointment was scheduled and on the morning of the appointment I got a call from Garrett at 9:58 am telling me he was ""20 minutes away"". I waited all day and he did not show up. I called the office the next day and the lady who answered said she would check with him to see what happened. She called me back later in the day and told me that Garrett said he had been to my house, rang the bell, knocked on the door and no one answered. I told her that was impossible since I have RING doorbell and if he did it would alert me that someone was at the front door and since I'm still in recovery mode I don't leave home very much. She basically said ""I don't know what to tell you, that's what he said"". She then said she would reschedule for the following Monday. Monday came and went and nobody. Mind you she had me send payment to her way back in May when we scheduled. Finally 2 weeks ago a guy called and said he was on the way and he actually made it and the work was done. I mentioned this to a colleague of mine and she said if she had known that I had contacted this company she would have stopped me. She knew a little more about the company and the owners and how the business had been doing since the Dad passed away. I will not use them again and hope this review helps others
I wish I had seen Dan the Gutterman reviews on this sight. No one came out to estimate, which they advertise they do, instead they looked at my house on goggle earth. From my 1st communication I said I wanted to be here. Their timeline for getting here was, "" as soon as we can""?, said in the middle of June,""Today they emailed saying I didn't have to be here,I ans right back saying I want to be here, call 5 min before u will get here, I'm 3 blocks away with grandkids. They never called have been here an gone an my valleys weren't cleaned out. I didn't go for the cheapest company, I went for their expanded abilities they advertise. I'm speechless as to how bad they really are! I don't plan on paying their bill until they get back to me.
I've used this company in the past just to have my gutters cleaned out. I would call, leave a voice message and someone would be out within a week to clear out the gutters. Not sure what happened in the last few years but they're service now is terrible. I called them on May 29th and she said it would be a week to 10 days. It's now June 10th and no one has been out. I called them a few days ago to ask when I should expect someone and they haven't called back. Not sure how they're staying in business. I'm searching for someone else to do business with.
