My old water heater decided it was time to retire and leaked out so I replaced it with a tankless.

Shameless plug for my awesome plumber.

I called Derek on Sunday and after a 5 hr install on Monday I had hot water again!

Derek got me a Noritz tankless that was only $2300 vs the others that r $4000 because they require all kinds of extra retrofitting venting etc.

The tankless water heater will save me money on my gas bill so will eventually pay for its self.
Maybe a couple hundred a year.

Can ur old standard tank water heater do that?

Derek Webb is the best Plumber I have known over the last 15 years... honest, knowledgeable, and reliable. He also takes care of our business plumbing and can handle any size job.

Derek has been my plumber for many years. He's a professional and a gentlemen. Derek goes above and beyond when he does repairs. He also offers suggestions to avoid future repairs and issues. Plus, he doesn't talk down to me like some repairmen. Just because I'm blonde and a girl doesn't mean I don't know about home repairs ;) His quotes are always fair and he guarantees his work. If you are looking for a good honest plumber Derek is your guy!

Derek has been to our house a few times for minor plumbing work and we had no issues. On one visit he found a bigger issue that needed to be fixed. He gave us an estimate for 1/2 day job and told us if it took him less time he would charge less. In the end it took just under 3 hours, but he had to go under the house for one pipe. He failed to tell us there was a flat $250 fee for that. And our crawl space is 4+ft! Even with the cash discount the end price was more expensive than the original estimate, and when you figure the cost of parts ($90), $250 to go under the house (which should have been discounted I think given it was so much bigger than a normal crawl space), and 3 hours of labor I still don't come close to the fee he charged (off by ~$300). I liked the guy and he did a good job with the work, but very disappointed with the price.

Derek was the only plumber who agreed to come out in a timely manner to investigate and work on a major leak that induced me to shut off my water, and he did not charge an exorbitant overtime charge because it happened to be on a Saturday. He is clearly very intelligent, a good communicator, skilled, experienced, and very strong and energetic with a work ethic seldom seen these days. When I thought I had a similar leak, and called him out again, he showed me that a lever was slightly out of position, and only charged me gas money for the service call. My son also used him a number of months ago to install a new water heater and do some other remodeling plumbing jobs and was pleased with his work. Bonus - he is nice to your dogs and seems like an all-round great guy.

Derek saved our butts and got a complicated pump job done ahead of the holidays. And, though it's hard to believe, he charged us $10,000 less than our original quote from a company out of Concord. Great dude too.

""Quick and good"" is Derek's motto, and he delivered! We had two old sump pumps that we wanted to replace in case El Nino arrives with a lot of rain (we hope). Derek sized up our situation and made recommendations; everything he said made sense, so we agreed to go forward with him. He picked up the pumps and supplies at a local plumbing store, came back, and completed the work. Everything looks good, and now we're ready for our electrician to upgrade the system. Derek told us that because he has taken classes with the pump company, he can add a year to the warranty. Summary: our project was completed the same day, in a professional manner, and for less than the estimated price. Thank you to yelp for helping us find D. Webb Plumbing.

I had a great experience with this plumber! He was professional, reliable, honest and very skilled in his trade--everything you hope to find in a plumber!
Derek showed up on time for both the day of the estimate and for the day of his services. His estimate matched the final cost (NO bait-N-switching), and he throurouly explained everything he did. Need a plumber? This one is definitely one to hire! Sorry to hear someone else had""racial"" issues; I'm a ""minority"" and did NOT have ANY racial issues with this person.

I called Derek at 8am on a Sunday while it was pouring outside to fix a sump pump issue. He came by on time the same day and fixed the problem quickly and efficiently for a great price.

Derek is a one-person shop. He is very personable and professional, experienced and knowledgeable. He came highly recommended by a friend, and did not disappoint. I called at 1:45 PM, and he arrived just after 2:30.

We needed to have a replacement disposal installed. By phone, Derek advised maybe an hour to do. When he arrived and assessed, he thought maybe 1.25 hours. Turned out he did not have to remove and replace certain piping, and he completed the job in 50-55 minutes. His $120 hourly rate was competitive with other places. Accepted payment form is cash or check, no credit cards.

Derek determined that the original disposal was not installed correctly, although that did not affect the actual need for replacement. The replaced unit was a Badger 5 by Insinkerator, which is widely panned by users on the web (for cracked plastic cylinders) and which Derek considers a low-end product (sold by Home Depot).

Chat with Derek indicated he is well-connected with a recognizable local supply firm and he considers himself to be one of the best plumbers in Contra Costa County. He named 2-3 that were on my list of possibles, and considered one as not measuring-up to high marks by the Yelp community. On leaving, he assisted gratuitously with something unrelated that had been bothersome for several years.

Plumbing is a touchy-feely thing. Often, one doesn't know how good or bad a plumber is until long after the fact. Given the plaudits my friend gave, plus my experience with him, Derek will be my plumber of choice in the future.
