I purchased from another company and had Bahr as a 3rd party contractor install a hot water heater.
1st flag - I was told in the store that installation was a minimum amount only to be told by their contracted installers that was a mere fraction of my actual cost to install.
I pushed through this shock and got my installation scheduled.
I thought seamless process. It was installed and works fine.
But in PGC MD you are required to get an inspection after doing such an installation.
Flag 2. Much to my surprise, at the required county inspection by WSSC, the somewhat overly assertive WSSC inspector advised me that the installation should not have been done and the installers are well aware that for gas appliances there must be additional work in place to meet code.
I seemingly was the ONLY person unaware of these regulations or need for additional repairs.
Unfortunately the customer isn't informed or made aware at time of purchase (not told by company I purchased from) or during coordination/scheduling of installation (with their 3rd party plumbing company - Bahr).
My observation and hopefully PSA for customers who too may find themselves in similar situation - it would be great if they shared in advance that their are county regulations that might impact the customer's installation when purchasing gas appliances.
They are costly and you may or may not be able to get your new equipment approved for use through the county inspection process without the added costs to meet those requirements.
Fortunately I was able to get my nightmare resolved within 2 weeks of purchase, installation, failed inspection, county repairs completed, and reinspection & passed status today.
This went from seemingly an easy process to what could be equated to a cash cow grab by various entities involved in the overall process. I hope my review sheds some light on this process and will help others in PGC MD purchasing/installing gas appliances through 3rd party installers.
This provider was recommend to me by Home Depot for toilet installation. They have the worse customer service. The staff answering the phone are rude and unprofessional. After dealing with the poor customer service, I cancelled the schedule appointment 5 days before the appointment. On the day that the appointment was originally scheduled, a staff member called me with with major attitude because they still had the appointment on their calendar. Blamed me for their mistake. Would not recommend this business. There are other plumbers in the area who can provide good customer and appreciate their customers.

Alicia W.Wouldn't recommend this company !!!! They came to replace a water heater no leaking of water just figure after 10 yr it was time to replace . After they left water leaking from a valve they returned next day told me impossible they had nothing to do with the water leak offer me $450 to fix it . I called Len the plumber to fix the problem what I should had done first . Bad business ! Home Depot do better recommending companies .
We used D W Bahr to replace our old water heater. They were able to provide service within a reasonable time, the folks that performed the labor were pleasant and friendly. The job was completed in short order and instructions on care and maintenance were also offered. No changes in prices or no trying to up sell me. From beginning to end it was as pleasant as could be when faced with an unexpected event. I couldn't be happier. I would definitely recommend.
Danielle B.The worst. I had these guys install a water heater for me based on positive reviews. Fast forward a couple years the unit is leaking and not working. Had two other companies come out bc needed service right away. Was told by both that unit was improperly installed causing the leaks. Called Bahr and explained the situation. They didn't even want to come out for two weeks to even look at it. I threw a fit so they came out took pictures. Didn't even call me to review. I called them and was told this just happens and they're not at fault and won't help. Awful workmanship and awful customer service. Save your time and money.
This is the first I've heard of this company but installed my new hot water heater purchased through Home Depot.
This company did an awesome job. Showed up on time and the presentation was very professional.
I will definitely keep this company in mind for future plumbing needs.
Jon S.Really impressed by the work they did for me. Called them through Home Depot at 1030 to replace an old water heater. They were here at noon and finished by 1:15 pm. Justin and Shawn were very professional and jumped right in to do the work and explain what they were doing the whole time.
Wonderful company. Had a water heater installed. Needed some extra work for it to meet code and more importantly to make it safer for my family. The crew, Scott, Mason and Walt were great. Very professional and courteous. They cared about my property and were careful moving things in and out. I recommend calling them if you need work done.
Didn't show up at the scheduled time, and customer service said we weren't on the schedule at all. I asked to cancel, and they said ""OK"" and slammed the phone down on the hook.
