I used Yelp to find a plumber for a leak in my shower, I spoke with Dan and specifically asked for a quote before any service was rendered. Dan had said that he would have to send someone to access the situation in order to provide a quote, he made no mention of a service charge. The technician arrived and found no material issue with the plumbing, the shower head was only loose. For this 5 min assessment (in which no actual service was performed) a $150 service charge was issued. I would not recommend this gang of thieves for their integrity.

Moral of the story is get a quote over the phone and have an expectation to pay through the nose with this team. They may charge you both arms and legs.

Trevor, had a great attitude, answered all my questions, explained what he was doing, and why.
The work involved repairing a broken water pipe, between the water meter, and my house.
Work was done in a reasonable time, and I was able to have the water on in the house again.

Trevor from Martel Plumbing came out wearing a mask and maintaining distance as required. He determined the problem with my shower and had it fixed in less than 30 minutes. We have four full bathrooms in our home. Two of the toilets were just not flushing well. D. Martel Plumbing is top rated on NextDoor in our area and I called the company.

D. Martel Plumbing sent a plumber out the very next day. Trevor was courteous, honest and patient in responding to all of our questions. He gave us suggestions and we felt so comfortable with him that we asked him for recommendation about replacing other plumbing fixtures in the future. He also provided tips on keeping plumbing fixtures in top shape i.e.. the ""do's"" and ""do nots,"" such as never inserting anything into the toilet tank to turn the water blue.

One very refreshing thing about this company is that they do not charge a service fee to come out. Instead, the plumber comes out to diagnose the issue and provide you with a cost estimate, so that you can decide whether to move forward or not. How refreshing!

This is the best experience we have ever had with a plumbing company. Job well done, and thanks again.

Martel Plumbing came out to give a quote on a tankless water heater, since my current water heater was old and bigger than I needed. Dan Martel answered the call the same day. He listened to my concerns and gave some good reasons for not using a Tankless water heater, but gave me a quotes for both. It was clear the tankless heater would take several years to pay for the additional costs and since cost was an issue I picked the smaller more efficient traditional tank. Dan got to work and the new water tank and pump was put in up to code. The old tank taken away and the job looked professional. I would highly recommend Martel Plumbing, they are responsive and professional. I didn't give 5 stars because I didn't get another quote to verify the charges but his cost fit my budget so I wanted it done ASAP and he was available to complete the task.

My pilot light went out on our 15 year old water heater at 9:00 pm. I called D. Martel the next morning at 7:00 am and they responded to the house by 10:00 am. I used Martel because they were the ones that installed my water heater years ago when we had our house built. Dan Jr. replaced the unit and was done by 11:45. He provided excellent customer service as well as excellent workmanship! I love the fact that they are a family and locally owned business. They truly care about the customer and it shows in their quality of work! It's been 15 years since I used their services, and I will not hesitate to use them again in the future. I highly recommend them to anyone who is in need of hot water heater repair.....You will not be disappointed!

I just used this plumbing service for the second time this week. My home was built in the 1970s, much like many homes in El Dorado County. And for the second time, the plumber did not have the necessary part in order to fix a plumbing problem. He said to go to a hardware store and find the part if still available, or buy a whole new fixture. I asked if they might have the part in their shop, so that he could come back at another time, and he said no. What happened to the days when service/repair people came prepared for the job? 1970-something is not that old, in my opinion.
