Stay away from this total scam of a company at all costs. They installed a new HVAC unit for us in 2018. In 2019 when we returned the Beach House the AC was blowing hot air, would not cool down. The company sent a technician out who put dye into the unit to try to find an obvious refrigerant leak, but upon coming back the next day claimed he could not find the leak. Thus, he filled it with refrigerant to ""tie us"" over at a cost of over $500. Well last weekend, early June 2020, we went back to open up the home for this summer and same issue, unit would not cool. We called them back and a new technician came out and found the leak and determined it needs a new coil. Total cost, $1339. That's now almost $2,000 in two years since putting a brand new $5,000 unit in. I called to argue this charge and Robert, ""Customer Service Manager"", was truly the rudest and most relentless A-hole I've ever come across in my life. He refused to admit that it was at all unreasonable to have to invest 40% of the cost of the unit within 2 years. A little hard to swallow when their customer service manager sounds like he has a third grade education at most. I found out their owner's name is Regan Roberts, but despite several requests, they refused to allow me to speak to her about this issue. I will stop at no ends to expose this fraud of a company!

RIP OFF. Paid $200 for literally NOTHING. I was told I needed a new unit. Turns out I only needed to change the filters in my HVAC! It's been 8 months and is running fine now. The young guy working on my unit had no idea what he was talking about.

It was in the 90s and our air conditioner stopped blowing cold air. I called Custom Mechanical, knowing nothing about them. They arrived within an hour and replaced the capacitor. Derrick stayed until he was sure it worked and he checked out everything to be sure all was in good shape. Discovered my intake filter also needed replacing. He answered all of my questions and was the professional you would want to come into your home.

Took advantage of my 87 year old grandmother. Charged her nearly $2,000 for a service that should have been about $400-$700. On top of that the issue wasn't even fixed as now the AC doesn't blow out cold air! They said its a separate issue that we will have to pay for. Elderly Abuse! If you live in this area definitely do not give them a call.

I bought a Comfort Star HVAC ductless split system highly recommended for service and reliability by salesman ""Steve"" in 2013. However their service people don't seem to know how to service it and are telling me ""its a piece of junk"" yet they keep charging my credit card $300 to $700 a pop just for charging or evacuating and recharging it which doesn't last. In Oct I had to wait 2 months for a new circuit board from them from China. I'm going to report them to the BBB!

We had a technician out to fix our HVAC unit over the weekend. $207 fee just to come, but it was a holiday weekend. We needed 6 lbs of refrigerant and have an older system so it required R-22. The tech told me based on how hard this was to acquire the cost per pound was $120. Because it was a holiday weekend I had no way of checking the going rate so I ok'd the work. Today I called 3 competitors in the area and found I could get R-22 installed for between $40-$80/lb. So they charged me between 1-1/2 to 3 times as much as other companies for the same product. I have used them in the past but that is the last time. Anybody else will get my business. BTW I did call call and ask for a discount today and was told, ""Oh Well, I will let the owner know"". Oh and I can buy R-22 on Amazon.com for $50/lb retail. What a rip off.

We had a horrible experience with Custom Mechanical. They replaced the air handler and condenser in our beach home about two years ago. In October of 2015 I visited the house only to find that the condensate drain on the condenser (which is inside the house) came disconnected at a glued joint. The disconnected condensate drain allowed water to leak onto the floor which resulted in ruined hardwood flooring outside the service closet. The condensate drain pipe was originally cut too short at which point the installer simply pulled the two pipes together and attempted to glue them together. That glued joint failed resulting in slightly more than two thousand dollars damage to the hardwood floors. The Service Supervisor at Custom Mechanical refused to discuss either the original installation or any consideration for the prices of the repair. His rudeness and unprofessional behavior is a terrible reflection on what I previously thought was a reliable local contractor. Don't make the same mistake I made. They do not stand by their work nor do they respect their customers. Do yourself a favor and avoid Custom Mechanical.

We had a real bad experience with them. They were supposed to fix our outdoor shower that was frozen this winter. They came on time but the end result was the shower cut on and off like a machine gun. It was strange. We complained and they sent a man out and said we had loose pipes in the wall which needed replaced. that just didn't make sense to me so I took it apart myself and found the valve was clogged with broken plastics and glue. When I cleaned it out it worked fine. I was very disappointed that I could get no help from the manager and I think they lied to us to try to get extra work. They also charged my credit card without my permission. I had that reversed. They still got me for $500 for the botched repair though. Will never use again.

We called Custom Mechanical at the end of the business day in a panic--on the hottest day of the year, our AC stopped working. My husband found the faulty part, and Custom Mechanical stayed open an hour and a half late for us so that my husband could purchase the part from them. An hour later, our AC is back on and all of us will sleep comfortably tonight. This is a local business that obviously takes care of its customers and cares about the folks in the community. Thanks again.
