Several months ago, we had Curtis Total Service do regular annual maintenance of our oil boiler. About six weeks later, on Friday, our boiler was not firing. We called Curtis, but because we did not have a service contract, they would not be able to come out until Monday. As of Monday, nothing was scheduled by them. We called another HVAC company. They came out within hours. The reason the boiler was not firing was that the igniters were out of alignment. These were part of what the annual service. The other company's policy is that if heater breaks down for any reason during the season after their tune-up, they'll refund the cost or put it towards the cost of repair. Even though our boiled stopped working weeks after Curtis serviced it, Curtis could not be bothered to make it a priority to follow-up on their service.
We had a clogged sewer line. Called Curtis and Jake came to our house. Jake spent about 4 hours clearing our sewer line. Jake did a good job.
Didn't bring any tools into the apartment and asked me if I had food due to run a test. The two that came did nothing more than flush my toilets and turn on water and they thought that was sufficient to test for sewer gas in the form of awful rotten egg smells that dropped me to the floor choking on phlegm, in and out of the hospital and severely red irritated airway. I would give zero stars if it was an option. I guess landlord money matters more than public safety. Doctor even wrote a letter that I needed to vacate the apartment and no one should go into unit without special masks because of how severe my symptoms were. I was told by the doctors my breathing may never go back to normal.
Jake got to my house at the exact time of his appointment, he was very thorough and super friendly and courteous. He went above and beyond with the inspection and explanation of the repairs to be done. Will absolutely use them!
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!
I am finishing my basement. I called Curtis to move may HVAC and water heater. They quoted me $5500 for the job. I knew it was high, but thought it was worth it to get job done right.
The job was scheduled for September 29-30th. I got a call two days before that they will not be coming and need to reschedule. I told them I was under a time crunch since I was paying contractors to do the work in the basement and would now have to wait.
Two weeks later, they came in, moved the HVAC. Did not complete the job. The humidifier is still not connected. The condensation drain line is run over the electric junction box (EXTREMELY DANGEROUS). Insulation is not reinstalled and the list goes one (All photographed and documented for the court!
It was supposed to be a two day job with 4 guys. It turned into over a week. At one time, they had 11 guys in my basement with one guy working and the other 10 standing around.
When time came to move the water heater. They refused and demanded an extra $4600. This is in spite of being over two weeks late and not doing the HVAC job correctly.
We signed a contract. I paid them a deposit. They made me lose money on my contractors and then left me high and dry. I had to find an emergency plumber to come out and do the job correctly at the last hour. You can imaging how much that cost me.
To top it all off, they demanded I pay them more than my deposit for a job not finished.
Rest assured Curtis, my lawyer has the case now. You will not only pay for my emergency plumber but also pay for my contractors' time and my wasted time, not to mention my lawyer's time. Get ready and see you in court!
The work was good , but expensive
even if after hrs.

I was thrilled with after my 5th call to other busy plumbers that they said that they could come the same day. Correct! They did! Nice! He was a dear lad that led with a scripted 'if you purchase a service agreement you will save 10%...'
Poor Jacob. Even HE realized that it would have cost me even more than the $877 quote to snake my drain. In tears I paid the 89 dollar charge for the showing-up.
Agentis got back to me, came out and did it for 350. OY Vey! Stay away!
Scam artists! Did not fix the central account problem correctly. Overcharged for wrong services. Lie to you about warranty and what is covered. Don't waste your time!!! Awful customer service! Owner is rude!
Leyna O.Would give zero stars if I could. Paid a good deal of money to have a new heating system installed about 4 years ago. Called today because system wasn't working and on-call technician said he would be out to diagnose the issue. He then called back and said he has no parts for my unit. I find this hard to believe since it is a unit they recommended and installed. Was told to call back on Tuesday for an appointment Asked for a call from the supervisor on duty and still haven't received one. Meanwhile, I'm without heat with unseasonable temperatures over a holiday weekend.
I did check online for authorized servicers for my unit and interestingly enough, Curtis isn't even on the list. Luckily a local competitor is and is on the way to help!
Called Curtis because of a problem I was having with my central AC unit.
They said someone could show up at my door for $89 and then quote me a price. I asked what their hourly rate was and they said they did not have one, I would be quoted a price when they showed up and I payed the $89.
I asked what they typically charged for a job like this, the guy on the other end became annoyed and transferred me to a manager. The manager basically yelled at me and asked why I wanted the unit fixed instead of just buying a new one? This is some of the worst customer service I have experienced, angry individuals who won't tell you what they charge. Mechanics tell you their hourly rate, lawyers tell you their hourly rate, consultants tell you their hourly rate, but not Curtis. I am sorry I found them in my Google search and will make a note to never call them again!
