Do not use Brent. We used Brent last year when a drain company was installing new yard drains. We had a lot of leaks and the drain company brought Brent out to identify the leaks which included pool pipes that the drain company had damaged. We also used American Leak Detection which we paid for. This year we found another leak and we were concerned that the pool pipe fix had not held. We brought Brent out to find the leak since he had a relationship with the drain company. For the standard $350 he came out. He claimed he tested the pool, the pool filler and the irrigation and in the end concluded that the new yard drains were ""compromised"". We had the drain company come out to find the leak in the ""compromised"" drains. After a morning of digging, it seems that the leak is in the pool pipes. I called Brent and he then claimed he only did a ""fresh water"" leak detection. He flat out LIED. He clearly did not perform the pool leak test properly. Last year we also used American Leak Detection. They are $350 and guarantee their work for 30 days. There is no such thing as a fresh water leak detection....it is a leak detection procedure. Brent seems to be trying to cover up the fact that he didn't perform the pool leak detection properly. I am just the unfortunate consumer who is taken advantage of. Do not use him. He is unethical, lies and does not stand behind his work. Goto a real leak detection company like American Leak Detection.

As promised, my review.

I genially HATE giving bad reviews but as a strong believer that yelp helps normal people know exactly what they are getting themselves into, I have to be honest.

The city told me that we have a leak if 30 gallons of water a day.


I called Brett and he came to my house the first time, spent probably about 30 mins. He found a leak told me where is was and I asked him, does this look like it would be 30 gallons a day and he said oh yea it for sure does.

I had a plumber come fixed the issue and the city said it only made a difference of 4 gallons a day and we still have a leak of 26 gallons a day.

I called Brett again and he came and said he found a pump that's not working and a toilet that's leaking. The plumber came and fixed it, the city said made 0 difference and the leak is still 26 gallons a day.

Called him again and said listen you didn't find the leak, he came back- this time he spent around 2 hours and found some very minor leaks and decided to RECHARGE ME FOR THE SAME EXACT JOB HE DIDNT FINDH. In full. No discount. No sorry.

Honestly I'm still shocked

1. He never did the job right, not after 3x of coming could he find the big leak of 26 gallons a day

2. He told me the city has no idea what they are talking about and he did his job right (but you can't fight the city about their water monitor and saying it's lying? - very logical)

3. He really should switch professions to do something he is capable of doing

I now have to hire a real leak detector company that knows what they are doing and have to pay 3x for 1 job.

I would highly advise against using him, and just go to a legit company so that you wouldn't have to pay more than once for the same job.

Hope this post saves someone else from having to spend :
$250 + $250 for nothing, then another $300 for a real company that will actually find the leak.

Unfortunately, we've needed the services of Curmax twice over the past couple years. However, the owner, Brent, is incredibly good and professional at what he does. Not only that, but he takes ownership in his work. During our most recent water leak Brent worked hand in hand with the plumber, even making return visits to the house to work alongside the plumber. Brent is extremely personable and thorough and receives our highest recommendation. You can feel comfortable and confident having Brent help locate your water leak.

Cheapest, fastest, friendliest...

We had a gas leak. Brent (the owner) came out within a couple hours of my call. It took him 15 minutes to determine the location of 3 leaks. He fixed one, marked the others, and took his time explaining repair options. It was a much cheaper, faster, and overall more pleasant experience than I expected.

Quick response! Called on a Friday afternoon and had an appointment for the next morning. Found the leak right away and even came back 2 days later once the plumber finished his work to ensure the leak was resolved. I hope to never need a leak specialist again, but will for sure be holding onto Brent's number. Thank you!

This gentleman provides the most thorough and accurate information. Intelligent, friendly, and a professional at what he does. I am a contractor and I have seen many fail at detecting leaks where Curmax has the experience and knowledge needed to accurately find leaks. Pool, water, or gas, these people definitely know their trade so you don't end up spending money breaking floors, slabs, etc. in wrong places which I have seen many plumbers do. They have the latest technological equipment and again are professionals in this area. Sincerely!

My husband got a letter from the water department, stating that our use was three times the norm. We were in a panic, since we haven't had any visitors, there appeared to be no puddles in the yard. What to do? On Saturday late afternoon we called Brent at CurMax and he said he could be at out home Sunday between 7 and 7:30 am. Sure enough he was there on time, found the leak, buried 4 feet under the front lawn, fixed it and 2 hours later we had running water. Also for a weekend visit, you would expect to pay a premium, he was very fair. He cleaned up after himself as well. Highly recommended!

Brent is awesome! As a Realtor, I use him often to check for gas leaks on all my real estate transactions! He's honest, always on time, completely reliable! There are times he does not detect a leak and other he detects a small leak and some that are bigger jobs. Either way he can fix the problem on the spot and is very reasonably priced. I always recommend Brent with Curmax!
