I just had Cupertino Plumbing re-pipe my new house with copper. I got 5 quotes and had spoken to 3 contractors before talking to Frank, the owner, about doing the job. I could tell that Frank was extremely knowledgable which made me feel confident about hiring Cupertino Plumbing for the job. Frank came to my home and explained everything to me. I not only decided to hire them based on having 50 years experience, but also because they were the only company that would put everything back together. Other contractors were going to tear up my sidewalk, driveway, and not replace drywall inside the house. Cupertino Plumbing was the only company that had a machine that wouldn't require my sidewalk and driveway to be torn up. Other companies not only would tear them up, but wouldn't put them back together.

Robert and Eric did the copper re-piping and did a fantastic job. They were extremely friendly and very knowledgeable. Both have over 10 years experience in the industry and I felt confident that they knew what they were doing and would do a great job. They did not disappoint! They treated my home as if it were their own and always cleaned up afterwards. Again, they did such a fantastic job. The person that came to fix the exterior stucco and interior drywall was also very friendly and did a great job. He went out of his way to move a hose wheel from the front of the house to the side for me.

When Eric was under the house, he noticed that my waste pipes had some leaks and the pipes were stressed. Frank arranged for Angel to come out and take a look the next day, Angel was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and showed me the condition of the pipes. The pipes were in very poor condition and I was happy that they were going to be replaced. Angel has over 10 years experience and I felt confident the job was going to be done right. Angel did not disappoint and did a fantastic job.

In addition, Frank called me after all the work was done to make sure I was happy with the service. Cupertino Plumbing may not be the cheapest, but I believe you get what you pay for. I would much rather pay more to have the job done right. I would highly recommend Cupertino Plumbing and would not hesitate to hire them again,

This review is about water repiping, not any other service.

For some reason, only half the place was repiped to copper, while the other half was still galvanized metal. We called Frank (the owner), and he came by to give us a free estimate on how much it would cost to replace the remaining pipes. He told us it would be a two-day job, and we went ahead and scheduled it.

On the first day of work, two people came and started laying out the new copper pipes, but did not switch over the water system. This is standard procedure to minimize the amount of time the water has to be shut off. Unfortunately, because the space under one of the bathrooms was very tight, they didn't have enough space to route an alternate pipe. Thus they had to take out an existing pipe and shut off the water for an hour. Not too troublesome, they let us know ahead of time and it was back in on in an hour. They also let us know what work they'd be doing throughout the day, especially if it was a reroute.

On the second day, they switched over to the new copper lines and the water was off for a good half a day. After completing the switch over, they tested the new lines by running the water and flushing the air that was built up in the pipes. They did leave some of the old pipes in the crawlspace, but removed all unused exterior faucets. After the piping was done and tested, the drywall repair guy came to patch all the holes that were made. This included drywall cutouts, drill holes, and mesh screens. He seemed to be under extreme time pressure because he was running late, but he still kept cool and dealt with each issue we pointed out rather than coming back the next day. That was definitely appreciated.

A few days later, we noticed a leak at the connection from the main water supply into the home, which was part of their repiping job. The only way to stop it from leaking was to turn off the main water into the home. We called them about it, and they were able to fix it the next morning. Since then, we've had no other water pipe problems.

They did a repipe on my house 10 years ago, I hired them at a previous property to do a re pipe and sewer job. On my original home they did a wonderful job, on the newer one a terrible job. I have spent THOUSANDS of dollars since moving to this house 9 years ago repairing things.

The other issue was they were at that time in the kitchen and bathroom remodeling business and walked away from their own contract, leaving me with an unfinished job. When they delivered the faucets and toilets they delivered what they wanted not what I bought and paid for, but we were stuck with a mess. Again costing THOUSANDS of dollars.

They redid all the water and gas utilities - undersized the tankless water heater - in less that 8 years we had to replace and redo the gas line. And replace the water heater, again THOUSANDS of dollars.

They did not measure where they placed the sewer line in the bathrooms. We have a narrow bathroom with a toilet that stick way out as they did not follow the plan. A wall had to be removed because they did not set a shower correctly. Now we need to replace bathrooms in only 9 years because of the plumbing problems in both - again THOUSANDS of dollars.

But the final straw was they never hooked up our tub. I could never understand why that bathroom always smelled like mud after it was used. Well, when we corrected the gas line that was noticed. And the plug that was used for the tub test was laying in the dirt under the house and the tub had been draining under the house for 9 years! It is a good thing we have loamy soil in our area.

These guys are a total ripoff and their ""service"" is a joke. Needed our Toto toilet fixed and they came out and charged us $175 and said it would take 3 weeks to get the parts and would be another $200. Called someone who knew what that they were doing and they came out out and fixed the toilet today with parts that are available all over San Jose same day. STAY AWAY unless you like spending WAY more then you need to and waiting WAY longer then necessary.

There was a lot of noise coming from the pipes in the house whenever the shower turned on and it eventually changed so that even running a sink would cause the loud humming noise.
Called Cupertino plumbing and they sent a guy named Frank
out. He was there for 2 hours, replaced some parts, and even fixed an issue with a sink upstairs. It was done in a very efficient manner and the price was very fair!

My husband hired them to remove a Moen cartridge from the shower. It should be a relatively simple job if you know what to do. But the plumber that was sent obviously didn't have this type of experience. It took him almost 4 hours to finish the job with a lot of banging, drilling and chipping. When he finally removed the part, the pipe that it was in was damaged and when the new cartridge was installed, water would leak when it was turned on. The plumber then recommends replacing the entire pipe behind the shower which would cost approximately an extra $700. So a simply fix ended up costing more money to us to fix because of a poor job by the plumber. My husband called the owner and the owner said he would look into it and call us back. He didn't call back at all. My husband had to call back two weeks later. The owner said that they are not responsible for the damage caused by his plumber in the process of a job. But the pipe was in good condition and the plumber made it worse. We would avoid this company because they don't fix small problems therefore they don't have experience in this.

We got copper plumbing from Cupertino Plumbing after having a lot of our neighbors recommend them. The process was seamless. Everyone did a fantastic job. I would highly recommend them.

I would never use these guys again. Frank, the owner, is extremely rude and has a real attitude. They overcharge, make mistake after mistake, take on too many jobs at the same time. The only person I liked, Robert, is no longer there. He was in charge of the remodel. The plumbing part was awful - they told us to leave for 6 weeks - we were in a hotel for 6 months. A nightmare.

Cupertino Plumbing did end-to-end copper re-piping of our 2 story 3 bath home. Dave and his fellow plumbers were always on time, courteous, respected our property and cleaned up end of every day they were in.

Dave has amazing dexterity with soldering and not even a single leak was found when the house was turned around. There were significant amount of Sheetrock that had to be cut and it was kept to a minimum and their Sheetrock person who came to patch did a fantastic job with matching the texture of interior walls and in 2 spots of the outside stucco.

Initially we had intended on installing mini shower bidet systems in toilets which at least 2 other local plumbers had agreed to do when they were bidding on the job. Frank is very familiar with building codes. That helped us in picking a bidet system that would pass any building inspection. In addition to re-piping, they installed 3 Sanicare hot-cold bidet systems in our toilets. Hot water connections had to be run new and Dave did a super neat job.

These guys didn't bid the lowest for our job, neither did they have a high yelp rating when we checked. They had re-piped at least 2 other houses in our immediate neighborhood and those homeowners had nothing but good to say about the quality work they perform. That along with the lifetime warranty, 2: one rough, the other final, inspections by the city, detailed work order written out at the time of the bid made us decide to give the job to them and they delivered!

I drove home to see a little creek running through my garage. Uh-oh -- it's the water heater.

I found Cupertino Plumbing had a good rating in Bay Area Checkbook so I called. They were there within an hour, installed a new water heater quickly, for a fair price.

Fast, fair, courteous, did great work.
