Had your tech come to our house on Friday, April 12, 2024 during business hours to check our furnace as it would not fire. They sent out their tech, Zach K. He was already told that the basement took on some water during the flooding. He proceeded to say that we needed a new blower, a new mother board and a new transformer. All to the lovely tune of $800+.
We sought a 2nd opinion because we did have some knowledge of furnaces. Had someone with more extensive knowledge look at it. The only thing the furnace needed was an $83 mother board. And now, they send us a $199 bill for the service call. Highly unethical business practices. He wasn't even here a half hour. How many customers have these crooks ripped off prior to this. Never ever use this company and I never will again.

The young, inexperienced kid that they sent to fix a clogged drain stole a sentimental ring (was my grandmothers). The ring was not worth a lot of money, it was a small ruby. I had it in a bowl in my bathroom, I had taken it off when I showered that morning. The secretary who answers the phone is very rude, and stated that there was nothing that they could do. She told me to read the invoice, where it says that they are not responsible for theft from their employees. I am heartbroken over the ring, and can't believe this company knows they hire thieves, and covers themselves by putting in very small print that they are not responsible for intentional damage or theft by their workers. Use them at your own risk.

I had this company install a new sump pump less than a year ago. It has never worked. I had my finished basement redone at a cost of over 15k, the new sump pump being part of the remodel. The pump just makes a humming noise and does not pump the water out. I have called them about this and they come up and say it is working, despite water seeping up through the floor (in the middle of the basement so it is not seeping in from outside). They charge me $92 for a 3 minute visit, to tell me that it is working. My basement is ruined. I called another company who replaced the defective sump pump and installed a new one. I am in the process of having new flooring installed. As soon as all the work is completed I am taking them to court not only for the cost of the defective pump, but for the costs of the damages incurred because they refused to honor their warranty. The sump pump they installed was one that could be bought at Home Depot for $67, they charged me $500. They also charged me twice for services, and refused to reimburse me (I paid the day they did the work, and then paid again when they sent an invoice). I gave them my bank records to show the double payment, but they refused to reimburse. From what local residents of Butler have told me, this company used to be great, but was taken over by different owners. They now do substandard work, install substandard equipment and charge you for top of the line, double bill, refuse to honor warranties, and do not back their work. I hope their insurance is up to date, and every person who entered my house to do work is fully bonded, because I am taking them to court so that nobody else has to go through this. My home owners insurance is also encouraging me to take pursue legal action as they have had to pay out two claims due to the incompetence of Cunningham.

We needed a new installation of AC for our home. Matt (new owner?) promptly came out and gave us a very competitive quote. In spite of the Corona Virus he managed to obtain the unit we wanted. It was delivered and installed as promised.

The install was prompt, efficient, and very nice looking. It does an excellent job of cooling our home.

Cunningham Shanor is someone I would highly recommend.

I want to add, this was at my home in Butler, PA. The address shows Florida because I am writing this review from Florida.

Had one local company tell me I needed a new furnace/AC and vent lines. OHH boy. Now the folks at Cunningham Shanor from Leeanne on the phone and the two techs I met, Mike and Billy were all straight shooters. They saw me promptly, explained the problem and corrections needed in plain English. Pointed out things to keep an eye on too. Free advice.
I was also very happy with my bill.

I called Cunningham Shanor Inc. (Butler, PA) for a plumber to unclog a drain. Not only was the man they sent exceedingly inexperienced, but he also ROBBED me. When I called to report the theft, the owner had the secretary dismiss me and tell me to call the police, which I did. Thanks to the vigilance of the Butler Township Police, my stolen possessions were returned when the employee admitted to the theft, though they were damaged from being buried in the mud.

Meanwhile, my bill was $278 for a drain that the employee never unclogged, claiming that the floorboards needed ripped up. This bill reflects being charged by the hour (during which time the employee was stealing from me), $68 for a part that I later purchased at Lowes for $6.27, and an additional $50 for the use of the snake, which I have never been charged for before. All this, and there was still a bucket under my sink. Two weeks later, a reputable plumber came and unclogged my drain in less than 40 minutes for a total of $140.

Despite repeated calls to Cunningham Shanor Inc. to speak to the owners about the grossly inflated bill and theft, I was ceaselessly ignored and never received a return call. Fortunately, I stopped payment on the check, because they tried to cash the check even after a police officer questioned their employee at their business.

Only after I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau to warn consumers did I receive a call from one of the office staff members, who assured me that the matter would be resolved expediently. Again, they've not called back, even though I've made additional attempts to contact them. To date, nothing has been resolved, I'm still waiting for a call back, and neither of the owners has ever called me.

At this point, I do not expect to hear back from them since nearly a month has passed since the incident and I've made multiple attempts to contact them. My responsibility now is to warn other consumers about their fraudulent pricing, failure to conduct adequate background checks on employees, their obvious lack of concern for their customers, and their overall unprofessional and incompetent conduct.
