Company Overview

Created as Gilmer Refrigeration Services in the early 1980s, our family-owned company first specialized in refrigeration for businesses. Starting with a small team, we grew our services to support the bulk of shops and food service businesses in the local community. By means of dedication, expert service, and connections with our clients, we built our presence. Due to their encouragement, we increased our operations, and by the year 2000, we evolved into a complete heating and air conditioning provider for both industrial and residential HVAC.

As our expansion in the HVAC field, we decided to rebrand our business to more accurately represent our loyalty to the regional community. The Crossville Heating and Cooling now represents the core values and business practices of the original Gilmer brand, while also showcasing our ongoing work to provide the newest in climate control and energy-efficient services to our loyal customers.

We found out two weeks ago that our vents needed to be cleaned. Within a day, I had made contact with Crossville Heating and Cooling. They sent Christopher out to check our problem. He did confirm that the vents needed to be cleaned. His professionalism and knowledge made the experience much easier. He scheduled a day for our vents to be cleaned the following week. Today, Jacob showed up eager to work, and was very pleasant and mild mannered. Within a few hours he had all of our vents cleaned and back up and ready to warm our home. I can't express enough gratitude to this company for their quick response, and wonderful technicians. We will be calling them back for more work.

I have had nothing but problem. Brand new house they have been trying to install a new system for 7 1/2 months. There answer we will keep coming back until they get it right. Wrong size copper lines were installed and had to be torn out of covered walls. Not happy with customer service at all.

Very expensive hourly rate. They wouldn't break down the charges when I contacted them. Was charged $268.00 to replace a $20.00 part that only
Took twenty minutes . Was at my home less than an
Hour and that amount didn't include a $79.00
Service fee which they didn't charge if I bought a two visit maintenance agreement for $155.00
Maybe this is a normal fee , was just wondering.
The other place I contacted couldn't make it till
Friday and they were $60.00 per hour.

Hi Catie Thank you for your response. As of 17Jul22, I haven't received a refund check. I was told that from a previous phone conversation weeks ago. And now again from you. Of course no check received. That's why I posted my comments. Just getting the run around. Being curious I also reviewed the BBB site. It seems I'm not the only one not happy.
You are using an email signed charge card receipt to try to verify that your business has quoted a price before doing the work. Is that correct, if so. not good. The only time we were quoted a price was when the tech came out for 2nd visit and only after he worked on our unit did we get a quoted total price. And I have the dates on the emails. One email came to us with nothing on it (was blank) and it had to be resent at a later date. We kept the emails. Bottomline Catie, we feel your business practices aren't exactly up to par as it relates to quality customer service. It seems to be more about the money. And please I possess a Science
Business Management degree & graduated cum laude. Really familiar with business tactics & strategies. Can see after I sent my not so good comment, a good one was posted. Note I wouldn't be posting if the experience had been awesome. Suggest particularly Seniors on fixed incomes shop around. I did contact the hot water manufacturer and was given another service company. And now we are like, we'll believe the promise about a refund check when we see it. But thank you for sending a reply which is standard when a customer post good or bad comments. The proof will be in the pudding if we get a refund check. If we do I'll be happy to post we got it.

I decided to switch to another company. Why? My reasons follow:

I requested HVAC duct cleaning and improved sealing of the ducts to minimize leaking of warm/cool air through my crawl space. I received a combined estimate for both services. Unfortunately, after sealing the ducts, and doing a good job, they decided to forget the estimate also included duct cleaning, and the duct cleaning was never performed. But, they charged me for it as per the original estimate. Quite honestly, I believe they thought I wouldn't notice the duct cleaning was not performed because I'm a senior citizen, and probably unable to inspect the work performed due to a reduction of my mental faculties.

On a different occasion, I requested a routine yearly cleaning of my entire HVAC system (heating and cooling). After performing the service, they provided me with a bill that stated only the air-conditioning portion of the system was cleaned, despite the fact that I requested both the AC and heater portion be cleaned. They stated the reason the heater was not cleaned was they only clean ACs during the month I requested, and to clean the heater, I had to request a separate cleaning (with a separate charge) later in the year.

Hired them to run about six feet of gas line and hook up my dryer. Quoted $425, including $50 to hook the gas line up. They show up and the guy has a gun hanging out of the back of his pants, which was completely ridiculous and unprofessional. They didn't have enough sense to just pre fabricate the fittings that they needed before putting it through the floor, so they decided to bust a hole in the block foundation of my crawlspace (and leave the mess). The helper pooped in my bathroom, which was just gross and unprofessional. The supervisor finally arrives and says to prefab the fittings and go through the floor. They get a tile saw and hack my tile up as pictured below, seriously leaving it like this and expecting a job well done. I call and ask if that is their standard and they come and repair it. They tell me that they'll adjust the bill because I didn't force them to repair the block under the house. I wait for a phone call or bill and hear nothing until over two months later, they call and ask for the full $425. The people that ran the line didn't even have the right fittings to hook up the dryer, so I bought the stuff myself and hooked it up myself. They want me to pay for work that I did MYSELF!

We had an absolute horrible experience with them!!! They price gouged, tried to get us to purchase a new unit that we didn't need. They failed to inform us that our HVAC unit was still under warranty, Basically, we do NOT recommend using them at all.

Not only did this company overcharge me for the hard start capacitor, but I found out today that they charged me twice for the shoddy service. I contacted the office and they informed me that they will TRY to get the second charge reversed. I contacted the credit card company to stop payment on the second charge. This is not a company to do business with.
